I am glad to see the competition to DJI. This looks like a completely capable unit. I’m impressed with the camera. The price is also very good and acceptable. I don’t use all the fancy quick shots and stuff so I would find this to be more than worth my consideration. I just wish that there were more domestic companies that could compete with this capability, price point and size! Even if it was $200 more, I would consider it acceptable for a domestically produced unit. The one thing it does not have is the DJI controller with the screen. I dislike connecting to a cell phone. I am very happy user of the first Fimi Mini, but - are the batteries really compatible? Because on the Mini "facelift" V2 there were some new "intelligent" batteries, I wonder if I could use my old ones here... Anyway, that night mode was pretty impressive.

@TheFreakShow-lw3yk. You must be either new to drones or a BIG fan of DJI. The DJI drones you mention have lesser features than the FIMI 3. Today, people want 4K 60 FPS, Tracking and Waypoints. Those DJI drones have non of such features.
@TheFreakShow-lw3yk Also, at least here in the US, they're talking about a DJI drone ban, so it's good to have alternatives. DJI does have geo-fencing restrictions whereas I don't think FIMI enforces that either.
All Fimi quadcopters sofar have had problems with shifting horizons during flight; will be interesting to see whether or not Fimi was able to address that problem on this one.

Waiting for the outdoor night footage. I flew my Mini 4 Pro the other day in pitch black to record some fireworks and the image was kinda alright, but heavy image drifting.
@@HD-vh2dwif you are filming for yourself and nothing professional that any human would pay for, then all the DJI consumer drones are fine & give acceptable results. If someone is paying you for your filming, then you’ll need a real camera with removable lenses.
Ha ha… I do review one drone per week, as well as one plane per week, and when possible one helicopter per week. So in a week I have three vids, and one is usually always a drone. Unless of course you were thinking of beginner level camera drones vice FPV Drones?

@@mark120964Not much in the way of beginner GPS camera drones to review. I pick all the products I review so I tend to avoid the not so good ones. Also for DJI drones I have to buy them, so since they are expensive I need a use for them, therefore I only buy the top models that will have a purpose in my drone inventory for drone work.

Is it good enough for indoor realty? I really haven't had a call for it so I'd hate to buy one of the newer DJI minis 3 or 4 unless they perform a whole lot better. Hello Steve The last time we talked you had advised me to get the DJI mini 4K over the potensic Adam. However that was days before the announcement of the fimi mini 3 and all of its specifications. After seeing the mini 3 spec. I decided on the Fimi mini 3. that was a month ago and I am still waiting for my drone. Great video! Can someone tell me when in way point mode and picking points, how to pick a POI ? I guess I’m old and slow but I couldn’t find how to do it! If it is there can more than one be added for different waypoints and what to do there? Also mine is coming up short / loosing connection right before the beach / less than a mile…. There is no POI that I saw. If you can’t get range then it means you are lacking firmware updates and/or you are flying in a city. All drones have no range in cities due to interference.

Wonder if the batteries from the Atom and Atom Se are the same as Fimi and cross compatible. Their battery options do the same if you put the SE battery in the Atom. I'd buy a Fimi right now if I knew my Potensic Atom batteries could be used.

Ha ha, I’m not tech support. Just imagine if everyone that watched my channel were asking for step by step help. What I do provide is assistance. Viewers ask questions & I provide answers. Viewers try to figure things out and when they get stuck, they tell me what exactly they have done and where they are stuck. So feel free to let me know what you’ve done, and where you are stuck.
Something I noticed and wish would change. Is all drones seem to follow the same pattern. They all seem to imitate the shape and look of the DJI Mini's no matter what. I remember finding a drone called something like the "V-Coptr" or something like that. But it only has two motors. And in doing so, allows the drone to have a flgiht time around 52-Minutes due to not having to power another 2 motors. I believe it is the only VTOL Drone I have seen on the consumer market. I remember seeing someone make a sketch of their fantasy drone. They were just having fun with the idea. But they had two drones. One of them had three motors, the other had two. The 3-motors had two traditional motors pointed vertical along the base body. While having the 3rd motor akin to that of a prop plane. The 2-motor one had one big motor, and a cylinder shaped wind shaft going through the mid, with a horizontal motor. with a big one on top. While they probably have their own issues with flight, I would really love to see some new and cool looking drones. Fyi, if you are able to get your hands on a V-coptr, then I would recommend giving it a try. I am pretty sure they were discontinued though.

The 9 km range is BOGUS. I get less than 650m. My DJI Mini 2 does 1.1 km under the exact same conditions and location. PS. I've had the Fimi mini 3 for 3 weeks and have had the chance to fly and test it over 20 flights Pros: Feature packed..ie. quick shots, tracking, hyperlapse, waypoints. Camera good in low light, (finally a true level horizon). Price is good. No geofencing. Negatives: Hover is not super stable. Moves up down. Strong winds will move it sideways. Not great on windy/gusty days. I figure it has level 4 wind resistance. Colour profile in videos is good but not great (too saturated/colors not realistic). CPU/chip set is weak. If you put it in 48mp photo it is unflyable. Also range is 650m. Flight time 22 minutes My Conclusion: The Fimi Mini 3 is worth the money if you want a feature packed drone with no geofencing that's good in low light. But I'd still recommend the DJI Mini 4K or DJI Mini 3 for a better experience and after sales service.
Are you in the USA with FCC transmission, or somewhere else with CE? My old Mini 2 could go a few miles + without any issue. I never range tested it, but I took it out over 12,000 feet a few times. I've taken my AIR 3, out 5+ miles & still had all but one bar of signal strength. This is in North Dakota USA
@@johnmajka5404 I live in Canada's largest City. Everything I own is FCC. I can only speak to my experience. In the same location, same conditions I get 1.1km with DJI mini 2, 900m with DJI mini 3 Pro, Fimi Mini 3 gets 650m. Fimi are always the worst when it comes to performing to spec. They want beginners to think they bought something better than DJI.
@@johnmajka5404 Nice. I do 2 km (6560 ft) with my original Fimi Mini, but I am always worried about winds etc. and so happy to come back. :-) Signal is no problem, both video and control.
@@johnmajka5404 All my drones are FCC. I Live in Canada's largest city. My DJI drones do 50% further than my Fimi drones. The Fimi Mini 3 may be bad because of underpowered CPU is diverting power from antennas to bigger sensor Camera. Also I am convinced it is not great in gusty wind.
I'd wait for the Fimi Mini 3 SE which is to be launched soon. I bet they will replace the CPU/chip set so it can handle the Fimi mini 3 camera's capabilities and not freeze up in 48mp picture. And also correct the lack of range issue.
Fimi has put out several firmware updates to address issues. If you own the drone in this video, update your firmware. So far, no reported issues with mine.
Steve: A) Your wife has left you or B) She was on vacation out of the country. I know one of these is true as she would have killed you and there would be no video with you slamming into her walls. So which is true? I'm glad you did this, but I will miss you. Part 2 is cancelled. ;-)

Your review of the Fimi X8SE 2022 V2 Is one of the reasons I purchased that drone late last year. Had very good luck with it until recently it just fell out of the sky. It's still within the warranty.. The past 10 days Fimi has been nothing but BS. All the information they asked for I provided immediately and then they just slow play you on this daily request for information as if they didn't already receive it The whole system is designed to make you kind of give up. I say this not only based on my experience in the past 10 days but looking through the forms. Yea They manufacture some pretty decent drones, better customer service there isn't it customer service it seems like everyone talks to the same person her name is Amy and her job is just to slow play you as far as any warning issues. I don't blame you but I think it is something that you really should inform people because that is part of buying a drone is the customer service when there's a problem. I haven't seen one good review of their customer service.
One day I’ll make a new review of CUSTOMER SUPPORT for drones. I made one before and I had positive experience but not everyone does with every company, especially if they don’t live in one of the key countries. If you ask people what the biggest negative is with DJI Drones, they’ll tell you it is customer support.
Is this a viable alternative once the big bad nasty DJI drones have been banned? It seemed a bit crap, but America seems to be embracing backward steps these days, it's happening with healthcare, living standards, potential presidents and now drones.
American politics runs on MONEY and DJI has plenty, so expect DJI to Buy its way out of a total ban. I don’t foresee a ban of DJI Drones for the hobbiest.

Only AUTEL and DJI make such Consumer drones. Have a look at their catelogue of consumer drones and you'll find a few.

That is exactly what prop guards are for. However if a product doesn’t come with them, then it would be wrong to add them in a review

Yes, if you use the PLUS battery the weight goes a few grams over 250

Does this drone have Geofencing like DJI drones?
No. Only DJI Drones have the DJI No Fly Zones. Other drones only warn you if you are standing near an airport.

Apparently yes by selecting WIFI on the side of the drone. However when I tried it with the App it didn’t work.

Alternatives other than the hoverair x1 which is ok but quite expensive
It looked better more balanced in night mode shots than the regular shots

Something I noticed and wish would change. Is all drones seem to follow the same pattern. They all seem to imitate the shape and look of the DJI Mini's no matter what. I remember finding a drone called something like the "V-Coptr" or something like that. But it only has two motors. And in doing so, allows the drone to have a flgiht time around 52-Minutes due to not having to power another 2 motors. I believe it is the only VTOL Drone I have seen on the consumer market.
I remember seeing someone make a sketch of their fantasy drone. They were just having fun with the idea. But they had two drones. One of them had three motors, the other had two. The 3-motors had two traditional motors pointed vertical along the base body. While having the 3rd motor akin to that of a prop plane. The 2-motor one had one big motor, and a cylinder shaped wind shaft going through the mid, with a horizontal motor. with a big one on top.
While they probably have their own issues with flight, I would really love to see some new and cool looking drones. Fyi, if you are able to get your hands on a V-coptr, then I would recommend giving it a try. I am pretty sure they were discontinued though.

The 9 km range is BOGUS. I get less than 650m. My DJI Mini 2 does 1.1 km under the exact same conditions and location.
PS. I've had the Fimi mini 3 for 3 weeks and have had the chance to fly and test it over 20 flights
Pros: Feature packed..ie. quick shots, tracking, hyperlapse, waypoints. Camera good in low light, (finally a true level horizon). Price is good. No geofencing.
Negatives: Hover is not super stable. Moves up down. Strong winds will move it sideways. Not great on windy/gusty days. I figure it has level 4 wind resistance. Colour profile in videos is good but not great (too saturated/colors not realistic). CPU/chip set is weak. If you put it in 48mp photo it is unflyable.
Also range is 650m. Flight time 22 minutes
My Conclusion: The Fimi Mini 3 is worth the money if you want a feature packed drone with no geofencing that's good in low light. But I'd still recommend the DJI Mini 4K or DJI Mini 3 for a better experience and after sales service.
Are you in the USA with FCC transmission, or somewhere else with CE? My old Mini 2 could go a few miles + without any issue. I never range tested it, but I took it out over 12,000 feet a few times. I've taken my AIR 3, out 5+ miles & still had all but one bar of signal strength. This is in North Dakota USA
@@johnmajka5404 I live in Canada's largest City. Everything I own is FCC. I can only speak to my experience. In the same location, same conditions I get 1.1km with DJI mini 2, 900m with DJI mini 3 Pro, Fimi Mini 3 gets 650m. Fimi are always the worst when it comes to performing to spec. They want beginners to think they bought something better than DJI.
@@johnmajka5404 Nice. I do 2 km (6560 ft) with my original Fimi Mini, but I am always worried about winds etc. and so happy to come back. :-) Signal is no problem, both video and control.
@@johnmajka5404 All my drones are FCC. I Live in Canada's largest city. My DJI drones do 50% further than my Fimi drones. The Fimi Mini 3 may be bad because of underpowered CPU is diverting power from antennas to bigger sensor Camera. Also I am convinced it is not great in gusty wind.

Yes… it is called MANUAL camera settings. Everything was left in AUTO due to the changing lighting conditions.
Can I fly with just my phone
Nope. I did not see an option for WIFI flight.

I'd wait for the Fimi Mini 3 SE which is to be launched soon. I bet they will replace the CPU/chip set so it can handle the Fimi mini 3 camera's capabilities and not freeze up in 48mp picture. And also correct the lack of range issue.
Fimi has put out several firmware updates to address issues. If you own the drone in this video, update your firmware. So far, no reported issues with mine.

Your review of the Fimi X8SE 2022 V2 Is one of the reasons I purchased that drone late last year. Had very good luck with it until recently it just fell out of the sky. It's still within the warranty.. The past 10 days Fimi has been nothing but BS. All the information they asked for I provided immediately and then they just slow play you on this daily request for information as if they didn't already receive it The whole system is designed to make you kind of give up. I say this not only based on my experience in the past 10 days but looking through the forms. Yea They manufacture some pretty decent drones, better customer service there isn't it customer service it seems like everyone talks to the same person her name is Amy and her job is just to slow play you as far as any warning issues. I don't blame you but I think it is something that you really should inform people because that is part of buying a drone is the customer service when there's a problem. I haven't seen one good review of their customer service.
One day I’ll make a new review of CUSTOMER SUPPORT for drones. I made one before and I had positive experience but not everyone does with every company, especially if they don’t live in one of the key countries. If you ask people what the biggest negative is with DJI Drones, they’ll tell you it is customer support.

Is this a viable alternative once the big bad nasty DJI drones have been banned? It seemed a bit crap, but America seems to be embracing backward steps these days, it's happening with healthcare, living standards, potential presidents and now drones.
American politics runs on MONEY and DJI has plenty, so expect DJI to Buy its way out of a total ban. I don’t foresee a ban of DJI Drones for the hobbiest.
