I’m heading out in July as well and would love to hear about your accommodation journey! I’m still working on figuring that out and have had a lot of anxiety about getting it right, so seeing a video from someone who’s been working on this for the past two years would be really helpful!
You got it! Then I'll definitely make a video talking about my experiences and recommendations. Best of luck on your journey and hope to see you in Japan in July!
Thank you so much for explaining into proper detail about each part of the gogo Nihon programme! 👍😁👏🙌 I have watched so many videos and they never explain the nitty gritty details of each part and you do it so quickly and easy to understand so for that I say a big Thank You! 🫶😊
Waiting patiently (lol...okay, not really) for my Certificate of Eligibility and getting ready to start language school in Sapporo in October. I also heartily recommend Go! Go! Nihon, who guided me through all the complicated hoop-jumping to make this happen.
@@seoulsearcher7628 Pretty seamless, to be honest. The timelines given by Go! Go! Nihon proved to be accurate (including the long gap between school acceptance and issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility...it's a couple months, which seem like an eternity). If you go for an 18 month visa, you might be issued a 15 month one, but the school will help you extend it. Make sure you have something showing your residence address with you when you arrive: Immigration will issue you your residence card as you pass through, and you'll need that (along with your CoE, etc.). Good luck!
Dawg idk about you but I kinda panicked seeing that 1 million yen thing. I think they lowered it to 3,000 yen for a single entry, and 6,000 yen for Double entry.
This is a great video! Hope you enjoy your stay in Japan! I’m applying as well for the April term. I was wondering what you wrote for the application essay (the 300 word count portion)? I’m afraid I might type something that would make them decline me 😰 and also a perfectionist
Yes you can! The longest you can stay on a student visa is for 2 years. Once you're in Japan you can usually easily extend your visa with the help of your language school :)
I've tried finishing my application but they haven't responded to it and it's been like almost 20 days now. And i've reapplied like 3 times now out of frustration, checked my spam and stuff on mail, nothing...
@@elevLisa yea I can go to Mexico any time for the visa but if something goes wrong like I'm not illegible or missing documents I won't be able to enter the US again :/
I've actually been dreaming of going to japan sinds 2020 or so, I'm now 16, I will be 17 in March! I'm from Belgium & have been looking into it and I was thinking of maybe going to Japan after highschool, and going to language school there. Although now I'm not sure anymore. With all the costs it will be super expensive and what if I don't end up liking living there? What if I don't want to continue studying there, etc. Then I'd just have to move back and a whole lot of money will be wasted to skills that I won't even need in my country... I'm really not sure, help!
What happen if I wanna move to Japan only for 6 months. Do I need to have the 10k or Can be 5k since is the half of the year? If someone knows a bit about it let me know please 🙏
I really enjoyed your video! I’m also going in July and I used gogonihon. I was wondering when you booked your flight for? Like from what I read it said that you should arrive 2-4 days before your school starts but I feel like that’s not enough time to get used to everything.
Thank you! I'm arriving in Japan 4 days before my first day of school, but I've also been in Japan a few times before so getting used to everything will probably be easier. I think you'll get used to everything pretty quickly though and going to language school right away is probably actually going to help you find a routine that works for you :)
I’ve been looking into this and was wondering if I had to provide the bank statements when applying to the school or just for the visa, I can’t find much on it TIA.
It was fairly easy! Once I got my CoE and ERFS documents from the language school (they send it per post) I just had to send a letter to my local embassy with these documents and a copy of my passport!
Hello, thank you for the very informative video. However i wanted to ask if the wait time to finally be accepted REALLY takes around 6 months like you described it would. Also, if i were to want to extend my 1 year visa to a 2 year visa after the first year has finished, is it possible?
Hi! The wait to be accepted was quite long in my case because I applied so early, but it depends on when you apply. Apart from that, if you apply through Go! Go! Nihon, they make absolutely sure that you won't be rejected because they're super thorough with their document checks, so you can rest assured you will 99% of the time be accepted :) Also yes, you can extend later~
This is because they want you to spend your time actually in the school and not just working. There's limits on how many hours you can work with a student visa, making it very difficult to live on such a small income. They want to make sure you have enough savings to pay your rent and not worry about becoming homeless in japan
please don't mind the visual glitch on the website - someone forgot to check whether the video rendered correctly :')

Is there a age barrier to get admission to Japanese Language School ? Currently, I am 42.
Please advise.
there's no age limit at all!

It's really highly recommended to learn some Japanese before you go to Japan! At least knowing hiragana and katakana will help you out a lot
is it expensive cause im broke af 0v0?? can somene broke like me go
it's difficult if you have no savings at all, but there are also some scholarship programs if you wanted to go to University for example

What school?
Hmm.... Learn as much Japanese as possible and as little time as possible. = No time for fun while in Japan.
Right, I personally didn't choose that approach either. It's all about your priorities :)
They want you to have $10,000 in your bank account to go?
For a year study yep! I contacted them asking and they said around 11k😭
