    The people who tried to convince you not to report the abuse are as guilty as your abuser was!
    This is a very inspiring TED talk. Thanks for sharing your experience!

    Courage.. You have it!
    Show The world the door of this prison...
    That there are locks on the inside and the outside..

      Courtney, Yes! I love that - 'the world the door of this prison'. To your point, it makes me think of Helen Keller's quote, "Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it." The struggle is real (can I get an Amern!?) but so is hope, and so is redemption.

    I really want to work at an organization that helps to stop child trafficking/human trafficking. I'm extremely passionate about this cause I want to do my part and help them out! But I don't know which is the right path for me to get started. I have a stable job at the moment but I know this is what I actually want to do. I want to help those children. Any tips and advice would be highly appreciated.

      neda aziz it’s called the police

    • @fsamaroo337
      @fsamaroo337 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is not the police, I a, currently taking a Human Trafficking class in college and there are so many different ways to get involved. First, you can try your county to see if they have a department that specializes in HT. Also, there are organizations that specializing in HT. You can also check your county and or state to see if they have a department for HT.

      @@fsamaroo337 Great suggestions! PS Which college? It's amazing to see classes on it! When I first started working in anti-trafficking efforts - it was such a new idea and there was no education on it. So great!

      Jessica could you list a few organisations you work for or have associated with in the past? Would love to hear of the work you do in South Asia when you visit every one & half years. I need help but more than that I want to help. Your comment could mean freaking so much

      It's a problem when the families are who put the kid into the trafficking because it's economic. And when education is too expensive and jobs don't pay. There's a root problem.

    They say: The one who feels safe from punishment will be impolite. Most of our problems is feeling safe from the punishment so everyone will do what comes to his mind to satisfy his lust. Those who have conscious and Faith have a moral barrier that hold them from wrong doing. Those who commit crimes and offend others see no one but themselves so no expectation that one day they will feel sorry for their victims, only the right punishment will show them the reality of their souls.

    One has to ask, How can children be treated so cruelly? We must understand that whenever we use dehumanizing language, we are making it possible for children and adults to be abused. The next time you call someone dirt, excrement, dog, cat, furniture, food, drink, ice, water....you are helping to sexually abuse these children. So head on out to your fried chicken, or your hamburger, or your ice cream or your Bar-B-Que, enjoy it while you think about an 8 year old being raped or sold into prostitution. Come on janitors and laundry people, we need you to "clean up the dirt" for your church by sending more 12 year olds into drug addiction and sex slavery. Pardon me while I throw up over your understanding of Christianity.

      Thanks, Vara, for your comment. Yes, this topic is so difficult and hard to address - there are so many different reasons trafficking and abuse continues.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. These are quite challenging and messy conversations to have and sort through. Let's keep chatting through it - the more we dialogue the better.
