This is fantastic, hearing a big player talking about his life is just amazing to listen to. Kudos Simon for for showing your interview class & letting the man speak. Only one thing........ This better be part 1 of 100
This man has had some life, to do the things he done in the 80s is outrageous, nobody had a Schilling, and Terry is putting hundreds of grand on horses! Some man, hope you are keeping well Terry. Best interview on this channel. Just noticed when he pulled his wallet out he had a load of betting slips in it 😂😂👏
Had great night with Terry playing spoof won £8k off him in 1 bet he was pissed as a fart and he didn’t even notice I was cheating !! Top top pan who invested 100k into my company and turned it into £5 million profit in 10 months
Terry.....delighted you got back for these races, either on private jet or whatever.....best though next time you land an interview be sober 🙏. Racing deserves this.
Hopefully the other parts cover everything . Somebody who doesn't know the full story from watching this part would think Terry never backed a loser ...... A complex man but can tell a good story
I remember Terry Ramsden well . He was the Harry Findlay of his day ; and like Findlay , greed allied to his massive ego was his downfall. He loved to the attention . Like Findlay , he loved to boast about his bets , and CH4 racing gave him just the platform in which to do so .
Always remember Katies winning those races . My old man worked with a bloke who knew a stable lad with Ryan at the time. I was still at school but remember having £1 ew when it won the Irish Guineas . It was 20-1 and I was in dreamland . The info ( from what u remember)WAS exactly what he said … Still keep an eye on his sons horses now … but v quiet this year so far .
I’m a com0lete racing enthusiast and still can’t appreciate racing, when there are so many horses pulled, by jockies and trainers, what chance has a regular punter got then, literally no chance.
I was there grand national 1986 when terry had 50 rand ew on mr snug fit he was last on the first circuit then came from nowhere to finish 4 th great days
So many good Ramsden horses were stopped by jockeys taking a bung . If he had big money on a sure thing , the bookies would make sure through the channels they had , that the jockey would understand that the horse was not a good thing .
@@johnh1252 That's why Barney Curley had some degree of success , although he even says in his Autobiography that Graham Bradley stopped a good few horses he had an " interest " in .

Big player / big loser. Good story nonetheless.
Brilliant story , Terry was a throwback to the great owner/gamblers of the Edwardian era , marvellous

Fantastic - could listen to this gentleman forever. Simon does exceptionally well to keep quiet and let him tell the stories.
Thanks for sharing.

Terry Ramsden a very clever person who truly understands business and money, a shrewd punter, life’s flamboyant character 👏👏👏👍😀🐎

Really enjoyed hearing about his bets what a legend of the betting ring thanks for posting
I saw him many times in the bookies in Blackpool, i did not know he was Terry Ramsden.
Very Clever Man . We need more like him in the game .
very modest bloke
It's funny though, normally a VERY clever man won't try and tell the world what his IQ is, he'll have nothing to prove to anyone.
Excellent piece.

really good...enjoyed it very much
You know what they say about people that talk about themselves in the 3rd person
I think that’s the least cuntish thing about him.

Didn't the Ramsdens even get banned from racing in South Africa?
Wow, what a great story, best yet Simon.
There is a glorious expression in beautiful Tullamore ( Ireland). This guy has ‘The Smell of his own piss’......sad also
Whats beautiful about Tullamore?
I recall him living across the road to me in Blackheath.

Don't think I've ever seen a bigger ego.
