    Every year i purchase only 3 to5 different coleus and pinch tops back and place cuttings in a glass of water on my window sill to root. They root fast . Then place the rooted cuttings in my garden. I can get up to 20 plus plants from just a few initial plants. 😊

      Thats one of the best ways to make more! They so versatile and colourful, Perfect for any garden. Believe it or not we actually have a video demonstrating exactly that! Thanks for watching. 😃

      Thanks so much Dean. I normally mulch with my left over grass clippings but it doesn't look nice in a vid. Thanks for also noticing the edge, not a lot of people do!

  • @kathrynion

    Looks nice. I have a question, though. It seems like you planted the coleus so close together. I guess they still grow well that way? What is the max size of that cultivar?

    • @gardendeeds
      @gardendeeds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, when landscaping, it's important to plant plants close so as to look established already. These coleus I used in this video don't grow much higher, it also depends on what variety you use and under what growing condition it was grown. Have an Awesome day 😁

    • @kathrynion
      @kathrynion ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gardendeeds Thanks for your reply. That is part of what confused me. I assumed (unless a customer wants otherwise, I guess) that when landscaping, one would leave room for the plants to grow....that it naturally will take a llittle while for a bed to have fully mature look. Unless, of course, the plants you're planting are already mature (but if that's the case, they are probably much more expensive than something that has to grow a bit still). Anyway....thanks for your input.
