I had the same problem with my Weber DCNF conversion on a Panhard engine using a K7N filter, cured the aggressive and noisy induction noise by fitting a re-worked Mini air filter assembly. It completely solved my issues, not sure if you have the headroom, but it’s probably a simpler outcome.

Even now, it won't fit under the original engine cover and you're seeing it without the 6" intake venturis on top. It was all really just for looks.
