  • Tony is fishing out of Grand Isle, Louisiana for Tarpon on this week’s episode of Castin’ Cajun. His guests are Caption Lance “Coon Pop” Schouest and Captain Joe Schouest, two of the best Tarpon fisherman in Louisiana.
When it comes to famous tarpon fishing lures, Schouest can thank his son, Lance “Little Coon” Schouest Jr.
Schouest had been making different fishing lures, when his son asked if he could make one for tarpon fishing. This is when he made his famous Coon Pop Lure. On his son’s first cast, he caught a 149-pound tarpon.
After this Schouest’s tarpon lure became famous, and he started selling it and shipping it throughout the Gulf Coast.
If you want to book a trip with Capt. Joe, go to our website www.castincajun.com and you will find him in our Wounded War Heroes charter captains.
In the cooking segment, brought to you by Tony Chachere’s famous Creole Seasoning, is Chef Lindsay Morgan of Cristiano’s Ristorante in Houma, Louisiana, preparing deer sausage.

It looks like you killed that first Tarpon, did you eat it? How come you don't film the release?
