      I am unaware what press my Painting paper is,given the poor colour outcome that I abe alredy mentioned. The paper is quite smooth and no freckles or roughness but not a good water holder . could you help me understand what sort of paper is it? Since from Childhood I have been painting with Artisan Brand painting paper and suddenly this is disappointing me.

      Use 300 GSM watercolour paper for best results.
      But if you are starting to learn Watercolours you can use cartridge papers for practice.
      Even handmade paper are also good for practice.
      You can ask your further doubts on my Instagram also.

    While Brustro's colors are brighter, they seem to lack the transparency which is a must for watercolors. Camlin also lacks transparency compared to more expensive brands like Winsor and Newton, but seems far better than Brustro in that department. Either way, Camlin seems far superior to Brustro for the price, at least for the tubes.

    I felt like camel colors were used with too much water especially crimson. Crimson of camel was tea consistency and brustro was more like milk/cream consistency. Honestly I would put bit more and go for sennelier watercolor over brustro if I'm increasing budget for watercolor. Won't get a big variety of color for similar price range but you'll see a huge difference in quality. Also been using camel for a long time and they are pretty vibrant. You can check videos for camel review by other artists on TH-cam as well.

    Any day, Camlin Artist’s watercolours are way better than Brustro’s. The true orange is in Camlin. Brostro’s is more yellow, that’s not what pure orange is. The Prussian blue in Brustro is more like Ultramarine than Persian. The crimson test can’t be justified. You took more pigment for Brustro and half the amount for Camlin. Crimson is supposed to be towards pink unlike Brustro’s which will never give you bright purple. And artists usually prefer to mix their own purples than buy a readymade one. Hence it is not in the Camlin box. Brustro colours are for kids!

      @@btszone68 Camlin. Any day. Reputed brand. Since 1963, at least. Highly pigmented. Used by professional artists since decades. Both look good on paper but Brustro turns out to be patchy and blotchy at times. Not as smooth and creamy as Camlin watercolours. The archival grade of Camlin is proven. Brustro is too new to be relied upon for this.

      Exactly my thoughts. Also, lightfastness is a major issue with brustro so is transparency.. They have no standard rating on them while camlin does.

      @@saloni.sharma It's just their marketing gimmicks that are making their trashy products sell. They have no standardsat all. Colour with identical packaging available in other contries, with different brand names. Only the print on it changes. These are made by some cheap Chinese paint-manufacturing companies. These are actually student-grade colours marketed as 'Artist's' colours.

    Just to let you know Camlin has a variety of colors shades available if you buy tubes separately and those colors are vibrant as well and definitely trustable but brustro are not as vibrant as those colors. These sets of Camlin are manufactured in China or like quality is questionable but if you go for artists grade and but separate tubes. You'll know the difference. Also brustro is shady idk but i just can't trust on this brand as my experiences with every new product I'm buying from them is getting worse. And lastly sheets are also a major factor some display colors very differently compared to others

      @ChristopherSparks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope. BTW, brustro is chalky, at least mine is. The pigment rubs off after drying. It just rubs off slightly but still is annoying. Also, they seem to be lying about the pigment codes cause all their pans have same pricing when some pigments are clearly more expensive than others. Also, both camlin and brustro use fugitive pigments. Using them for commissioned work is like cheating unless you mention it beforehand to the client that the colors would fade in a couple of years(if not kept covered). If you have some amount of money, you can actually go with Daniel Smith Essentials set. It's a split primary set. Add some cheaper earth tones from whitenights or something and you're good to go. Well, if not go for camlin as per my experience. But be guarded against light.
