Wow that looks amazing! Like being on vacation full time. Happy sailing 🛳️
Thank you very much!
I’ve read comments from people just trashing this couple and another who also does some content. Why? They are doing what they want. I can’t think anywhere they’re asking for anyone’s opinion of what they chose. Godspeed to you on your journey.
Thank you very much for your support!
@@sunnykel7573I learned a long, long time ago never try to figure out anyone else’s marriage dynamics and fit it into my box of understanding. My comment was directed more towards really hateful comments about their financial decision and lifestyle choice. I thought the attacks were out of bounds and unnecessary. As far as how they treat each other, your guess is as good as mine in that regard.
I wouldn't bother pointinv out the negative. We're mostly adult enough to be aware of the trolls, but feeding them makes them happy.
@@shellirk2819it’s more than trolls. And I refuse to bend my knee.
Good on you both for living the dream
This was so much fun to watch. Put a big smile on my face. You two are so positive and wonderful to see you living your best life and bringing us along. Wishing you all the best!
Thanks for watching and welcome aboard!
Wow, the spa facilities look great! How nice to be able to finish work on your laptop and then head downstairs for a spa session 🥰 The perfect work/life balance 👌😀
It really is, thanks for watching!
I don't know if I could, nor if I would, but I'm definitely glad that you could 🙂 Looking forward to see more of your upcoming adventure !

Right!!!!
I think I could spend my entire life right there on ship in the in the Belfast harbor. I love it
It’s a lovely ship and Belfast has been good to us but we’re all eager to sail away!
Ty for the wonderful tour. I’m extremely jealous, but I’m also excited for you both.
Thank you very much, come join us!
Not gonna lie it looks heavenly. I could get used to that buffet seems amazing to have so much variety.
It was very good but this is just the beginning. Everything will be stepped up a notch once we leave Belfast.
@@livinglifeonacruise so every meal is included free, or there are some restaurants that you pay for?
We adored all of our holidays on this ship when she was in regular passenger service. She is just the right size to do the fjords and cities. No other ship comes close, we miss her. I hope you have an amazing time and we will be watching with interest. Congratulations and hope you both enjoy your adventures 👏🏻🛳️
We really like the size and layout of this ship. She’s got a good feel. Thanks for your support and welcome aboard!
I'm so glad you're happy. Enjoy your lives.
Thank you so much!
You popped up on my feed tonight totally in awe of you guys. You only get one go at life enjoy every minute what a way to spend the next 15 years seeing the world plus you will make lots of nee friends. It’s a great ship we really love it. Thanks for watching!

Great tour of the boat. I would gain 50 pounds very quickly with all that great food. Lanette is a good dancer and I like you rockin the Haole shirt...hahaa
Thanks coach, love ya!
I'm loving your channel, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoy it!
Wonderful! I was waiting for your ship's tour! Those spa and salon prices are fabulous! They are exactly what I would be paying in my current Midwest town and 1/2 the price I would pay if I were living back at my Boston roots or on any big commercial cruiseline for that matter. These are the little things that will keep the smiles plentiful!
I totally agree!
Will enjoy watching your journey! We love to cruise 🚢 too!
Awesome, welcome aboard!
wow what a experience you both will have once sailing . it’s not for everyone but that’s the beauty of it we get to follow you all on ur lifetime of making memories together ! i’m excited to follow along .
Thanks and Welcome aboard!
She is great dancer
lol, indeed!
Beautiful! Have fun guys! Thanks for the tour!
Our pleasure, welcome aboard!
Totally surreal watching these videos, especially this one. I randomly stumbled across one of your videos as a youtube suggestion, and quickly recognised the ship.
This was a Fred Olsen cruise lines ship called the 'Braemar', and it primarily served us Brits.
The wife and I have enjoyed so many wonderful holidays on this ship, exploring Europe, Russia, and the Bahamas between 2006 and around 2018. I know every inch of that ship and reminisced over everything you showed here. Even some of the furniture, carpets, and artwork is unchanged (along with the names of all of the areas of the ship).
Fingers crossed it all works out for you guys. Enjoy it.
Thank you so much for sharing, it’s a beautiful ship with a great layout. We’re looking forward to seeing the world on this vessel.
Lynette, you've got some moves gal! Every day should be a ME Day - Enjoy
She’s my dancing queen!
Looks like an amazing adventure awaits you two!! I'm so happy for you!
Thank you so much!!
This looks like a wonderful adventure for you both! I am interested to follow along as you video journal it for us! Hope to see many more from you.😊
I hope so too, welcome aboard!
Aloha from Hawaii! Really enjoying your vlogs and I'm so excited to follow your journey; can't wait until you are out to sea. Your "HAOLE" t-shirt cracks me up! Lynette can boogie! Cheers!
Aloha and thanks for following along. Not many people caught that. Thanks for watching!
When you said "Coral Club"I thought you said "Choral Club" and thought "Oh COOL! They can sing in a choir, or sing Barber Shop if they want. That's healthy! Singing is so good for the body and soul." Imagine my disappointment when I realized it was just a bar.
I do hope they will have community hobby groups, like quilting, woodworking, painting, and gardening, as well as fitness, swimming, and dancing. Ceramics would be a challenge I imagine, but I really do think all people need a place to work their arts
It must be my Swedish accent shining through against the Coral Club😂
I’m not on top of what classes and communities we’ll have but I know it’s in the works.
Looks great guys, just hoping it all works out, I think I might have waited till it did at least one circumnavigation of the World to see what the future holds even though it may cost a bit more.
Good luck though it does seem wonderful.
Fingers crossed!
I’m so looking forward to following you both! It will be a great experience !
I hope so too!
Wow - so much work has been done in the last few weeks (when I first subscribed) - departure must be getting closer 🤞🤞
Fingers crossed indeed!
Lovely ship!
Yes she is!
I wish I could afford a venture like this! I love cruises and to be able to travel without leaving home sounds fantastic!
That’s what’s appealing to us.
Man, this looks like a great time. will be nice to see how long before the sea life gets tiring. will be following but, not sure if I'll be around for 15 years. Have fun and do you tip during food, bar ect.
I totally agree, we will see how we feel about it after a while but we’re willing to give it a shot!
Beautiful decks, cruise ship living looks so appealing ❤
We think we’re going to love it.
That was a fantastic tour
Thank you!
Sounds and looks absolutely beautiful. Who knows…may see you both sail by my home in Newfoundland someday Enjoy 😊
It sure does, and hopefully we will!

Good for you, I wish you luck , I sailed on this ship in 2008 when it was Braemar! X
Great, it’s a beautiful ship!
Thanks for the tour! Lynnette, I'm so envious of your spa time!
You are so welcome!
Nice looking ship 🚢 food looks good.
It is!
It really looks lovely on your ship. Those prices seem very reasonable too for the “pampering”. Glad that you are enjoying yourselves and keeping busy. Evthing on your ship looks very nice 💖🍀🇨🇦
We love it!
@@livinglifeonacruise 😊
I’m glad you’re happy but I couldn’t be penned up in that small cabin and see the same people every day for 15 years
It's pretty much the same thing in any neighborhood and job...you see the same people where you live and work...just sayin
If you have a few cruises under your belt (I've done a dozen) you don't really stay locked in your room. There are tons of desolate spaces on the ship where you'll find you quiet space. Most people who cruise usually like meeting others and enjoy some social settings. However, if you are more introverted it may not be a good fit for a long term situation.
I think you would need to be an extrovert and people person to be happy long term with this arrangement. I'm an introvert with social anxiety, so I could never do this! But I wish you both all the best!
@@brandyjanik66 I cruise with my sisters bc we are all a bit more outwardly social. My husband on the other hand is a more private person and prefers to keep to himself. As a couple, we could not embark on this as it wouldn’t be fair to him. I will live vicariously through these videos as I am so excited to watch their journey unfold!
Looks like fun ! Have a good trip!
Thanks for the update❤
No problem 😊
Nice!!! The dinner looks yummy!
Those ribs were delicious!
The improvements since last video are stunning. Would love to live on a cruise ship!

7,000 exactly 🌈✝️🕊️😇😚🥰😘 pickleball seems a mix between table tennis/ping pong and badminton ..I’d never heard of it until I came across your channel x x x The cruise ship’s looking lovely now x x x great video x x x
Your voice reminds me of Tom Hanks x x x
And Jack Black a little too x x x
Absolutely and thank you!
What happens when you want to visit family? Do you go for a week or so then catch up with the ship at some port? 15yrs is a long time to commit too, who owns the ship, what’s their history in owning and maintaining ships.. do you have to pay for cabin Reno and a monthly maintenance and where are the people? A retirement village, hair, nails, dining room.. 😮When do you leave port? So many questions 😂
That’s a lot of questions. You’ll have to check out Villa vie residences website. Thanks for watching!
From what I've heard it's about $100k to $150k to buy in and about $3,500 per month, depending on the cabin. They travel the world every 3.5 years and can hop off, rent out their cabin for someone to use on a leg of the trip. I think family can come on board to visit as well.
It seems medical is free on board but obviously local rates apply wherever they land and visit hospital or Dr's.
The ship is being fitted and most are chomping at the bit to get going after many delays. Some passengers have taken other cruises in the meantime or are renting in Belfast to stay close to the ship. They are allowed to come and go but I believe not allowed to sleep on board yet.
Many are already doing up their rooms to make them homely and solve storage problems by buying storage solutions.
@@livinglifeonacruise but you live on board and it’s your video, do you not know the answers?
Thanks for sharing the tour
Glad you enjoyed it
I would be so afraid of the ship company going bankrupt…
We’re not worried about that right now.
You don't have to purchase a cabin to enjoy this ship and the lifestyle. You can purchase no-risk, pay-as-you-go, refundable segments. All-inclusive and less expensive than most cruise ships.
Thanks for this.
Any time, thanks for watching!
Well, I would have very little interest in spa, the gym would be my favourite place, especially the bikes at the window 😃
You and me both!
Is this ship for residents only or is it like a normal cruise ship with some live-in quarters…looks fun. Don’t think
I could do it, but I hope y’all love it!
The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments.
Wish I could join you two! What an awesome adventure! Have you found out yet when you set sail!? 🚢🚢🚢🚢❤
Hopefully at the end of the week.
That dry dock looks enticing😅
We’re out of dry dock now.
So fun!
Indeed, thanks for watching!
You two are living the dream! I love it! Question, how do you get your snail mail? And what happens if you are asked to do jury duty? (If you’re from USA) I’m a new subscriber so I’m just now following your journey. Sorry if these questions may have been answered.
They have an office address in Florida. They will forward the mail to the ship. Don’t know about jury duty. Thanks for subscribing.
Your hair looks great!
Oh thank you!
Have you been doing much touring around Belfast? Any updates on the sea trials?
Not this time around. Also we have no news on the sea trials.
What meals or dining rooms are included as well as drinks and what is your cost for those not included
All meals are included in all dining rooms except the Grampian on deck 8. As of now I think it will be an extra charge but I haven’t seen the menu yet. Two alcoholic beverages are included with each meal.
Yall are gonna know every nook and cranny, and the layout of the ship before it sets sail. Big plus maybe even some short cuts to share with new peeps lol. Hoping yall get to set sail soon
We sure will and we’re really eager to set sail.
Btw...love Belfast weather 😂😂😂
It’s lovely isn’t it😂 but similar to the weather where I grew up in Sweden
Is it true that departure keeps getting put on hold?
Yes
To be honest with you I’ve heard another one of these cruise ships has declared bankruptcy . Hopefully you have some protection hearing this ship should have left the dock months ago sends up some red flags.
We believe in this project.
Great tour. The public spaces are really looking great now, except for the carpeting but maybe that is coming soon?
Question: if you decide to leave the ship for say a 30-day segment does the monthly fee remain the same?
Yes, it does, but we can rent it out.
Nooo ... It had to be a Bud Light ... 😂😂
🤣 to my defense, it was early in the day, and I had to pace myself🤣
@@livinglifeonacruise It's not that its a beer, because I'm right there with you on that. It's the fact that it's a Bud Light ... 😁
Lol
Wow just found you tonight. What an amazing thing to do. One question, is the ship just for people like you who have bought the cabin or will it be the public coming and going all the time?
More videos please, cant wait to see how this goes :)
The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments. Thanks for watching!
I have two questions... How will tipping be handled? Will there be vacationing cruisers on the ship? Thank you in advance 🌻🍄 Oh, i thought of a third, do you think the lines will blur between crew and residents after a bit? In land life sometimes we form friendships with others we meet during life's regular business. A nanny will become "a family member."
There’s a very good answer in the first reply. And yes, I think we will eventually get closer to the staff. They’re really friendly and cool people.
@@RetiredZGrt Thank you so much for your clear and thoughtful answer!
I’d rather die but good for you! Thankfully we all don’t like the same things!
That’s true,🤣. Thanks for watching!
Great tour, thank you!
Can you please share the spa prices.
Expensive. I saw them posted by another TH-cam tandem couple.
Hi Barbara! Sorry for the late reply. I bought the massage/facial for 8 for $550. So it comes out about $65 per service. I think my manicure was $30 plus $10 for gel. Pedicure was about the same, I believe, don’t quote me. My hair color I think was $45 and style and blow dry was like $40 so about $85. I didn’t get a haircut. It was charged to my room. I thought it was reasonable priced though…
We. Inherited enough money but bought our first home, but id far more like to do this. I was diagnosed w lupus and other things, and dont know how long my life will be, so id rather do this.
I’m sorry to hear that. But then you should definitely consider doing something like this. Thanks for watching!
@@livinglifeonacruise I'm excited to live it through you guys for now. I saw some places were taken off the itinerary, what others were removed and are you still hitting plenty of great spots?
I’m not really sure. We’re going to Bremerhaven and Amsterdam then we will somehow try to slowly catch up with the itinerary and head to Bahamas.
I’ve just found your channel I am enjoying getting to know you guys. Could you explain the coatings do you pay for food as a separate bill or do you something different
All meals are included with 2 alcoholic beverages included with each meal. You can also bring onboard the alcoholic beverages of your choice.
Just curious if the buy-in price was cheaper than it is now? This is the first I have heard of this ship so do not know when cabins first went on sale. Thank you and enjoy yourselves!!
It should be pretty much the same prices now. They will definitely go up when the ship sails!
Why is the ship under maintenance? Are you going to be on shore for a while?
It just came out of dry dock and is waiting for certifications.
Are there things open 24 hrs a day as well in case you can’t sleep and want to move around? I think I’d feel slightly limited by a bedroom only but if you can hang out places even late in the evening or night it could be easier :) this is exciting
I’m honestly not sure how late all bars, restaurants and facilities will be open.
How do you get mail on the ship? How do you get your prescriptions? My husband is diabetic drugs that need to be kept refrigerated.
excellent question!! and how long is the turn-a-round to receive your mail?
See Simon’s response, don’t know about refrigeration.
Bit of a personal question, things like the pampering, I assume cost extra on top of the cruise fairs? But things like your washing twice a week is included? And things like drinks and speciality restaurants are included? Or also an additional fee? Can I also ask what you do for work on board? I can't wait to watch your journey!
Spa services are of course extra. Washing is included. Drinks over the two beer dining occasion are extra but we can bring our own liquor onboard. Specialty restaurants will be at an additional cost. We will work remotely from the business center. Thanks for watching.
Also included are housekeeping, wifi, group classes like Yoga, movies, entertainment, etc, and I believe there is no tipping unless you want to.
My mistake...tipping is seperate...NOT included.
Love your videos. Question: Are they requiring cabin owners to pay the monthly fee while still in dock?
Thank you and no fee right now.
Can you get food delivered to your cabin, or take food to eat there? Great tour
Yes. You can bring food to your room. Delivery, of course.
Yes you can!
Are you staying on the ship now? How exciting! Where will you be heading first?
We have setup our cabin the way we want it. We have been spending the days onboard but are not allowed to sleep onboard yet!
Life goals!!
Indeed!
Hi there, if you don’t mind sharing the details of the price for the cabin and the monthly fees for service and what it includes? Greatly appreciated! 😊
It’s around 100k for the cheapest and like $3500 a month
Look online…Everything is there
@@MOTORVESSELFREEDOM yeah, I took a look and was surprised to see such a huge difference on the monthly fees for the different cabin types. It makes sense that the purchase price goes up based on cabin type, but the monthly costs shouldn't vary that much for an inside vs balcony cabin. But compared to going on typical 7 days cruises, the monthly costs aren't too bad. I don't think I could live full time on a ship for 10-15 years. Definitely not in an inside cabin, but I would love to give it a try in an ocean view or balcony cabin :).
@@GeoffsTH-cam agree…I could do no less than a balcony stateroom
Cabins start at $100K with a $3500 monthly fee for two people. You can also buy select segments ranging from 35-120 days.
I have questions: 1. Where are all the people? 2. Are there many people who bought cabins for a 15 year tour? 3. Do you have to buy a cabin in order to cruise? Does it have to be 15 years? Can you leave the ship for say 6 months without them renting your cabin out? Thanks in advance for any answers, I like you guys.
I filmed it at times when there wasn’t much people around as many don’t want to be on camera. I asked permission of the people you see in the video.
The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments.
You can leave the ship as long as you want but you need to keep paying the monthly fee if you bought a cabin.
Thanks for watching!
It is not permitted to spend the night on the ship until all inspections and tests have been completed and then Ship Trials where they take the ship out to open water. Residents can be on the ship and eat on the ship, but they are bussed to hotels to sleep. Therefore most residents are not in Belfast until they can spend the night on the ship. That is part of the reason you don't see as many people as you normally would.
Is there a medical area? Will there be doctors and nurses?
Yes, they have a medical facility.
When the cruise sets sail, will the ship be at full capacity with temporary passengers, or will there only be full-time residents on board? Would permanent passengers have first access to services, such as laundry facilities, spa, office space etc?
The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments. Everyone would be treated the same.
Are there any shops on board ? Are they adding any other amenities like a small cinema room etc there does seem to be much on board at the moment.
No shops yet but they are showing movies daily in the Neptune lounge.
Let’s say the ship has major problems or lets say they want to due renovations in 6 years…..Are you subject to a special assessment…Would love to hear about what is and what is not covered under Medical……..Please don’t tell me everything…..lol…..Unless you pay a third party policy and evacuation
@StancyInTheCitylook at the website for the ship.
There shouldn’t be a special assessment it’s not an HOA. I would like to refer the medical questions to the company itself. We have a third party travel/ medical insurance.
I am rooting for you, I think the nay sayers are just full of sour grapes. I truly hope the kinks work out and you live your dream.
Thank you and welcome aboard!
Is everyone on board permanently on board . How many passengers
I think at full capacity maybe half would be permanent residents and the rest doing specific segments.
It is giving the ships co-ordinates as in the North East Atlantic ?
Has it sailed
Is it doing trials ?
It’s in Belfast and sea trials should commence in a few days.
What is the cost to buy the cabin?
Cabins start at $100K with a $3500 monthly fee for two people. You can also buy select segments ranging from 35-120 days.

@@livinglifeonacruise thank you and one more question…did you guys set sail yet?

We sure hope that is not the case.

The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments.
