Man I think you should remember that the BA community is this good because of people like you. You had a positive impact on my daily BA content consumption for a long time already. Don't let haters get to you king!
I am a hardcore Suzumi simp, I bought all 500+ Eleph for her from the shop. I am singularly known as the Suzumi Guy, people ping me specifically when she gets the rare art. I stand by my flashbang flinging angel AND her shit musical taste, and I have gotten nothing but respect from the community for it.
I'm not a Suzumi guy but I do like her, she's too forgetful and underrated. She has such a beautiful l2d which makes me like her much more I'll be praying for a 3* alternative of her 🛐
Blue archive works a lot because it is a WAIFU game. The community helps you to motivate yourself to keep playing thought it's other means in the different medium of anime (from its doujins, fan arts, music and etc.). Even myself I still keep playing the game no matter how boring the gameplay because I really care the characters and I do feel self insert myself through it's fan arts, dating or hanging out with students since I owned this type of character in the first place. Other gacha games though doesn't give me motivation to keep playing because they were only usable for gameplay advantage and felt like spending just an idol PNG. I play genshin for almost 3 years, like hu tao, and after 3 years, I just really don't care about her, fan arts doesn't help since it's just drip type fan art rather than hanging out with the mc, also it doesn't help about it since how platonic relationship the game is.
BA is rather platonic too, but the game does make sure the MC has a lot of shades so it ain't just an NCP degree character like Traveler from GI or just another harem degenerate/prude. Outside his unrealistic idealism, Sensei is pretty organic as a character
Getting a character also lets you see their story and explore more about them, sometimes having shades you never expected from them. So even if you're not in it for the gameplay, sparking for a character is still a good way to get more side story out of the game.
@@Left4Cigarettes BA can be platonic, but the game does like you to fantasize beyond such relationship, considering how many of the girls want you to date them. So much so, that it's canon law in the game to allow such things to happen.
every gacha game i think is platonic. thats why usually you see gacha player juggling their gacha game. and play like 3-4 games doing dially everyday. i myself play 3 games too, HSR, BA, and ZZZ the recent. i just cant add more game because i like to play other game too with my friend, i wanna read my Visual Novel too, or read web novel, even marathon some series even i starting workout to tone down ky weight. i dont wanna fill my everyday wakeup and doing 5-6 gacha dially man, feels sad 😢
I don't play BA but I always find the community so chill, unlike that one gacha game that makes an impact (pun intended). This community is what it feels like to be an anime fans back in 2010s, no toxicity, no arguing which one is better, just fun niche community who likes to discuss their hobbies (if I'm wrong, at least that's what I experienced back when everyone was using Facebook).
And you can see that BA's community is so incredibly good that a bunch of Hoyoverse communities are trying to replicate this amazing and refreshing aura by spamming the cunny meme on their social medias, but it ends that their toxicity can't afford to use it correctly because they'll never be so chill and nice like BA fans. They always end in war in their own territory, meanwhile senseis just having fun and chitchats with each other about which student is prettier/cutest/hott3r, anyway. They just don't know that the thing is not just about the cunny meme, but about how good and receptive senseis are to people who have a sane mind and know how to differentiate things. Senseis are in majority awesome. They're too toxic for that. Neither hoyo (especially hoyo) or any other community will ever reach the levels of base and culture on BA's community.
Hoyo communities can't because they are multipandering and its filled with minors who grew up with a phone/tablet. Ship wars are a common sight, moral playground(extremely unnecessary in the world of fantasy entertainment) only leads to unnecessary fights and lead nowhere. For those of us who've already been through all that, we know how it ends so we don't bother "fixing" what's lost for good
@@ajidanang9508 Not just them, I often see a bunch of those people on youtube too, there's a whole part of Hoyo we1rdos dedicated to misuse and spam the cunny meme like that (when it's not for the other IoIis like Nahida, for example).
@@scharf1112 Ibuki's probably not very puffy, she looks rather thin compared to Kokona/Shunny juicier bodies. She is still hot though and her art is easily top 3
I love this game so much and I love this community so much. The only time I've ever felt the motivation to finish and release an album, and it was a BA album. This game motivated my art so much. I love these characters so much. The genuine love the devs have for the community is unreal. And honestly I feel the same about the gameplay, but hey, this is a visual novel first and a game second, and that's okay. That's why I love the game. God I wish I could rail Kokona and Shunny, preferably at the same time.
I myself came from league of legends and genshin communities so when i started playing Blue archive back in 0.5. I, was, blown away. I never though it was possible to have a community that was so nice, amazing, kind, accepting. I felt like i could actually be myself and didn't have to deal with toxic people or needed to watch my own words. the community is the best i have ever seen in my life. I have not been in every community of everything (physically don't have time to do that) but blue archive is an amazing stand out by how top tier the community is.
We don't even need to gatekeep Normies and tourists look at us and keep their distance by their own choice They'll never understand the philosophical debate that goes into how cute and also how plappable Ibuki is...
Gatekeeping. It's such an important thing for a healthy community. The moment you let tourists in it's over. I lost so many franchises I grew up with to tourists. You need to protect your hobby and your people at all cost
gatekeeping usually has a negative connotation but this is 100% correct. gatekeeping is, and always has been, a good thing. gatekeeping is the only way a community can self regulate, and gatekeeping is what ensures a community only changes in positive ways favorable to everyone
The only drama I've seen recently is the hatred the English localization has gotten for messing with the Korean script and toning down language around student being romantic toward Sensei or cringe/inaccurate humor inserts where they don't belong. Simply have not seen anything near the levels other games have gotten.
to me it looks like some kind of deep gatekeeping. BA fans don't just want to keep undesirables out of the community, they're motivated enough to keep them from messing with the localization as well and making it unfaithful to the original. impressive.
What always impressed me in BA is how *every single character* is likable. Regardless of your tastes, it's literally impossible to dislike any of the girls. All of them are unique in their own way, each with a layer of vulnerability and cuteness that makes them human. It's not like Genshin where you have people sending death threats because of a character they hate XD. People can say what they want about BA, but at least we're happy, unlike most other gacha communities.
BA drama is great because it's *very rarely* drama between players/fans, and usually is instead drama about how much we hate getting fucked around with by everyone else. We don't really fight each other, not seriously. Instead the community gets riled up when - as you said in the video- tourists, localizers, and what-have-you decide they need to tell us how to enjoy our students and our game. That's when you'll see BA fans riot. It won't be because of a bunny skin, or because there's not enough dark skinned characters (wtf is genshin smoking rn?), but because people OUTSIDE the community, those who aren't fans of the game, try to tell us we're wrong for playing it, for enjoying it. We've managed to gatekeep ourselves incredibly well over the last two and a half years, and I hope that it continues to succeed in the future.
One of the things I love about Blue Archive is that the game filters itself. I can post the most down-bad "would" about Mutsuki, or infodump about Haruka (who is a total sweetie), and no one's going to care, because the Normies and Hoyoweebs got filtered by the "cnuuy 😭" memes.
Mutsuki is what got me in, but Kokona, Shunny, Kisaki and even Ibuki are all my type. A game with many characters like those was a blessing, I seriously hope they expand BA into non-live service games, maybe some TRPG, like how their initial idea was

Let's not forget that many big youtubers unironically use BA's OST in a lot of gaming clips and compilations, ESPECIALLY Unwelcome School and Usagi Flap. The OST is so catchy and upbeat that even a lot of people who never heard of the game before would enjoy it.
BA community is one of the few or the only one that actually bring back the legacy of communities back in the day, since the community actually makes evrything funny as in the past.
Now’s actually a pretty good time to start BA. We’re like two weeks away from anniversary and the special double rate up banner with a 6% chance for the highest rarity pulls. It’s a good way to build a strong starting roster. No, I’m not being paid to say this, I just like BA.
To the people who scream the hard P word at people who enjoy games like Blue Archive, anime or other things that have characters like it in it?? ITS A BLOODY GAME, THE CHARACTERS ARE NOT REAL. Its a fictional drawing animated and a great thing for those who love it and are able to make that seperation Keep weebing and keep loving anime my fellow weebs, Im with you all the way o7
and don't get me start with people who more accepting to killing of a fictional childlike character and even cerebrating it somehow concept of "not liking fictional children getting kill doesn't equal to liking the fictional children" is unknown to them
Tbh, I doubt BA will ever get a pc port because of how sensei’s stuff works. His Shittim chest is supposed to represent our phone or tablet we play the game on, and his credit card represents our credit card in a way. They are very on point with it all, so unless he gets a PC in the game it’s not happening.
Unfortunately, there's costs too BA can dump the money into a PC port but why? There are emulators already that do it for free. No incentive for what would be an improvent of an existing QOL
BA has literally made me strive to be a better person because of its story. I don't think I've ever experienced that before. It has also made me more openly degenerate. It's liberating.
The one gacha community with an official emoji ? 😭😭😭 ... for the game to consistently have over 100k views at every official announcement livestream, it says a lot how big we are. Oh and probably because it's mainly just dudes.
i dont even know why i picked up blue archive and i dont really participate in the community so maybe i can only say so much, but it is infinitely so much more of a pleasing sight to see people be so unabashedly honest instead of trying to be on some moral high ground, keep being true to yourself BA community 👍 sry i mean uooh sob sob cunny cunny 😭💢
I think Nikke and BA communities are great because those are not main stream games. Never open the gates to tourists. Keep the community small, keep the game niche. That's how you keep the community nice and healthy.
Blue Archive community is extreme in a way. So people who enjoy this will enjoy this a lot and those who don't will hate it. So that is why we can separate people away, and there is no moment like controversial or heated debate like some other game. If someone says "Loli = Bad" or "Fan service = Bad" the BA community can cut it away by "Then go away, this is not a place for you", all of this has made the argument end really really fast and that means less hateful in community.
BA community is the most nicest comunity despite having the most sus content, they never harm real life people and always keep their fantasy inside their head
Hello, This is my first month of blue archive. I've taken a liking to koyuki. Every blue archive player is so free, You can express yourself in this community without being hated. Before playing, i thought the community is horrible. I can express myself without being hated, I want to thank the community and the players for the great experience. I love all of you. -from Koyuki Degenerate.
The BA community know what the game is trying to tell. It's okay to get bad things, what's the matter, is how you accept things. Even if it's for a short time, how hard it is, someone had to take responsabilities. The game itself had a wholesome perspectiv about thing and give us the job as sensei who is one of the most important job on the world. We may be stranger to other, but we are not to professor. Reaching what is not understandable is where all miracle begin. The community work well between player, content maker and developper. Developper give what player needed, player give what content maker want. Content maker show to dev how much player enjoy. As a Sumire Enjoyer, she think everything can be reach with training. It's not wrong at all. I don't do workout, but training is what can outclass talented people (Smile at Lee and Gai) and can be transposed to another domain. We see humanity among students and we show how it should be the way.
Hinata's live2d card is legitimately one of my favorite and heartbreaking pieces of art from this game.. mainly because she is a massive workaholic, and Sensei recognized she needed a break. Always makes sure to give her plenty of headpats so she doesn't forget to take those breaks.
Honestly, this so much. The community is so unified and harmonious that it's such a breath of fresh air. There may be some drama here and there but it's nothing that gets blown out way beyond proportion. I'm a gachaslop enjoyer, and unfortunately that means I'm witnessing the dregs of hoyoverse game fandoms everywhere I go. Gives me a headache just thinking about how loud and annoying they are. Then I look at Blue Archive and suddenly my headache is gone. We're all amazing people here, and don't let anyone say otherwise!
As a fellow BA player i love how you described the comiunity and i hope that all this will never end. (sorry if i mispelled sometingh im italian and im not realy good whit english) I rember starting the game for hina and hoshino and i never stop playng. i hope this comiunity will continue to prosper and grow love yall.
The music does so much to set the tone for this game. Much like Lucas' Star Wars trilogies, it's hard to imagine Blue Archive could have been what it is today without the music. Of course, all the other elements are on-point, as well, but the music elevates it to the extraordinary.
I got into BA last month because of some really cool and cute Hina fanart that appeared on my Twitter feed. I’m not a fan of the gameplay (I’ve read guides about a bunch of gameplay terms and acronyms I don’t understand) but I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy the main story, the music, and the characters. Can’t really speak to the community yet but I’ll take your word for it being filled with mostly good people.
The best part is ,no matter what games you re playin. As long as theres "cunny" characters in it they'll be there too 😆 and am all for it, they never argue or make any drama with their own fandom, they just there and crying together lol 😆😆
TBH, blue archive's community is very similar to gated early 2000s communities. I think that it's supposed to be this way. I remember Kurzgesagt made a video about the internet.
Honestly I cried with Hifumi speech. I love this game for it's character and they story. Went to the Dokomi Event (anime convention) dressed as sensei and the people who recognize which character is was dressing and they faces lighted up because I genuinely enjoyed the game and got some BA merch along the way. The people were awesome. Not hate. It's fun how much BA community is just chilling and joking around with cunny jokes and enjoying the content we get.
I actually did not start playing for the characters. I did not start playing for the gacha. I was interested in the story. I've never concerned myself with what the community does, whether I agree with it or not... it doesn't matter. People enjoy what they want. I enjoy the story. And to say I've been inspired by the story isn't wrong. I completed the story mode as of writing. I hope there will be more, and I hope it will be just as good. What made me start playing Blue Archive was a silly reason. I wanted to search for more animes to watch. That's when I found Blue Archive (the anime). I took a while to decide, but I eventually decided to start playing the game first to get more lore understanding before watching the anime. I then later found out that the anime only covers the first part of the foreclosure task force... but regardless, the story had me hooked, and now I will play the game and see it to the end. It's a great game, and I'm glad I gave it a shot.
Highly appreciated that you talked about the community. Kinda weird that a game with such a bad stigma has a very good fanbase. Never been into a game with all-girl characters before, but this game grew into me, thanks to the heartwarming characters and decent community. Also, it's great to know someone loves Izuna. My main is Momiji, though, but I also like Izuna's cheery personality.
Something that often not highlighted that I love about BA is the Story mode separated with the game stage progression. It looks like not that game-changing but it makes players progress the stages without skipping the story, thus we can enjoy the story whenever we like. I never seen any gacha game do this
That's also why it's so welcoming. Granted, unless it's Mihoyo's bloated storytelling nonsense, I usually don't skip cutscenes. But it's nice to have a straight visual novel so well written, you feel like it's worth spending your money on just to reward the devs and make more.
@@LoliconSamalikmihoyo storytelling? More like SPACEBAR DESTROYER Honestly i stopped playing gi because of that Too verbose and meaningless for my taste especially on liyue
Yea, like i could spend 2 hours watch the first chapter off final arc, claim reward and call it a day, a lil bit downside that sometime they make us use our student, but everyday grinding and even with starting student and upgrade to minium of lv50, t3 equipment, not maxed out lv skill, it still easy to complete one

It's good because it's gatekept. Drama, yuri shippers, virtue signalling etc is all called out the second someone tries to disrupt the community. It was built from nothing when BA struggled as a gacha game during initial release, and the community grew accordingly. BA, being initially unknown, allowed for it to grow unhindered by Twitter freaks to the point where it was too large to infiltrate.

I love BA and it's community so much, I definitely wanna come back and talk to the people. Even though I haven't been playing the game much, just knowing that people here gatekeep those annoying tourist away and keeping this community drama free really warms my heart. Almost everywhere on the internet these day people act all high and mighty like their the most moral person ever (especially on twitter holy shit I can't stand it), it just get's so mentally draining. Knowing that I can openly say what I enjoy about the characters and still being treated like a human being puts a smile on my face every time.
you're either someone who has no comminatory taste nor moral consuetude you tunnel yourself through hebdomadally whatsoever, or an admittedly tachyonically hupaithric criminal who has dredged up such lentiginous pride in unencumberedly gatekeeping a pest for a game that this is... you would wuss your way out of any reverberation upon having been arrhythmically radged to your demise for taking a fixation on this economic product of a fanzine for a certain kind of people who will never be socially reintegrated with any legalistic way you could ingratiatingly probabilize. another classic 👃"happenstance". take galliambically gallus relish in your "game". may god all mighty have mercy on you for i will not if i ever encounter you irl.
Wonderful video! You really get across what you love about this game and the surrounding community. I agree on most points, but I fail to fully agree on the lack of drama. For the most part, yeah, it's chill, but one of my close friends are a yuri artist that was very open about her ships between characters. She wasn't walking around shoving yuri in people's faces, and yet when the anime started releasing and the pushback towards tourists skyrocketed, she was unfortunately targeted for being a "yurif*g", doxxed, and regularly got threats from people who said yuri doesn't belong in BA. I'm not a fan of yuri myself, but ever since this I've been soured from the community I used to love.
As a sensei, I'd like to apologize. There was an incident before I joined the subreddit in with a toxic yuri shipper souring the community hard on the idea of yuri ships. Everyone had to collectively agree to get the user banned for bad behavior, because the mods weren't doing anything. (That said, getting doxed is definitely going too far.) Besides that, it's probably a decent reminder that many of the people in the community do come from the doujinshi sphere (where BA dominates), and as such, many senseis do push back when people try to get the pendulum to go in the opposite direction when the pendulum swings towards "no-yuri" extreme. It doesn't help that characters such as Ako canonically do show strong signs of affection for Hina. Just remember to not push the pendulum back into the opposite extreme.
yeah, yurishipping is badly received, it's not for bad reasons though as yuri does open doors to other stuff which is pretty bad, it also dilutes the likeminded community
@@Left4Cigarettes I'm not entirely in agreement, because I've seen plenty of chill senseis in the BA community when it comes with yuri. Chances are, if you can already get pass the humor and massive appreciation of l0licons with ease (which is a pretty thick filter as is due to how many moralistic people can't swallow their shallow pride for their happiness) you're already a pretty chill person and deserve a place there. _Humor is the filter, not hostility._ Because if hostility continues, the community is gonna pull the UNO reverse card and said people who do such things gonna be the one to get gatekept and treated like the rest of the problem tourists. So do be mindful of the method, sensei. There's gonna be a massive psychological butterfly effect if such a problem gets too big or common, and I just don't want that to happen.
since I have basically 0 knowledge about BA or even play it, I might as well be a tourist, but when it comes to looking into game communities, I am always on the lookout for memes first to review a community. And this community passes with flying colors, it's very cute (and funny).

I love both games and both communities, yall weirdos but you're my weirdos and I wouldn't ask for anyone else it's the best community ❤
Its funny how true thie video is about gatekeeping. I left a comment on a BA meme that just basically said "lol p*dos" just to see the reaction, and not only did they destroy me in the comments they upvoted me just enough to be seen on that front page to get roasted.
The game continued to grow and so did the community and here we are today, the game is already great and with this community we get everything we need to keep this game perfect

@@LoliconSamalik oh yeah, and they did it with Shunny so even better

I love the BA community, it's very chill and the art offical and fan made are immaculate, also the gameplay is pretty enjoyable too.

As a wise man once said: "The crying emoji seems to be what's keeping us together in the chat" 😭😭😭💢💢💢
A game with many characters like those was a blessing, I seriously hope they expand BA into non-live service games, maybe some TRPG, like how their initial idea was
You really love Izuna XD i respect that

This almost feels like the Touhou community of the ol' times...

Before playing, i thought the community is horrible. I can express myself without being hated, I want to thank the community and the players for the great experience.

(That said, getting doxed is definitely going too far.)
Besides that, it's probably a decent reminder that many of the people in the community do come from the doujinshi sphere (where BA dominates), and as such, many senseis do push back when people try to get the pendulum to go in the opposite direction when the pendulum swings towards "no-yuri" extreme.

@@LoliconSamalik it may not but it does attract that people, hence why I have no issues with yuri but their fans can stay as far as possible

As an o.g. fate fan who's enjoyed FGO and the rest of the nasuverse over several decades
Blue archive is the first game since FGO to equal it in story telling AND characters, while surpassing its gameplay to an extent.
@@akumati86 too bad this method doesn't work all the time , especially on me , I'm still around .
"upvoted just so it could be front page'd"
5D chess move right there
That just means they are prime trolling targets.
The game continued to grow and so did the community and here we are today, the game is already great and with this community we get everything we need to keep this game perfect
Izuna is best girl. Period. Out of any anime. Out of any game. Izuna is perfection.
