  • Hell Hole Gorge National Park is a newly opened park 1100km's drive west of Brisbane, in outback Queensland's arid Mulga lands. The town of Adavale is the gateway to visit Hell Hole Gorge which is 70km away from the parks entrance.
    The threatened Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby among many other animals live in the gorge surrounds. A great place for bush walking and exploring. I visit Spencers waterhole, Hell Hole waterhole and Hell Hole gorge, as well as a short look at the township of Adavale.

Your narration and story telling is amazing and you give us a true sense of soul of what the outback is like when we are watching from our screens. I look forward to watching the remaining videos on your channel and get up to date as to where you're at in your Defender. Well done mate. Kev!

    Great find ! Gotta love little gems like this , if you get up north further give me a yell will put you onto a few spots . Am just back from a trip to the gulf country the bulldust is crazy at present think i dis about 200 plus k of it up to the sills in places on a D1 . Handy hint a Donaldson style precleaner is worth its weight in gold saves the airfilter from clogging up , have gone from changing air filter every 2000k to 8000k in dusty conditions

    • @RoamingTheOutback
      @RoamingTheOutback  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Pete, some good advice there. I've been thinking of getting at least a foam precleaner, just need to find one in a store. Dust sounds pretty deep. Will see how my trip progresses. Still no idea as such where I'll end up at what time. Just seeing where the road takes me.

    • @randomoldbloke
      @randomoldbloke 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those foam things are more of a gimmick than anything, reduces air flow , messy , and costly from memory the Donaldson one i have cost $40 2 years ago and can be picked up at most ag gear , truck spares places takes all of a minute to clean them out they are rated at removing 80% of heavy particles, you just have to remember to clean them out after coming off the dirt . You can also get a spinner style that does the same thing it is fit and forget . I prefer the bowl as no moving parts . Cheers

    Brett after you get home your next job is to write a Roaming the Outback Recipe Book. Seriously though it would be great if you give us a run down on the oven and your thoughts on it. As I'm from from Vic I had no idea that there were such great places to go in QLD so its off to the shop to purchase some decent Hema maps and i'll head up that way as soon as I get the chance. Your editing and continuity seem to be getting better and better. it must add a fair bit to your trip lengths to find and set up the camera locations to maintain that sense of following along with you on the journey. • @RoamingTheOutback
      @RoamingTheOutback  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No doesn't worry me.. I've had it 12 years. Almost everything has been rebuilt, replaced or upgraded. Generally speaking, it's reliable. I've only been trayed out of places like 4 times, only one of which was in the bush on Cape York. It has lots of little things that need attention on the side of the track. ie. this morning my driver side mirror glass fell out when I closed the door. First time that's happened, so will get my Araldite out and fix it.. Due to its simplicity I can generally diagnose any issues myself and fix it on site.

    Hi there, great video, am a big fan , keep up the good work.
    Just a quick question please, in this video u made a dumper in an oven .
    I’m also chasing an oven that I can use inside the car (using a 12 volts power output, I’m sure ur one is also a 12V one too), can u please tell us what oven u r using, what brand? And is that made in Australia? And lastly, have u bolted it on the floor of ur vehicle? Or how u’ve kept it secured?
    Once again thank u so much for ur efforts and making awesome videos.

      Lapstone Limousine most of them are too small for me. had a 2.7td D21 years ago that was a cool rig but good luck finding one these days that isnt a thrashed out over priced neglected pos.
      pajero or triton might be ok but i find because 4x4's are so popular that most second hand 4bs are just way over priced for what they are. not the kind of vehicles i want to take into the middle of nowhere and trust my life with.
      i just bought a 2003 landrover discovery few days ago because i got impatient and sick of looking at over priced lemons. its a V8 so its not a vehicle ill be doing remote solo travels in but it will do for now.

      @@CursedByEvilSickness I've been using a td5 disco 2a for the past year. Got it decked out now with all the good stuff. Brilliant 4x4 . 👍

      nice. only just got mine. mines got the 4.6 V8. they are a nice car but a tad on the squishy side imo. mines got the ARB front bar, ill be replacing the rear plastic bumper with a metal one and thats probably about it. wont go overboard as im over the mud and rough stuff, more into touring these days.

      @@CursedByEvilSickness yeah. I'm with you on that... I'm over risking breaking my car all the time.
      There's something very cool about the V8s I gotta say? What sort of fuel economy are you getting out of it? That's why I decided on the td5 in the end

    Instead of rock sliders you have a fuel tank! why???!

      This is Australia. I need fuel more than rock sliders... not many rocks around the places I travel.
