I’m a novice, but seriously passionate. It’s been a week, I’m able to play all 3 phrases with practice 1hr daily. I can’t wait to change chords faster and play without mistakes. Thank you Tomas for being the best tutor on TH-cam 🎉
Dear Sir, I wana thank you very much. I never dream I could play something even close to Malagueña. I will play it untill my finger bleed so I can do it at the speed you play at the end of the video. Once again thank you very much!!!
This is so helpful. I just want to thank you so much for your time and effort in putting these videos together. To me they are priceless. Again thank you!
Wow, Thank you! just found this since I just started playing at the ripe age of 45, haha. Always loved Spanish guitar, never thought I would be able to play but and these lessons are structured so organically that, as you said, makes it look " a little" more accessible for me. Thank you again!
Love it that you brushed off the add6 saying I'm not sure. That was good stuff for beginners. I remember being intimidated by all but open easy chords early on. Don't let the technicals stop you, people! Trust your ear, your hands, and heart!!
In the video I explained that it is like playing a G chord but just played differently. I did this as reference so that beginners can understand it better. It is a G chord without the high E tacked on.
I'm starting to appreciate the classical guitar ... used to learn/play pop songs (4 yrs), but recently stumbled on these gems. Thanks, I'll be back to learn from you Tomas!!
I’m new to the channel. I play a lot of guitar but haven’t played much Spanish guitar. I really like the way you teach and how you make it so approachable. Looking forward to many more great lessons. Thank you!
Beginner? Do this ... Learn this lesson with the chords and picking, get up to moderate speed and check out his lesson on improvising. Use this lesson and improvise implementing rasgueados techniques for more fun. Have fun, don't make it work or the attitude kills the desire to progress and the guitar becomes another piece of clutter unused ...don't do that.
Very nicely instructed. I like to play the Em in the first position then move to the second fret for the index finger, then on to the 4th fret. Then back to the second position and then the first position. I also like playing the fu chords in alternating up-and-down strumming. It sounds like a real Spanish Flavor.
I'm learning to play guitar, ) and love Spanish music. This sounds like it could be a cool intro to Paint It Black ! Think I'll give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration sir .
I just launched this new beginner spanish guitar course that I think you will really enjoy! You can check it out with my 14-day FREE trial. Go here for more information! realguitarsuccess.com/signup-spanish-guitar-beginners/
Love the simplicity of your teaching on something that sounds pretty complex… the only difference I can think of between acoustic vs Spanish guitars are the strings possibly? Steel vs nylon, without actually googling it, is my probably wrong, answer for the 2 types of guitars.
Hi Maurice you have a nice nuts and bolts approach to teaching. I taught my self fingerstyle piano the same way kind of. And I've been studying fingerstyle guitar and I enjoy everyone that is on you tube from Daddystove pipe to virtuoso guys and in between. Guys like Roybookbinder and Doyle Dykes"" Frank Vignola back to Davevanronk and Leon Redbone and my list goes on and on. Thanks for putting yourself out there. Great job
⚔️ thx it’s good to know I’m not alone on the opened F cord. The instructor looks comfortable with playing it: His index finger could be longer than average.🛡️
Very nice sound Sir, I didn’t know the G one. I am hoping you can do a series for Spanish stuff similar to this? Flamenco is much harder but this gives hope to the average Joe, like me 🙂
Hi, Thomas, I’ve been playing for years however I could never play bar chords and still can’t as my fingers are short and it’s hard for me to put my finger across all of the strings. Do you have any tips for that.
lol same, I've been going from heavy trash metal to melodic fingerstyle flamenco/classical/Romantic classical/ and rock. Everything is fun to play honestly I like to have versatility in my playing and to pick up new teqniques.
Thanks for the tutorial. The Spanish word, 'Malagueña', is pronounced with a silent 'U' and a hard 'G' as in 'goat'. If the 'U' was not there, the 'G' would sound like an 'H', just in the world 'Gente' meaning people, it's pronounced 'hente'.
Is nylon strings the answer you were looking for? I think 'acoustic' normally refers to the ones with steel strings, yeah? And then the classical and Spanish guitars have nylon strings for the higher strings. And some minor body-shape differences between classical and Spanish? I'm going to attempt to learn this on my electric guitar >_> :D

For that "Spanish" sound...nylon is the way to go 👍🏼🎸.
Thank you so much for all of your help!

Amazing thanks for making it easy
Nice Lesson...Thanks...

I like to add a tremolo on the e string. Either way great lesson to get a start on the basics of the Spanish sound.
Good choice!
Show, obrigado
Please do more spanish song (Malaguenas long version, asturia, etc), it sounds exotic :) Last but not least, thanks for sharing Tomas.
My pleasure. More on the way.😊

bloody good video.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
im torn between practicing heavy thrash rhythms and sweet sounding spanish guitar..
Practice both 😄 I’m bouncing between some sweet Spanish sound to upbeat Johnny Cash.

I'm going to attempt to learn this on my electric guitar >_> :D
Is this played in standard tuning?
yes
i learned nly recently that its the andalusian cadence
Take for simplifying things.
Pls do “How to hold the little e string on the first fret without making your finger bleed” pls 😵🙏
Bravo Nikita
A little blood never hurt...j/k. If you have a nylon string, your pinky shouldn't be bleeding.
@@Flamenco4Umetal strings 💀
Practice eventually u wont notice
@@NotEntirelyThere the b l o o d 😭❓
EZ ---a Spanish guitar is made in Spain...and speaks flamenco
you talk too much
You do.
You are explaining way too fast I can barelly keep up that pace and the way you explain how to hold the fingers I have seen better guitar tutorials
I appreciate your feedback, you can also slow down the playback speed of my video if that helps. Best of luck to you!
