there hasn't been any comments on here for 2 years but, i just wanted to drop one and tell you how much of a life saver you were when i started on my CD journey! im sure many people out there and watch your video while making them.
Thank you so much for this! I’m getting into sewing to make some cloth diapers for family this year, and this was perfect! Just wish I had a nicer machine but my great grandmas will have to do 😂
So helpful! I was dreading looking for a free pattern because they usually lead me to questionable websites but not only do I get a free pattern but I get a tutorial! My baby is 4 months old and we have been using disposables but wow are they expensive, even with wic they only cover one box a quarter (every little bit helps) I just learned about wool covers but they are $30 a pair even second hand so I’m going to try to make some out of old sweaters.
I love learning how people personalize their child care. I am far away from having kids but am strongly leaning towards cloth for when the time comes. I just switched to cloth period pads and really like it, other than the "gross" factor of solids I don't see a reason not to do cloth and I think that gross factor will be a thing either way. I will probably have to negotiate with my future husband though lol.
I love this tutorial! I was against cloth diapers but now that the gifted diapers are long gone and I have to buy them , I find myself using the few i bought alot more often and I Need more ! I look forward to investing in these items to make cloth diapers . Thanks again for posting
I really appreciate this video. BTW .... I've been sewing for about 40 years and I love your tip on securing the elastic before continuing to thread it through so you don't loose the end. Brilliance! The tool for puncturing is a sewing awl! Not all modern machines need to be oiled but your overlocker/serger should be cleaned and oiled every 4 working hours! Well done on making it easy for others to do this!
I have never even thought about making your own cloth diapers! I'm filing this away for later... You make it look so easy! I'd love more sewing tutorials
Thank you for the superb presentation. I love your natural style of talking through the process while showing us Hands on. I felt as if I were in the room with you. 😊👍🏼
Was so excited for this video, it did not dissapoint! I don't have, nor do I plan to have, children any time soon. Still really want to try this tho.. (yes I'm the weirdo who will make their child's entire wardrobe years before having the actual child. Small garments are just too cute to resist sometimes. And quicker to make too)
I'm veeery far from having a baby and not good at all with sewing machines, and I'm still watching your video, I don't know why but I find this diy mesmerizing
Hello thank u do much I love this it really nice ,pls I need measurements for this pls ,I will be very happy if I can get the measurements for this diaper
I love you showing how to make these, I am a sewer and love the idea of buying a couple to figure out what works then making the rest. What is the overall cost per diy diaper (fabric, elastic, snaps)?
Hello! Love the video!! I do have one question about PUL. Which side of PUL is the good side and which is the wrong side? And which side is going towards baby and side that faces outside?
Thank you so much for this video! I've finally understood the elastic process! I have family members who won't use our cloth too I tell them I've provided diapers if you don't like them you may purchase others and they've been fine with that but I don't know why people are so freaked out by it we're transitioning to underwear and poo accidents happen all the time do people just throw underwear away?
I enjoy these sewing diys with you. Hope to see more as little Charlotte grows up and the things you make for her. Would you be able to make a video on how you service your sewing machine and oil it ?
I really loved your tutorial and your pattern,i hope you can share it to me.I'm 7 mos pregnant and planning to make this cloth diapers but i dont have a pattern. Thank you so much❤️🥰 Love, from Philippines
thanks for this video. I'm new at sewing but your tutorial makes it seem like something i can do, even if the end result isn't as pretty. I want to at least make a couple cloth diapers and try them out to see how I like them.
Very useful. Thanks. Has anyone made some that's actually for adults ( incontenence). I just wonder that if it is made in an adult size, can this be too heavy ? I would stictch together the inner pad to have one big enough. Appreciate it :)
This was such a great video! I am pregnant with my first baby and really want to hop aboard the cloth diapering train. How much would you say it costs to make your own cloth diapers compared to buying them online? Also, how long do you think it takes you to complete one diaper, on average? I am NOT a sewer (yet), so I know it will take me longer, but I am curious as to how long it could potentially take me to make these. Also, thanks for the pattern!!
Stupid question probably but how would this work with disposable liners? I like the idea of using cloth nappies but would quite like to just chuck away a (biodegradable) bit with the poop on rather than having to wash the whole thing every change! Is that how these work?
There are disposable liners that can be used inside the cloth diapers, they almost look like paper towel, but they are bamboo and made for the 💩. You can get 100 for less than $10.00 and they are biodegradable. You still want to stuff the pockets with the liners and if you need extra wetness protection you can still use the regular liner and put the disposable on top.
Hello Victoria. This is a great tutorial. Thanks for posting it. I clicked on the link for the template but it's not going to it. It says I have to send a request...?? Is there another link? Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial, but I can't find the pattern. When I go to the FREE PATTERN site, there are no links except to photos of the tutorial. Is there a pattern that I can use to cut out the diaper? I am used to seeing a pdf file.
What are your thoughts on using a serger to make the diaper? I've heard some people say not to because it creates more holes with more thread. what do you think?
This is a great video and I'm loving it only problem is that the free pattern you have to request access to get it, is there another link to it or do you have the dimensions?
The pattern u have looks bigger then a standard printer. How do I print it? Also sorry if u said it in the video I have volume off cause my hubby is sleeping next to me.
how many yards of fabric is needed my daughter just decided that she wants to try cloth diapers with my 1year old granddaughter and asked me to make them
Hi THANK YOU for this video. My question is: can you reply measurements 📏 of the diaper template?? Length and width. I’m very confused as to what size my printout is suppose to be. I would really appreciate this.
It’ll print on 4 different 8.5x11 sheets. You’ll have to cut and then tape together for your template. Unless you want to purchase a pattern from the store
This may be a silly question, but has anyone created their own pul fabric? Is this possible? I’d think that there would be a way to iron on the material to regular cloth?
I can't print the pattern, the link goes to a blog and the "click here" button leads to google telling me I need to request access? is there an easier way to get to the pattern? If I poke around Arfy's blog there's a page that has several different kinds of cloth diaper patterns of ranging sizes but I just want the one in your youtube video that's one size
It will print on 4-6 8.5X11 sheets. You’ll then cut and tape together for your pattern. Unless you want to go to fabric store and purchase their pattern which will be one piece
A couple of questions: Could you use a serger instead of doing zig zag stitching? Is that a better option? Also, do you have your own pattern that shows your modifications? And if not, would you like help making one?
You could absolutely use a serger, I just don’t have one lol. I do not have my own pattern for the modifications, but the only change I made was cutting off the wings on either side.

Since you just experienced this, how many should I make for my daughter in law. Baby girl in May.
Alot lol , my newborn went through alot of diapers and to keep mommy from washing constantly i think 10-20 will be good

Awesome! Just started experimenting with DIY cloth nappies so so keen for this 🤗
You can also use Bobby pins if you don't have those sewing clips!

You are incredibly talented. ♥️
Hello found your video and loved it do you have any patterns for training pants?
Very nicely explained..
I want to know what type of fabric u have used inside of the diper which is in touch with body.
Awesome video! This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Yes adults sometimes need help with the patern,
Patern is nessasary, no snap needed. Pullup is fine

How did you print the pattern was it into pieces, squares or how I’m stuck
Hello can you tell me what kind of fabric is being used? Thank you
Woohoo! Yessss! So excited for this!

Great tutorial. What is your stitching machine name and model ?
Hi. Where do ypu buy the inserts? or do you make them?
I’m curious to know is it more cost effective to make them or buy them?
We're the f do u find pul fabric that's not online. Can't find it anywhere or what else can be used? Thanks.
I found some at hobby lobby but they only carry white
Hi there . I'm preparing for my little one in 5 weeks. Where do I find the pattern for this video? I can't seem to find it.
Do you think you could do one with double gussets.
Love this tutorial, whats the weight range for these?
Great and really helpful video and thanks for the pattern!
Thank you for the video, but do you sale if someone wants to buy
This is great! Have you had any problems not reinforcing snaps on PUL?
Where do you buy your fabric at?
How much Pul fabric did you need before cutting it down. I am in US and having a hard time finding it in bigger pieces with cute designs.
Does anyone have the pattern? I tried the link, requested access but I don't think anyone is maintaining this anymore.
Could I use my serger or would it create a weird seam?
Hi Victoria
The pattern is for new born how do adjust pattern for medium fit
It says I need to request access to get the free print? I’ve don’t that but I still don’t have access
Same. Such a bummer 😢
Can you make it with something different from PUL? Something not petroleum based?
PUL or TPU is needed for the waterproof layer. Other options used are wool and some heavyweight fleece.

Possibly 6. Depending on newborn/other sizes

I actually just purchased the materials suggested to “make your own”. I’ll circle back to let you know how it goes/holds up

Excellent tutorial.
Does the work for newborns when you use the smallest snaps?
How do you print the pattern to actual size
It will print on 4-6 8.5X11 sheets. You’ll then cut and tape together for your pattern. Unless you want to go to fabric store and purchase their pattern which will be one piece
I’m going to attempt to make at least one cloth diaper, for the cloth you buy. what do you ask for at the fabric store?
You’ll want both PUL fabric (polyurethane laminate) and the inner skin touching would be your choice of flannel, fleece, microfiber.
How do I get this pattern pls
Thanks for this video.

I can’t seem to get the pattern. Any tips???
Can anyone tell me if making them yourself saves money? Fabric costs are so high right now.
Hello
I can't download the pattern.
It's an arfy's pattern she has done so much for people but I have never heard any one give her credit
Just wanted to make sure people didn’t think I was the genius behind this pattern!
I have watched 100's of CD videos and your is by faaaaar tge best. Please tell me which pattern you used on the link provided , theres so many😱
@jessicalowe710 I appreciate you.
So happy I found your channel 💕 this is very helpful. Do you know how much you've saved in costs vs regular diaper use?
Where can I buy the insert fabric??
Did you adapt for newborn? Or have links to how to do so? Thanks!
approximately how much does it cost to make each diaper?
