I feel bad for today’s youth …we are the last generation to know Life without these phones , intranet , social media ext . We used to have to ask girls out to their face . Knock on the door and shake the dad’s hand . When we wanted to get hold of someone ..we called ! I miss that time . The world is insane now
i don't feel bad for them - technology is a beautiful thing - social skills might need work haha but phones and internet allow me to stay in touch with people i love and make money while travelling and living abroad. The coin always has two sides - but i definitely missed the human element too, until we moved out of North America. The human element is very much alive outside N. Am - so not all is lost! Thanks for watching!
completely agree with this. I hated working in an office. I now work for myself, I earn less but I am SO MUCH HAPPIER. Money isn't everything. You only get one life, do what you love as much as you can!
Jay, I loved this video! My whole life has always been so different than the norm. You know my favorite word is “no”. I have always felt different than the rest of my family and friends. I always did the unpopular things, and I’ve always felt joy and fulfillment in what I do. I wear what I like to call my “mom uniform”. I wore the same thing my whole career so when I got out, I just wanted to wear something practical. I wear the same 5 shirts and same 5 leggings every day. Then I dress up when I want to- date night and girls night! It works for me and I’m dressed in 1 minute! When my kids are older it might change, but until then, I stand by my mom uniform 😂
I have always been the one to walk to the beat of my own drum in my family for sure. There’s just so much more to see and do; none of which can be experienced by sitting in someone else’s office for 40 years. Stacey and I can “clean up nicely” too and it’s fun to dress up sometimes.. but 29 outta 30 days it’s cut-off cargos and flip flops haha Glad you like it :)
Brilliant truth! I am older than GenX but live, breathe, and teach living by your own compass.. When I quit a steady career on total faith and followed my true joy years ago, it was the best decision I've ever made. You've got it figured out and it is wonderful to see more and more people speaking up about the way life is truly meant to be lived! Bless you. I'm going to be sharing this with lots of people!
Such truly wonderful advice, Jay! I'm very proud for you and happy for you that you have learned all this at such a young age!! I'm 67 years old and I'm just now learning most of what you talk about. So, it's never to late! :-) Thank you!
It can definitely be so isolating- but that’s one of the reasons I do this and have also created a membership community of like-minded “against-the-grainers” about supporting each other’s etsy and amazon journeys :) You’re not alone!
It's only isolating as the toxic people are purged from your day to day, either by yourself or they take themselves out when they discover you are no longer one of their punching bags. But then, something amazing happens and you automatically start attracting more positive thinking individuals into your life. Whether you believe in "auras" or not, since I started doing this several years ago, I can walk into a room full of strangers now and pick out the positive people pretty easily. The negative/fake people stand out like sore thumbs! What energy you put out comes back to you.
This is so good. I have so much to say but let me just add a couple things. As a Boomer, even I can relate to what you’re saying about education. I have a BBA (from York U) and two college certificates, all have not gotten me anywhere. It’s like you say, it’s not that higher education isn’t important as it will work for some people but I’ve been saying it for YEARS now - if you’re working for someone else, you’re simply working to make them or that company rich and your own life will likely end up as a dead end. I’m just sorry I learned this lesson late in life and missed out on some interesting opportunities. And as for nationalism … I applaud you on that one. I was born in Toronto but was lucky enough to have lived in the Caribbean for 12 years in my 30s and early 40s before coming back to Canada. Now I’m looking to move out of Canada again! Yes, Canada is a great country but it’s not the best country and until you’ve traveled you really don’t understand this. I long for a day when we actually don’t have borders anymore! I realize that this is a utopian pie-in-the-sky idea but the world would be a much better place because we really need to get rid of xenophobia and understand each other better. Again, thanks for this video!

100%!! It's NOT a dress rehearsal or practice run - it's *ONE-AND-DONE* , so get busy living!

I appreciate you Philip! Thanks for the support man!
