If Skinner flops, we have Evander Kane, Dylan Holloway, Adam Henrique and even Matt Savoie potentially jumping in. Maybe try another team or sport?
If the contract wasn't so short, I'd be worried. Also what lack of depth? Other than injury replacements (and maybe defensive depth, I could see that argument), Edmonton has perhaps the best forward depth in the league (granted I'm an Oilers fan, so I may be bias).
He costs 3 million dollars and scored 82 points 2 years ago. Similar to Blake Wheeler? Roster depth issues? Yea right.
Skinner stood out on a Canes team with lackluster coaching ..and agreed to a trade to a Buffalo team that wasn’t getting good results. He played very well and likely the outsize contract and more uneven coaching..a tough recipe for any quality player. He has never had chance for playoffs. The opportunity in Edmonton..he has certainly earned it.

I remember many journalist at the start of the playoffs picking Dallas to win the cup because they had more depth than any team in the league. Six weeks later those same journalists were saying the Oilers beat them because they had more depth.
@@shawnwharry952 I think the Stars did have greater depth than the Oilers, but guys like Brown and Janmark stepped up their game.
Oilers added Arvidsson and Skinner and subtracted Foegele. Henrique is technically their 4th line centre. Incredible depth now

@@shawnwharry952 I think they keep Brown Janmark and Henrique together. They were dynamite last year. Holloway plays centre with Kane and Perry. I guess those two lines are interchangeable

D is concern on the right but they will add a right shot d as the year goes on. Emberson Skechers brown or pto will have a shot for 25-45 games.
More mobile to start this season compared to Desharnais and Ceci that mainly played the right side last regular season .
