    Hi Joel. I'm a Liberian US citizen. I'm deeply touched by the innocence and affection of the little boy in this documentary. Please let me know how we could help to give him education.

    1. Thank you so much for this instructive video. I am surprised there are so many simularities between Ugandan and Burundian Batwa. I could understand most of what these Ugandan Batwa are saying.
    2. When I was growing up in north-central Burundi in the 1950/1960, there were like 7-10 Batwa families next to my grandparents' land.
    3. Thanks to the Arusha Peace and Reconciliation Agreements for Burundi (August 2000), now we have a Twa lady (Madame Imelde Sabushimike) as Minister for solidarity and gender, and we have also 3 Twa in parliament and other 3 in the senate, Twa may represent 1% of the Burundi population.

    The term 'pygmy' is nowadays considered derogatory or perjorative. It's preferable to refer to these people by their ethnicity, in this case Echuya Batwa. Great post, though.

    • @stansiyomana1239

      1. I think that the use of the word pygmy is the only way you can know that a Bambuti is from the Congolese forest, or that another group is from Cameroonian or Central African Republic forest.
      2. I recently saw a video about one group (in Cameroon?) they were really ``little people'' all of them I was wondering whether they have some unusual genetic issues...

    • @chrisper7527
      @chrisper7527 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@stansiyomana1239 , I am sure that it’s genetics that determines their stature, but there’s nothing congenital about it. If we were to introduce a genetically taller group into the genome, eventually the short stature will be bread out. It’s just mutations that’s needed. Howe I, I am sure these people would choose to remain how the Creator made them from the beginning.

    Africa is the Worlds tourist attraction because of the Twa (Pygmies) people the Watusti, Maasai, ZULU's Dogon and other tribes still living a a primitive life style gathering wood and still cooking with stones living in mud hut' amazes people also see animals that are all most extinct such as lion, monkeys, elephants etc. I wish a grown man would try to circumcise a grown boy something that should have been done at birth ( talking about that make him a man) if he don't cry is also a primitive tradition. I got circumcise at the hospital at birth in 1953.
    cut off the foreskin of (a young boy or man, especially a baby) as a religious rite, especially in Judaism and Islam, or as a medical treatment. Louisville, KY USA

    These beautiful Batwa must be supported to the fullest and their ancestral land returned with full responsibility of conservation in that region to include gorillas and other primates in Western Uganda. I thank God that their numbers are still strong in spite of forced displacement. It's shameful how they have been treated, especially by the so-called global conservation community. Total BS, wouldn't the moss growing on the floors of their huts and weeds in front of their huts be dead from them stepping on them often if they 'really' lived there? No items needed in 'daily' life exist at these huts, no food or water or clothing, these are just huts made in the forest, do not let these people fool you.
