You are so much more interesting to watch and listen to, than the bushbashing blokes on 4WD Action... that l “used to watch.” You are a refreshing change!
You've made me realize we've been seriously missing an adventure outbacker to carry on the tradition of Alby Mangles, Malcolm Douglas and The Leyland Brothers. You are nailing it mate - and I'm still on your pre-trip videos. Can't wait to check out the rest.
Visited Sundown Last weekend because of your vid.. Had a great time on a solo trip in my little Jimny. Thank you for uploading this vid. Took a wrong turn and ended up on a pretty crazy track.. Well worth the 1030klm round trip..👌
Sage words about it being easy going down, hard coming back up - we were there with the Brisbane LROC in November, while doing the Rat's Castle circuit it started raining. Made going back up that ascent entertaining! Cheers, great video.
Great weekend trip by the looks of things! Wonderful terrain and a steady, no over revving drive. Good idea with the dislocation cones - I fitted a pair on my 90 when a similar thing happened to me, except the spring came right out and ended up in a bog!
Very cool video! That's a great save you did there with your spring and tire! Plus its great to have the right equipment to work with, loved the video.✌😎👍
Just found this video, ( 2019) I have really enjoyed your narrative, well done, looking forward to viewing your other vids, I hope by now you have spring relocate hooks ( or cones) fitted, simple but effective. Thank you,
Another good one. American adventures going well, Wilms and myself have a disco 2 as defenders are rare and expensive. The disco’s don’t have the defenders character but are very impressive. I am concerned it’ll make me soft.
G’day, great video mate. Stayed at Reedy waterhole camp early July 19, it’s really dry, not a blade of green grass anywhere and about a foot and a half deep of water in scattered pools along the Severn River.
Just come back from another trip to Girraween however a lot of the place was restricted due to the recent bush fires so we headed to Sundown and checked out Red Rock Gorge. Boy that road is rocky haha. ATB Jason.
thanks for taking the time to make these Bret, saw you walking up the slope to get the camera, i know it's hard work doing these videos! I live on the other side of the world, so these are really informative to learn a bit about australia :)
Great shakedown Brett , looking forwards to the future vids, I appreciate your clear diction , a welcome relief as everybody seems to rattle out their words today !! Btw , how tall are you ? I'm 6'3" , and wonder if I can sleep in the rear of a Defender ...
John Wriedt Thanks mate. I speak like this in the films because I know noone would probably understand me otherwise.. haha. Can be a pain doing multiple takes of voiceover till I get the speed right. I'm 180cm. You should fit, just need to fold down the front seats more and extend the platform towards the dash.
I love your information, you modest nature etc. But can't understand why you keep driving that heap of junk. You have constant trouble. Any Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Mazda etc would be so much more reliable than your truck,I'm sorry for my harshness. Grant
Thanks Grant. As long as there's an English union jack on my flag, I choose to use my freedom to drive the car I want. An old Defender is that car, so I live with the ups and downs.
That piece of junk just keeps on breaking down. Why dont you trade in for a range rover? Yeh yeh i know, range rovers are just as bad and break down just as much, but at least you will break down in luxury hahahahahehe

Brian Walker used to watch is dead right !
Hi Bret, I enjoyed the vid. Like others have commented - good to hear clear precise pronounciation, and I'm a native English speaker. :)

El Rey Thanks mate. I do miss having Malcolm Douglas on tv. He told it how it was without all the americanised action.
RIP MD.
Sundown is my back yard. Thanks.
Great video. As a non native English speaker ( from Germany ) i really like your clear pronunciation.
SmileyEp1 Thanks mate.
What a gorgeous bit of country. Excellent video Brett!!
Loved this place, Didnt do the rats tail loop as the big signs scared me off. Will definitely do it next time.

Great to hear Ben. Yes wrong turns can end up crazy out there, but you survived and had an adventure to talk about! cheers.
Thanks for sharing, looking at a trip next winter.
Another great video, thanks mate!!

Aaron Porebski Would have been good to go on that trip but my car was broken. Thanks.

John Smith Yes it was a really enjoyable weekend. A beautiful place to drive.
God I love Sundown. Going for the 3rd time in 3 months at the end of this month - can’t wait!

Thanks Billy. Yes, installed dislocation cones after this trip. No problems since. Enjoy the videos!

Yes, a tough drought out there atm.

Indeed Jason, a rough track out there.

warci Thanks mate. Yes it can be a struggle sometimes setting up the camera as a one man show. I get a good work out.
Great video, mate. It looks like you had lots of fun. Those kangaroos look so cute when they stare at you.
Thanks mate!
2018 - currently need 4wd high clearance for Falls Section.
Don't recommend 2wd for Broadwater due to sharp rocks and puncture.
Great video :-)
Thanks for the update Ade
Hi Brent, good to see you getting out and about.
when are you hoping to put some new uploads on?
Final video from 2018 should be released next saturday. Will be a while after that before the next film.
WoW awesome looking place Brett looks like you had a good trip.
Atb Hunter.
Hunter McM Yes it was a great weekend. Am looking forward to doing some more.
No spring dislocation issues on a Series 3 ;-)
Another fab video.
andy withers Thanks mate
Looks good Brett. Might check out Nundubbermere camp site on my KLR650 for a spot of motocamping 👍
Don't think I've made it up to that section yet. Might be worth another visit! Thanks
Great video mate, really enjoyed it. Wanted to ask... could I get to Burrows Waterhole on a stock suspension (Prado)? Thanks
I haven't been there for several years, but back then any 4x4 should get to the campgrounds without much issue.
Awesome video! Keep up the great work. What tyre pressures were you running?
+Ian Parsons Thanks. Was running around 18psi on that trip. No issues at all.
Brett , I love watching your videos , may I suggest maybe no music ? I find that the loud music takes away from the quality of the video.
Thanks Kevin. That's a pretty old video now. Dont use as much music these days except for travelling sequences.
Another great and informative video, thanks Brett. Do you have an air compressor to re-inflate your tyres as needed?
yes a Dr air pro flow compressor. A good piece of kit.
Great shakedown Brett , looking forwards to the future vids, I appreciate your clear diction , a welcome relief as everybody seems to rattle out their words today !! Btw , how tall are you ? I'm 6'3" , and wonder if I can sleep in the rear of a Defender ...

Simple, buy a Landcruiser, spring problem or anything else will never be experienced.;)) great car, great video, keep it coming
Which state is this national park in?
+Steve Klimentos It's in Queensland. A short drive away from Stanthorpe.
you need a fire and anti freeze (alcohol) lol
Most landrover owners know exactly how their vehicles sound.... most defender owners are probably deaf and can't hear anything anyway
Still got my hearing... give it another 20 years.
is it just me or is that rig your driving always having mechanical problems
Haha. I've owned the same car for 14 years. It may appear that way as all my trips are recorded. Generally though it's been fairly reliable.
I love your information, you modest nature etc. But can't understand why you keep driving that heap of junk. You have constant trouble. Any Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Mazda etc would be so much more reliable than your truck,I'm sorry for my harshness. Grant

@@RoamingTheOutback I love that Landy. Nothing it can't get out of. I hope you still have it.
@@no2thenwo737 still going. Planning my next little trip now.
