    Dude I just want to take a moment to take my hat off to you. I've watched 100 of hours of power automate and some how your videos turned out to be the most crucial to my beginner journey. You really have a way of simplying it to a point that even the least tech savvy are able to implement the above

    Hi, great video straight to the point but I do have questions, 1- does this work when a new entry is created? 2 - will this work if I use a form in excel to create my data sheet in excel? Thank you, Paul

      Unfortunately no. There is no trigger for when a row added.
      But if you're using a form, there is a trigger for that.

Is there any way that an email will be sent automatically if the excel was updated? It is like this. I have forms, in that forms, i want the score to be sent to my email. Can this be done?

    Hey mate, this is awesome and will be super helpful for us chasing payments. I did want to ask one thing. Is there a way to make the emails NOT automatically send, but to have excel speak with Outlook and basically generate the emails that then will pop up on our screen so we can make some edits. I ask because some of our chasing is for multiple invoices, or we will need to attach documents that might not always have consistent naming. Hope you can help! Your video was amazing and so so clear!

    Thanks for sharing valuable videos........... I am trying to learn how to set up excel sheet to send email without opening it. The case is, I have several systems to be verified after a regular interval for their integrity. All systems are listed in an excel sheet and a condition formatting is applied to determine the due date for system integrity verification. Can we do it (I mean the email should be sent as a reminder to the concerned person on a due date without opening the excel sheet)? Thanks

    What if the email in your excel file is created using vlookup for example. The flow pulls in the function and not the value and therefore it doesn't work. is there a way of getting flow to pull in the string and not the function? WITHOUT converting the formulas manually in the excel file by copying and pasting as values. The list continuously increases due to forms data imputing into the excel file. Thanks.

    Great Video!
    Instead of running the flow for selected cells, is it possible to run when a condition is met? (For example before somebody is running out of stock). Stock is updated once a week, a nice form for ordering is linked to the online excel if somebody already run out but a warning message for ordering before stock ends would be greater! At the moment we handle this step manually.
    Regards! Carmela

      @@HowToExcelBlog @AT how are you setting up your spreadsheet for a cadence delivery? How did you set up your list and PA to do a cadence? I am looking into using this as a temporary method for sales prospecting until we get SalesLoft live.

    How can i get information to other excel (im not the propietary) but i want to join this information and search automatically information on that :(.
    In drive, it has "importrange" to get information to another excel but in microsoft 365 (onedrive) i dont know how to connect this when other person have the excel in onedrive. How i can do that with power automate?

    • @HowToExcelBlog

      You can't search for an Excel file and connect to it from power automate. You have to pick the Excel file before the flow runs.

    Is there a way to set the flow to automatically run when manually entered data in the table is changed?

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no on change trigger, but you might be able to hack one together. I'll have to think about it.

      How To Excel Awesome! Thank you. Is there a way to schedule tasks to run such as opening an Excel workbook once a day or once a week?

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can definitely schedule a flow. Why do you need to open the file? Since it's in the cloud, you can run tasks without opening a file.

    • @big1975E
      @big1975E 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a workbook with macros that perform specific tasks and interact with other workbooks on a shared network drive. I want to perform those tasks once per week. I can trigger the macros to run when the workbook opens and then close the workbook when they are finished. If a flow can be created to just open the workbook once per week then the entire process becomes automated.

      You can use a RPA flow to open a workbook, but this is a premium feature in Flow and its still in preview.

For some reason i can't run the flow. 1st attempt, the Run option is disabled. 2nd attempt, the flow i created is after i saved it, the flow is gone in excel. when i logged into my power automate, the flow that i created is there. but since it's not showing in excel, i can't run it either. hope you can help..thanks in advance!

      i am having the same issue.. the Run option is disabled. Any idea if this has to be purchased as outside Office 365?

    • @KiranVoletiOmGuru
      @KiranVoletiOmGuru 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey, i found out why.. it all should be in text format to run the flow.. so incase you have any column/field in number format, it wont enable.. try converting it text and see.. hope this helps!

    somewhat irrelevant..i want to make a button flow where in outlook i want to reply to client with a auto email “your request is done” either by pressing a button or by dragging the email to a specific folder

    • @HowToExcelBlog

      You might be able to do that without a flow.

    My flow refuses to send the email. The error message I get is "Bad Request". It only happens when I try to pass the email address dynamically.

    • @HowToExcelBlog
      @HowToExcelBlog  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a new-ish button on the top right of the email field that you need to click on to input dynamic content.

    Hello, in my table I have a date column, when I include it in the body of the email, it is shown as a number and not as a date. How can I make it show as date? So 08/18/2020, not "43869". Thank you
