hi guys ive just bought a DX6e as you recommended, when i scroll to sysytem setup it says RF will be disabled, ive pressed yes?. also would the eachine f22 RTF work. im vry cocerned about this rf disabling. plz can you help thank you
@@troy551000 its fine..it's so you cannot do some thing dangerous to hurt yourself if battery is in model and is bound to radio...it disables all outputs ..when done programming and you exit system set-up , everything is enabled to function again ....you can enter system set-up with model on and linked to radio ..or with model not on...probably smart for a newbie.........I don't believe the eachine F22 has a spectrum receiver in plane.....so if not, its a different radio system...{protocol} and won't connect to spektrum transmitter
Hi, Just a suggestion, Use 2 3s batteries for better weight distribution, And lower the prop strut about 3 mm. And go from there, Up/Down/? by 1mm at a time. the boat is chinewalking as soon as it hits a certain speed, Then you lose control, and this boat should not go airborne! And maybe lower the trim tabs about 1mm, that may help also, By all means, Do not do everything I said all at once, Make One small adjustment, Run the boat, See what it does, watch it's quirks, If Ok fine, If not Make another adjustment, And so forth, Till Ya' Get that YEE- HAW Moment! I've had this boat for years and never ran it lol. Took it out last weekend for it's maiden voyage. It rips, but also gets hot quite easily. Going to try and figure out how to get more cooling, but that self righting feature is a lifesaver! Definitely attracted a audience!

Higher "C" rating wi improve power and the battery will not get so hot. Also as I've mentioned before,wipe some Vaseline on the rubber gasket that the top seals to and you'll get way less water inside. Also keep the driveshaft well greased most water comes in from there. Awesome video guys and awesome boat I love all my proboats.
Wanted to give you a little hint. You know how the front of the boat was bouncing up an down. You need to move the battery more to the front of the boat. See how it does. You can move it back if it is pushing the back of the boat down. That is why it was getting air under the front of the boat. Easy way to remember is take tape and put around the battery where the strap goes around the battery to hold it down. I am still waiting for the phone gimbal to get here . We are having trouble with USPS . The protesters holds up the shipping.
Love my Sonicwake. 100% stock with 2 50c 3s smart batteries I ran 49.78mph. I will be trying out 2 100c 3s smart batteries this weekend. And they do recommend 50c Minimum, so your 30c wasn't giving it full potential.
There should be some leveling tabs on the back of the hull you can trim down a bit to help keep the nose down. If it doesn't come with them, you can add them for cheap.
With 2 artery’s it stays down better but make sure the battery’s have Velcro and straps tight we have had to go rescue due to battery’s shifting all the way forward when it flips and won’t self right 🙏

Ya that unit is pretty powerful, I have the Traxxas M41 and it’s a Beast, I do wish it did have the self-righting as it’s a awesome feature ! I do think your main problem with your flipping was the one 6s you were using and the placement of it as it should’ve been as far forward as it could’ve gone and because you only had one battery in , it made it not as level or stable in the water especially after flipping a few times, using two 3s batteries work way better in all areas as you get a little longer playtime out of it also ! You can also mess with your trim tabs at the back if you have to as it does help it stay on plain better when you find the sweet spot and helps stop it from flipping because the front stays more down and not much air can get under it , but I really do like the self-right feature and it looks like a awesome boat overall !! Keep up the Great Work ! Stay and Play Safe !! 👊✌️
I have this boat, great boat, fast, self righting is great! A few tips, trim tabs (aftermarket) help with higher speeds, batteries, despite the esc and motor cooling the battery and wire areas get warm. I have a small rechargeable fan I blow over the esc, wires and battery connectors after a ru., also remove batteries fairly quick to let cool them down.
That is a TANJ impressive boat! About the only downside I see is that you need a large area to run it to its full potential er...enjoyment! Definitely cool stuff!

If you use the velcro that comes with it put a strip on the battery and in the tray. It will keep it from sliding forward and popping out of the straps. Also 30C discharge rate is way to low for that much current draw. I run 100C in mine and battery Temps with the stock prop is around 110F. If you get off the throttle gradually it won't flip as much. Keep up the great videos!
This could really use a smart ESC along with a telemetry capable setup like the Habu STS that let's you know when the battery is starting to get low so you can bring it in before the battery gets low.. That way you don't tear your batteries up so bad by consistently running them to their lower voltage limit.

bought this exact model 3 days ago. within 5 min of running, prop shaft broke stranding it in the middle of the pond. took it back and hobbytown denied any warranty for it. honestly considering leaving the hobby for good. been an avid rcer since im a kid....30 plus years. never seen the dis-regard for the customer like as of lately

U gotta grease the prop shaft with axle grease each time u take it out. Get a new prop shaft at AliExpress. Or better sell it to me, I take it for $50.! U wanna get out of the hobby right?
Did you even grease the shaft prior to taking it out, or check that the play in the shaft was correct? Those are the only two reasons I can why that would happen. Go on OSE and buy an upgraded shaft and remember to grease it every time you've been running the boat.

Just got one of these a month or so ago....just some upgrade hints that will jelp a lot. Duel pick up rudder ( from OSE Offshore Electrics ) adjustable trim tabs. And even a detounged prop will help speed. Also I seen you ran a 30c battery. May want to up that to 75c ish so it wont get hot. Otherwise......these are an absolute blast to run!!!!!!! Have lots of fun guys.....I know I do with mine!!!!

You guys should definitely invest in a GPS speedometer for your RC’s so that you can know how fast you’re really going, although that really does look like 50 miles an hour out there
@@lprcpowersports2721 Heat of the water coming through the hull? If the water is going to do anything, it is going to cool the battery, not heat it up.
If I may suggest something. Get on OSE and buy one of the following. Either a fully balanced prop which they usually have in stock, or buy a CNC prop. Unless you are good at balancing props, do that. I love the Sonicwake and it runs so well out of the box, but in orer for it to really perform, and for the prop strut to survive, the prop needs to be properly balanced.
@@Loulovesspeed You don’t understand what we are talking about. He was implying that the hull bottom was heated up by the water to such an extent that the heat transferred into the batteries. My counter argument was that even if that was true, the batteries would still be hotter than the water and thus the water on the outside will not heat up the batteries. I am well aware that the boat does not have a battery tray with a water cooling plate - albeit that is a good upgrade for this boat. So please read and understand comments properly before telling people off. Thank you

I love this but I don't love the $400 price tag. I guess not being a big boat rc person, I'm drawn more towards the $100 boats that are just as fast and fun. A plane for 400 or rc car for 400 just seem easier to swallow. Not sure this is beginner friendly for people who aren't rc boaters, yet.

Just got a Arrma Granite 4x4 Mega 550.... Charged the battery, Went to plug it in, and the Speed Control went Up In Smoke! Contacted Amazon and they said the Case is Closed. Then I contacted the Seller who sold it to me for 229 when the Price on the box says 219. They told me the price on the box don't matter and that the 229 price is what they wanted... So I am Contacting Horizon and seeing if I can get the Speed Control Replaced Under Warranty Since I didn't even have for 4 hours before it went Poof!.. Yes the Plug for Lipo and Nihm was set to Nihm. Steering Trim is Way Off, I have it set Full Right and it still pulls left even on a road that tilts right. So servo needs adjusting. ... Had to put another speed control in it. The Radio also cut out 2 times even with Brand New batteries in it.
You could run two 6S batteries if wired in parallel, but there’s no real advantage to that versus using one big 6S battery, unless perhaps you are repurposing existing batteries or can save money by buying the smaller packs. Of course, you’ll need to provide your own parallel adapter, connecting the two batteries to just one plug in the boat (with the jumper connected to the other plug). Two 6S in series will severely overvolt the electronics and “let the magic smoke out” (at the very least). 😱😵
Yes. Adjust the trim tabs for bow up or down. Also you have the option of moving the batteries back or forward. I put a dual pick up rudder and larger dia. water lines to cool the motor and ESC separately. Got a Sonic II custom prop from Chris Hoffman (prop specialist) .Getting low 60s on 22.2 volts

I drilled out all the water fittings to combat the heat . That thing shoots twice as much water through the water out let. Runs nice and cool

Try adjusting the angle of the prop, angle it down a bit, it will plant the front end and it shouldnt porpoise like it does.

6:42 "Let me drive" = Most Replayed
This could really use a smart ESC along with a telemetry capable setup like the Habu STS that let's you know when the battery is starting to get low so you can bring it in before the battery gets low.. That way you don't tear your batteries up so bad by consistently running them to their lower voltage limit.
You can set the esc where you want low voltage to kick on. I have mine set at 3.8 volts

I’m surprised there’s no trim adjustment on the bulkhead/rudder. It needs it to keep the bow on plane with 6S power. Looks like a blast though.

bought this exact model 3 days ago. within 5 min of running, prop shaft broke stranding it in the middle of the pond. took it back and hobbytown denied any warranty for it. honestly considering leaving the hobby for good. been an avid rcer since im a kid....30 plus years. never seen the dis-regard for the customer like as of lately

U gotta grease the prop shaft with axle grease each time u take it out. Get a new prop shaft at AliExpress. Or better sell it to me, I take it for $50.! U wanna get out of the hobby right?
Did you even grease the shaft prior to taking it out, or check that the play in the shaft was correct? Those are the only two reasons I can why that would happen. Go on OSE and buy an upgraded shaft and remember to grease it every time you've been running the boat.
Watch the Temps on the electronics and your batteries the motor and esc pulls alot of amps

Just got one of these a month or so ago....just some upgrade hints that will jelp a lot.
Duel pick up rudder ( from OSE Offshore Electrics ) adjustable trim tabs. And even a detounged prop will help speed. Also I seen you ran a 30c battery. May want to up that to 75c ish so it wont get hot.
Otherwise......these are an absolute blast to run!!!!!!! Have lots of fun guys.....I know I do with mine!!!!
Thats one thing I wish I would have realized before our first run, about the discharge rating of the battery. Definitely need at least 50c. Great tips, thank you! 👍😁⚓😎
You guys should definitely invest in a GPS speedometer for your RC’s so that you can know how fast you’re really going, although that really does look like 50 miles an hour out there
And something else I noticed with the battery heating issue especially on boats it could be the heat of the water coming through the haul
@@lprcpowersports2721 Heat of the water coming through the hull? If the water is going to do anything, it is going to cool the battery, not heat it up.
If I may suggest something. Get on OSE and buy one of the following. Either a fully balanced prop which they usually have in stock, or buy a CNC prop. Unless you are good at balancing props, do that. I love the Sonicwake and it runs so well out of the box, but in orer for it to really perform, and for the prop strut to survive, the prop needs to be properly balanced.

You don’t understand what we are talking about. He was implying that the hull bottom was heated up by the water to such an extent that the heat transferred into the batteries. My counter argument was that even if that was true, the batteries would still be hotter than the water and thus the water on the outside will not heat up the batteries. I am well aware that the boat does not have a battery tray with a water cooling plate - albeit that is a good upgrade for this boat. So please read and understand comments properly before telling people off. Thank you

I love this but I don't love the $400 price tag. I guess not being a big boat rc person, I'm drawn more towards the $100 boats that are just as fast and fun. A plane for 400 or rc car for 400 just seem easier to swallow. Not sure this is beginner friendly for people who aren't rc boaters, yet.
Hey we hear you. This is like our 50th boat, maybe we've had even more through the years. And it is by far our most expensive to date! I think a person should have at least five or more boats before pulling the trigger on this one. Still, when you do hit that throttle, it is a pretty amazing feeling! 👍😁⚓😎

Just got a Arrma Granite 4x4 Mega 550.... Charged the battery, Went to plug it in, and the Speed Control went Up In Smoke! Contacted Amazon and they said the Case is Closed. Then I contacted the Seller who sold it to me for 229 when the Price on the box says 219. They told me the price on the box don't matter and that the 229 price is what they wanted... So I am Contacting Horizon and seeing if I can get the Speed Control Replaced Under Warranty Since I didn't even have for 4 hours before it went Poof!.. Yes the Plug for Lipo and Nihm was set to Nihm.
Steering Trim is Way Off, I have it set Full Right and it still pulls left even on a road that tilts right. So servo needs adjusting. ... Had to put another speed control in it. The Radio also cut out 2 times even with Brand New batteries in it.

You could run two 6S batteries if wired in parallel, but there’s no real advantage to that versus using one big 6S battery, unless perhaps you are repurposing existing batteries or can save money by buying the smaller packs. Of course, you’ll need to provide your own parallel adapter, connecting the two batteries to just one plug in the boat (with the jumper connected to the other plug).
Two 6S in series will severely overvolt the electronics and “let the magic smoke out” (at the very least). 😱😵

Yes. Adjust the trim tabs for bow up or down. Also you have the option of moving the batteries back or forward. I put a dual pick up rudder and larger dia. water lines to cool the motor and ESC separately. Got a Sonic II custom prop from Chris Hoffman (prop specialist) .Getting low 60s on 22.2 volts
I found this used for $225 w/ 2 three cell batteries and 2 two cells w/ charger. Should I grab it? Also I'd have to drive 3 hours to pick it up...
