One thing I've noticed over the years is that they LOVE grouping player positions together. You'll extremely often see 3 pitchers or 3 catchers or 3 3rd basemen in a row.
Well that makes perfect sense to do that. If 3 catchers have similar stats they will be closer in ranking than a pitcher and outfield. It's not that crazy of a concept lol. I think many of these lists focus too much on plate production. I know Billy Beane taught us that the only thing the matters is getting on base, but I'm old school, and like to see rounded, complete players, who can play defence. Too many Outfielders are given extra credit for hitting bombs, but their throwing errors, lack of range, or just plain mediocrity in the field are overlooked. Similarly, Infielders and their run saving ability is ignored, when assessing their play. For example, although both were excellent, so I'm not criticising either, I thought Henderson had a better rookie year than Carroll, and is more valuable to his team, yet both yourself and MLB rate Carroll about 10 places higher. Just to stress, I'm not saying Carroll can't field, just that a good SS saves many more runs than a RF, and this is never factored into their contribution or ability.
Adolis just one spot over Arozarena is the most agregious to me. Sleeping on the two aces of the championship Texas Rangers (Montgomery and Eovaldi) in like the 80s... George Kirby in the 80s too, (as always) MLB be trippin'. But I'm ok with underrating pitchers, the two hitters... Arozarena doesn't belong anywhere NEAR the top 50 imo... and to rate him right next to El Bombe is an insult. But hey, you can guess what team I root for.
You underestimate Max Fried. Dude has a career 3.03 ERA in over 120 starts (for comparison Garrit Cole's is 3.17). Fried has been one of the best pitches in the league since 2019 and still gets little respect.
Justin Verlander had a great year last year... better numbers than Glasnow and Kirby while returning from TJ. Why do so many people think low 3 ERA's arent great anymore
Wdym verlander was okay and didn’t look good, he had a 3.15 ERA with the Mets and a 3.31 ERA with the Astros that’s a 131 ERA+ and he had a 3.5 WAR he deserves to be in the top 70 also 3.85 FIP
You are OK ranking Edwin Diaz over Royce Lewis when you don't like ranking relivers this high but it's a problem putting Max Muncy in front of Royce Lewis??? Biased much??? Yet you are ok with Yelich @ #72 even though he has not been even close to good since 2019 and just had 1 good, not great year last year??? Also, look back through 2018, the only player ranked in the top 3-5 has always been Mookie Betts with most of those rankings being top 2. I want to see where people rank him compared to others since 2018. He is clearly the best player CONSISTENTLY over that time span.
Dude Max Fried since 2020 has made 83 starts and is 43-15 with an ERA of 2.66 and a FIP of 3.02. He’s averaged about 4 WAR in that time span despite missing significant time and 2020 being a shortened season. I don’t understand your reaction to his top 50 status at all.

hi Marc, another amazing vid!
Ozzie Albies is one of the top 30 players in the game. That is their biggest snub by far.
There is a zero percent chance Trout is still a top 10 player. I would rank him in the 30s right now.
Everyone knows Ohtani's the best player of all time.👍
You underestimate Max Fried. Dude has a career 3.03 ERA in over 120 starts (for comparison Garrit Cole's is 3.17). Fried has been one of the best pitches in the league since 2019 and still gets little respect.
Agree 100%. One of the best lefties in baseball. He's about to get paid after this season and I'm afraid it's not gonna be Atlanta that pays him
I agree with you in this vid more than I usually do. Really enjoy your content though, even if you are a Mets fan.
Another year...another list with just one SF Giant on it...being an SF fan is tough sometimes
Justin Verlander had a great year last year... better numbers than Glasnow and Kirby while returning from TJ. Why do so many people think low 3 ERA's arent great anymore
72 for yelich u agree but say Springer isn’t 76😂 cmon mark
Bogaerts, Ramirez, Altuve and Tucker will never be appreciated enough. Somehow Harper has gone from overrated to underrated to overrated.
Max fried is a cy young level pitcher
Luis Robert stealing 35-40 bases? He had 20 last year in 145 games. It would be beyond shocking if he even cracked 25
BRENT ROOKER absolutely snubbed what disrespect easily Top 100
No Heim or Jung on this list is absolutely criminal
Arraez is a top 20 player. I’d rather have a lineup full of him than anyone
Wdym verlander was okay and didn’t look good, he had a 3.15 ERA with the Mets and a 3.31 ERA with the Astros that’s a 131 ERA+ and he had a 3.5 WAR he deserves to be in the top 70 also 3.85 FIP
Disagree that’s basically how good bassit was
The Marlins disrespect is insane
Having kirby and not Gilbert on this list is crazy, within the mariner organization Gilbert is considered better than kirby by a very slim margin.
Saying Bo is a bad fielder after he had 5 DRS is definitely a choice
As a Braves fan it hurts agreeing with you. But your right, Arraez is way too high.
There is no excuse not to have Bryce top 10 that’s insane
Dude Max Fried since 2020 has made 83 starts and is 43-15 with an ERA of 2.66 and a FIP of 3.02. He’s averaged about 4 WAR in that time span despite missing significant time and 2020 being a shortened season. I don’t understand your reaction to his top 50 status at all.
Because he is a Mets fan and he hates the braves. Max is one of the best lefties in baseball
