Erin Torpey started as Clint's daughter and left the show as Mitch's daughter. Bree Williamson started as Mitch's daughter and ended as Clint's daughter.
this was one of the most heart breaking scenes I've ever seen. Viki actually broke my heart saying goodbye to Jessie every one knows how much Viki loves Jessica
I certainly applaud Bree Williamson's interpretation of Jessica but Erin Torpey's legacy cannot be negated. It's only natural for people to compare actresses when they play the same role but whatever we feel about Jessica in our hearts; it is because of Erin Torpey. She is the one that DEFINED Jessica and gave this character life. And as we watched her grow up; we got to know Jessica; and when it was time for her to spread her wings; she left the role in such a way that Bree could pick up where she left off and further define Jessica's young adulthood into womanhood. Erin is the one that put this character on the map.
And Erin was just a little girl. She did an amazing job. I really loved Bree W. as Jessica too because I didn’t see that little girl from the 90’s anymore.
This is one of the finest scenes in daytime television; Erika Slezak is the finest and most awarded actress and Erin Torpey literally grew up at the heels of the master. This is a true goodbye between a mother and daughter and it is absolutely gut wrenching.
So agree! I LOVED the connection and chemistry Erika and Erin had together. Such a mother/daughter relationship! These two hit it out of the park here.
Magnificent 7 Her, including Kristen Alderson (Starr), Camryn Grimes (Cassie/Mariah), and Kimberly M. (Robin Scorpio) were young and was on a contract as child actresses. Unless I am missing someone.
@@澀禔憤 yes!! That was the one! I’m so glad I’m not going crazy! Lol. I think what happened was that SoapNet didn’t have rights to the song, so they had to replace it. But I really loved the original one that aired on ABC! 😩
I am surprised Vicki didn't keep Jessica away from Clint. She kept her away from Clint ever since the divorce and it should have been Vicki who was kept away from Jessica. The writers and Vicki were wrong on how they kept Jessica and Clint apart.
I grew up with Erin and Erika and I hated when they brought Natalie on the show and forced her down our throats and that ridiculous Mitch Lawrence storyline. Bree’s Jessica was good but Erin will always be the best.
I can not remember why Erin left. I frankly was never a fan of Bree's. She always played Jessica as entitled even when she didn't. When they brought Erin back for the scene with Cristian it was perfect!
I feel the same way! Natalie was a horrible addition to OLTL she was just miserable and she made everybody else around her miserable and she wrecked so many lives.
OLTL stopped being good since Natalie was added on there. Evangeline was a good addition but I wish she would have came in the early years like the 90s. The show certainly took a turn for the worse when the original Todd Manning left, and had that wack ass guy play him.
At this point (and beyond), they made Jessica almost exactly like Viki. Both had monsters for fathers (until it came out that Clint was Jessica's dad again), both abused as kids, and their bouts with D.I.D...
It is about time Vicki does something write. To bad the writers didn't get it right. They should have left Clint & Vicki married forever and t hey should have never wrote Natalie into the show. They should have never wrote that Natalie was Clint & Vicki child.
Natalie was the worst thing that happened on OLTL. Honestly that show wasn’t good after the mid 2004. I liked Evangeline’s character but I wish she would have came in the 90s when it was popping.
In 2002, I thought this story was ridiculous! In 2024, I think this story is insane. The pieces don't connect. I'm thrulled that we got Natalie. I'm thankful we got Bree Willamson. The rest seems off....the parantage, Clint’s un-involvement. + Where were Kevin/Joey. In the 90s they lived for Jessica. I know this was a period of Transition for Erin Torpey & the Creators. It just STILL doesn't make sense. However, I'm glad we got Natalie & Bree Williamson. It was just a mind boggling tale that began 15 years prior. MEH!
I hate recasts but I understand when it needs to happen. Recast Jessica wa perfect. She actually looked like Vicki's daughter. Both of them. Natalie looks more like her aunt Tina and it's not just the red hair.
Erin Torpey started as Clint's daughter and left the show as Mitch's daughter.
Bree Williamson started as Mitch's daughter and ended as Clint's daughter.
😮 VERY TRUE!

So true. We watched Jessica Buchanan and Robin Scorpio grow up, those actresses can’t be replaced.
See those aren't FAKE tears those are REAL tears and such a REAL moment ……..!
I often wondered how Erin Torpey would have done with the whole Tess DID story.

I must say Erin Torpey just out acted one of the best actresses on daytime of all time,

Thank you SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO MUCH for uploading this! I have been looking for this scene forEVER!
I love BREE but I love ERIN too!
Originally my favorite Jessica was Erin Topey and Bree's Jessica became my favorite during the last years of OLTL.
They should have wrote it in that Jessica lives with Clint from now on. Either wrote Clint back on the show and reunited him with Vicki.
This was the best Jessica Buchanan. The original one
Jeez this was so heartbreaking!!! they don't write soaps like this anymore
@starryeyes don't even get me started on Natalie and the writers of the show. They messed up on a number of great storylines.
She is the best actress on daytime!!! She is the best Jessica...but love Bree performance as Jessica and her alter Tess and Wes.
Does anyone have this exact same clip that aired originally on ABC? It had different music during the montage with Jessica and Vicki, Clint etc
Yes!! I remember the different song, too!! The lyrics had “wherever you are” in it; I am glad that I am not the only one who remembers that!

I will forever hate the character Natalie for what they did to poor Jessica to shove her down our throats

I liked Natalie

There was so much more that we didn’t know at this time. About Jessica’s DID and her own sexual abuse.

Viki, Roxy and Clint were terrible parents.

Ok I don't know if I am the only one who has thought of this, but why isn't Jessica taking Asa jet to London.
ATWT-OLTL Hughes-Buchanan because oltl was a very realistic soap opera drama series
she didn't want anyone to know she was leaving
if they writers were smart they would have wrote it in that Jessica remained in London with Clint permanently.

They are both beautiful and great actresses
