Have a blessed day . We all need a wood chipper like that you come across another one this girl needs one . Thanks for you humor and hard work. I'll try not to choke on my good food.
Your little guy (sorry I don't know his name) is working so hard to chop those stalks! He does not give up either! Also, my Pawpaw did silage some with Milo, and he placed old asphalt shingles on the ground in the Texas summer, and got them to stick, with a rubber bit, this kept the ground contamination down, and helped with the seal to get good cook on his silage.
I've got a '70s Asplundh Whisper chipper I just got operational again for chipping saplings on our acreage in Maine. This thought crossed my mind the other day. Although we don't have animals yet, it's nice to know that the chipper won't have a problem putting up silage when we do!
I really enjoyed watching you guys make silage ! Hopefully one day you can find a good deal on a pull type chopper were you can make grass silage as well . It's weird how that Guatemalan corn grows its ears in clusters I hope you guys have a great evening !
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I couldn't think of the real name at the time but they called forage harvesters . I think you can pick up up a older one at decent price .
What A Great Idea and cuts the feed budget down too and better for them, I was worried about you on that tractor and then you said be careful packing this and that's what I was thinking, Yes, your boys do work hard and it will pay off when they get older, God Bless All Of You, Wendy
I was wondering if y'all where gonna eat any of them ears. I was saying to myself well maybe they planted that corn just for the animals. Lol glad u cleared that up. Nice score with the chipper. I haven't seen it in any vids but I also haven't been watching every upload not cus I choose to but cus of time an life lol. You know what I'm saying tho. I love the homestead life. We use to have a homestead but stuff happened an we lost it an at that time in my life I was only worried about drugs a women so I didn't save the house, I had the chance but blew it. Wish I knew what I know now about life lol. Killer vid guys y'all rock.
Thanks brother! Yes I guess we all have to learn through the school of life! I really appreciate the comment! There’s not many people that can watch every upload…… I understand that completely!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I wouldn’t turn it down, but neither am I rooting for it 😂😂 there’s some kids I know that sure would think it’s a good thing 😂😂😂
I was trying to tell you to start packing that pile but you couldn’t hear me over the chipper noise so I sent the guineas to tell you😂. Way back when I was a young lad working at a local dairy, we would mix low production corn with high production corn because the low production is till a filler, you just may have to use additional supplements along and along. Take care Micah and have a blessed rest of the week my friend.
Hey man I love this corn! I love how it’s super tall and has nice big yellow ears! Is there any chance you could possibly send me some seeds from it I only need about a ears worth of seed! Thanks!
Pretty cool system. I've also seen ranchers plant a field and turn the cattle on it right before market. Especially with sorghum. BTW, where did you get that Guatemalan corn seed?
I think your boys work ethic is a testament to you as a father. Good job!
Thanks….. it’s getting to the point that I just have to get out of the way and let them get-er-done!😂
Reap what you Seaux mentioned you and my family and I decided to start watching. We are hooked.
That’s awesome! Todd and Jerriath are great people!

His name is Caleb…… that is some great memories you have my friend!
Matt sure is an Ace on that 4-wheeler!
Yes indeed! Boys should be taught to back a trailer in grade school! All my boys can do it!
Monster corn. Great job fellas. I enjoyed this video. God Bless y’all.
Thanks so much! We had a great corn year!

It really is a wonderful tool! Wood or corn it don’t care!

Great woodchipper….salad for animals….awesome way to use the entire plant! Watching you from Gander Newfoundland and Labrador Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦‼️
Thanks my friend! I hope you are having a great morning!

Thanks Aaric! It definitely is a different kind of corn! A real silage chopper would be awesome!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I would look at a chopper as investment because you could always cut other peoples fields as well to pay for it .
Very true!

Those guineas 😂😂 Silage is an amazing and highly underutilized winter feed source, in my opinion….really glad it’s working out well for y’all!

Yes I waited a bit before I started packing…… I figured the bottom would get plenty packed with all the weight.
That's some good looking feed! You're getting it packed quite nicely too. God bless
Thanks cowboy! I am getting ready for winter now!!!😂
Great video and yes having boys that work around the farm is awsome great for you and them 🙂
Thanks so much! I am blessed!
Did you plant any corn for your family food storage that you and your boys built a couple of years ago. Blessings.☺️
Yes indeed! We will pick it when it’s ready!😀😅

You’re absolutely welcome!
Does crimson clover work good in regular vegetable gardens
Yes, it works great!
Can we get updates on farm animals once in a few weeks?
Absolutely!
Tremendous video,
nothing gone to waste,
unlike much of today’s society.
Thanks my friend it’s gonna be good feed!

My friend gave me a little he grew. I’m gonna try to get it going.
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures stuff grows like a weed
Yes I’m very happy with it!
put cart under chipper shute to collect silage, on wheels??
I would if I was chopping it in the field. We prefer to haul the entire stalk. As far as the fermentation process…… it wouldn’t work on a cart.
Were all your boys such close sidekicks to you..when they were young..as your youngest is today ??
Yes they sure were! They make me a very happy dad!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures and all of us...happy viewers...
I think I used to work with your little brother Seth roofing.
That would be correct!
I have an old one row silage chopper that we could do some trading on if you're interested. It's old but it's cheap.
I might be interested. How far are you from Cookeville TN?
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I live 3 miles north of Jamestown. Probably one hour from Cookeville
That’s awesome! Is it in the dry?
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures no it's not in the dry. It's been sitting out for a few years. If it isn't usable it will be free.
If you send me an email address I'll email you my phone number. I don't want to put it on TH-cam.

Gumbo. 👍
With okra?😂
We are sad that we are not getting to come. Just too much going on.
I totally understand. It’s not working out very well for y’all. Hopefully someday though!
Might be time to make a Guinea Fricassee''
We definitely need to!😂
*Sauerkraut and Silage Both Need Salt and Compaction..* 🤔 ..gw
