  • Want a quick crash course of how a solar panel magically makes electricity? Here is a 60 second explanation.
In this video, I will explain how solar panels came about, how a solar cell is constructed, and how it operates using the photoelectric effect to generate DC electricity.
If you are interested in a grid tied solar system for your entire house, these are the experts:

Is there any resources that we can be pointed to to learn more?

Regarding your 100w starter kit, Would you recommend bumping up to the Monocrystalline Solar Panel for the extra 9 bucks if that extra cost was no issue? Thanks
(if know you've covered this topic before, I apologize!)

If you need a smaller form factor then it might be worth the extra cost. But it will not produce more power than the poly.

I read somewhere that there was a newer way to make solar panels that was better using silicon. Dont quote me but I think a company did.

There are newer solar cells made of other materials than silicon. But none are being manufactured in any quantity yet to my knowledge.

I still think I need your starter kit... electricity just isn't my thing

Nothing wrong with that. Putting that kit together and learning how the components work will help you a lot. At least it did for me. I learn best hands on.

Thanks, Delphi! I appreciate the support. And believe me I am not getting rich promoting these products. It is mostly just a way to help people not make some of the expensive mistakes I made when I started.

But please , Don't 30 sec. Too fast

    • @LDSreliance

Yes, 30 seconds would have been too fast. I think I was able to cover the basics in 60 seconds.
