This scene (and episode) is now sadly ironic with Sophia, Blanche, and Dorothy waiting to see if Rose will live, when in real life Betty White ended up outliving the others.
@Your Neighborhood Friendly Bernkastel/Mariuteau Actually Betty White was the oldest. She was born in 1922, Bea Arthur was born in May 1923 and Estelle Getty was born in July 1923. Rue McClanahan was born a decade later in 1934.
Such a freakin heart breaking episode. But what made this show so triumphant is how they can be serious for serious subjects but still fill it with so much humor. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW
This scene has such a different meaning now. The girls are waiting outside makes it feel like they are somewhere else waiting for Betty to join them. And she asks her daughter to kiss her goodbye because she knows its her time. RIP.
This scene in my opinion always gives me Betties wonderful ability to be both serious and yet comedic in her acting. She was truly talented and a rare gem during her time while with us. This scene for me on the show was among some the best and saddest lines. Rose "come here Kirsten, kiss mommy goodbye. Kirsten "Mom don't say that." Rose "Kiss Mommy goodbye." RIP Betty White. 😢
It may seem crazy but I think Blanches prayer really worked and god decided to spare her, it's nice to think that because Blanche she still is living, actually they all said they prayed to spare her. Even tho she was the oldest, she's still going on, I wonder if she ever thought of that scene the same way we do. Now that's true friendship, that's how to really be golden.
What I never understood about this episode is, if Rose is in the hospital having heart surgery why was she never hooked up to any tubes or machines. They just have her lying there on the hospital bed.
Yeah, sitcoms do that. It's annoying, especially for those of us who have spent time in the hospital. She would have had iv, heart monitors etc, and would be in a hospital gown...
@@jovanolague3161 - Yes true, but in "real life" right after a person has major surgery they are always hooked up to machines and tubes during the recovery. Not just lying there on the bed. So to say that Rose had major heart surgery and during her recovery she doesn't need the support of any hospital equipment is a bit silly. Yes again it is just a TV show, but a little unrealistic for the idea of the Hospital scene.
Dorothy: "I am the wolf, boom boom The big, bad wolf, boom boom (Kirsten comes) Hello!" Kirsten: "Well, I'm glad my mum's illness hasn't upset you all."
"Live from New York it's Saturday Night!" - My favorite quote from this entire series.
Pyrenees Gal and it really happen she hosted SNL
Fast forward 18 years after this episode first aired
Great delivery as always..

chocoholic1x1 Betty is the only one left
+LamontS. Ironically she was also the oldest of the girls, in real life (I'm pretty sure she was the oldest in real life right?) and on the show.
@@confusedaf1112 for years I heard that Estelle Getty was the youngest of them all. Rue was actually the youngest of them.

"Not your girls, my girls aren't too young for anything" lol
RIP Rose (Betty White) you will be missed, Golden Girls Forever :)

It's ironic since Betty White would eventually host SNL in 2010.
Makes me wonder why they never invited her to host it ages before
Cesare Augusto She said in an interview they asked her several times over the years, but she was too nervous to do it.
Omfg “That’s a good question, Mr. Carson, but first I’d like to sing a number from my new album.” That line gets me every time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Doctor: Yep she's ready.
R.I.P Betty White🌹, thank you for the greatest memories and for being a friend😇
Now all our 4 GG are gone. My all-time favorite show. They were all so great in their roles. My favorite has always been Dorothy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Betty White is hilarious! R.I.P Bea, Rue, and Estelle.
Rip Betty best line ever
0:57 the best line in the golden girls series

Wow when she said kiss Mommy goodbye I lost it
One of Betty White's best performances on the show.
"But first I'd like to sing a song from my new album"
that was very funny.
😂😂😂
Who knew 18 years after this episode aired, she would actually be the host of SNL. How ironic.
Now lean in close. This is important: Live from New York It's Saturday Night!
theres something i want to tell u, now lean in close, this is very important, LIVE FROM NEW YORK ITS SATURDAY NIGHT!
Chromaggia69 (puppydogeyes96) erin2 - 2 2

Betty white rip 1922 2021
She made me laugh and later I cried unknowingly
This is my absolute favorite Golden Girls moment ever!
Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!
LMFAO....way to go, Rose! :)
I love the golden girls me and my mom watch it every night together and whenever I see this I lmao
I just saw this part now I laughed my head off
goodbye Betty🌹
It's ironic how she did SNL in 2010, also it's ironic how in this episode they were fearing Rose will die yet Betty outlived them all
OMG already at that time, SNL was already the hit of medias. Love it
IM SO PROUD OF HER!!!
I laughed on this so bad I couldn't breathe. Live from New York it's Saturday Night!!! :D
"I want you to be around for a looong time..." 😭
And she said the same when she hosted SNL
And now you realize how much you miss the other girls and are grateful for Betty.

It’s a sitcom, not real life.
Because the old TV code of the time. To get it on daytime syndication you couldn't show things like that back then. The regs got a revamp in 2005.
Yeah, sitcoms do that. It's annoying, especially for those of us who have spent time in the hospital. She would have had iv, heart monitors etc, and would be in a hospital gown...
@@Djarra Why not?? Whatnwas the rationale and how do you know Im curious?

Betty White aka Rose Nylund BeatriceArther aka Dorothy Zbornak are my two favourite actresses
Dorothy: "I am the wolf, boom boom
The big, bad wolf, boom boom (Kirsten comes)
Hello!"
Kirsten: "Well, I'm glad my mum's illness hasn't upset you all."
Betty White and the actress and the actress who plays her daughter actually look alike in my opinion
live from newyork its saturday night
Sophia, Blanche and Dorothy are now well taken care of. So sad that the next reunion of Golden Girls will be up there.
(Cue Don Pardo) "It's Saturday Night Live...!"
kiss mommy good bye ;(
This was practice so that when she hosted, she would be prepared.... :0) go betty!
Wow This scene hits different now .Betty white aka Rose is really gone now.reunited with blanche,Dorothy and Sophia
0:48 this is very “important”…Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!
🤣💀🤣💀 #ivedied
she the only one left from the golden girls :(
10 years later she still the last golden girl
lmao!!!!!! i can't stop laughing!
cool vid
I don't recall ever seeing Rose's kids in the show.
This character made several appearances actually ...
Melodie Frances They changed the character(Kirsten) tho, but rose other daughter(Bridget) was on the show as well.
"How much of this stuff did you give her?"....... lol
2:16 Oof, if my mom said that to me I’d be a mess afterwards
Where does she say the line?
Probably to young to see Rose in the state she was in
How are children too young to come to the hospital?
bb, this is the weirdest clip yet. XD
I agree
the hell? :P
Hey, it's the creepy murderous lady from "Cobra" as Rose's daughter
Oh don't worry, Kirsten. She will outlive them all.
😂
Did they routinely send women off to surgery in bullet bras back then?
LMAO
Rose looks god awful. Blanche should have slapped some makeup on her post-op!
Stop it
XDDD this is soo weak.
