I might just be an older aged band group possibly. In high school every once in a while I hear 2 different age groups play the same song but its always the older group that plays it faster and with more advanced notes. just a guess though

I love the eyes by the mouth and the band! I play violin, but my sister plays trumpet. I'm excited for her concert. Sometimes I wish I played a band instrument
Nah, violin is awesome! I have a 5 string banjo at home and one time I got bored and put the bridge of my old broken violin onto it so I could play it like a cello. 11/10, it sounded aweful. Long live the banjello :)
As a trumpet player who struggled with the "jazz" section, I didn't realize the trombone part for it was just as bad. Well done, y'all! I do miss playing in a group.
Yeah, we only go to the state level in division 4a. We've been to BOA qualifiers once, but it was more for fun than anything. We got like 3rd to last place (agents flo mo, hebron, and some other crazy 6a's)
@@landrydunhm3067 Our school is 6A and we`re in this one school district that has pretty much the best schools in the state in one area, we've won state multiple times in a row already (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023) Hebron`s show was pretty good, (we're outside of texas fyi) We nearly made it to semifinals, overall nats was insanely fun.

Trombone 2 part is different than one, or trombone 2 has decided to play the Baritone or French Horn part, if you know what to listen for you can hear he is playing.
So what happened is that I set my phone's mic facing my first chair so it's really hard to hear us play. We have 2 people on tb 2 and it's the normal part, you can only just barely hear us XD.
As a bone player myself this mf on 1st is using some wild positions for some wild notes that should not pe played in the wild position in question. I should probably ask our 1st cause I’m on 2nd so idk what fancy stuff they do
Lol, he’s basically the best trombone player in division 4a in Texas. Gimme a time stamp and I could probably they’ll you what he’s doing, but our 1st chair isn’t even on screen so it’ll be a little silly to figure out:)
Lol, let’s just say they had a rough year senior year in general, but this was basically sight reading for us. I think we looked at this song for a week, maybe less time, so everyone was a little rusty.
@@kevinclayton3798 we play it every year, so most of them already kinda knew it. But our band was a beast. Top 3 in sound in our division in marching season and concert season.

its super easy to learn but getting a good tone on it and like being good on it is pretty hard (I mean i guess it isnt that hard compared to other instruments) but its def easy to learn and you get the hang of it fast
@slovakxolotl oh yeah, I haven’t looked at a slide chart in years. Although I’m pretty slow at some of the more rare alt slide positions like Bb in trigger 4 (I actually have to do that for a song I’m playing rn lol). For the most part, the difficulty in trombone at my level is tone quality, slide technique, articulation, breathing/ breath control, and sight reading (especially jazz rhythms). But overall trombone is one of the more simple instruments to pick up and learn quick (especially with a good teacher).
Yes, he's to my right, and the dude's insane! He's a 3 years-running all-state Jazz player in Texas and could probably go to national High School competitions if our school was involved. I had my stand angled so you couldn't see him (it's just a reading preference)
The dancing makes it. I'm going to have to watch the trombone sections more carefully from now on.
Of course!
i think it also helps that he has googly eyes on it lol
@@landrydunhm3067 the trombone section will do dum things sometime

Is no one gonna talk about how fire that tie was though
It really is! I have a rotation of 3 trombone ties and that one's my favorite still.
I love how this has become a trend for so many instruments
You guys were really fun to watch
Also the tie is a 10/10 may need to have it for myself
I'd give you a link, but it was a gift from an old girlfriend years ago, so I'm not sure where she got it
I love the playing but I can’t ignore the dancing and the eyes on his tombone😂
Great playing. The Trombone section is always the fun section in band.
Yessir!
my trombone section is literally silent asf :(((
same also at our marching band thingy we were the ones with the glow sticks and candy. The baritone really wanted to be a trombone at that point.
I feel like your band played it way faster than every other band ive seen
The Boston Pops plays it fast.
I feel like this normal speed and other bands play it slower

Beep, Praise be to that glorious username and comment 🙏
the dancing and the eyes on the trombone makes me a lot more happy than it should
I know! It's great

Oh no, not at all 😂😂😂 I just thought it was funny
Woodwinds will never know what we brass players truly get up to in the back
Only a smidgen of chicanery and jaunty anarchy :)
I wish my school had a bigger trombone section lol, also loving this from a flute player! You guys also did so good 10/10
Loving this as an 8th grade trumpeter with only 2 trombones in our school's band, I am also wishing we had a larger trombone section!
Don't get too many though. As one of the seven trombones in my band trying to balance the sound is interesting.

The googly eyes accessory reminds me of a little donut chain that I had on my trombone for like a year lol.

Like, a person who plays cello? We don't have strings in our wind ensemble.
Athough we actually did have a double bass in the tuba section that year.
