    You need a water cooling radiator to cool the warm water coming from peltier and your plant is ready to go.

    • @michrech
      @michrech 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      So long as the radiator is in the same room, it's counter productive -- it'll just blow the heat right back into the space you're trying to cool.

    Cool project. The reason peltiers not used to cool rooms down is because they are inefficient. You would need many peltiers to match a conventional air-conditioner capacity. Not to mention not feasible in cost. And power consumption to achieve the same result will be much higher.

    It is cool, but the hot air will heat the water. And you can use tap water to cool(water waste) you want to cool with a heatsink, that will heat up the air and cancel the cool air. That's why air conditioners have the cooler outside.

      Greetings,
      Jorge Antonio Gonzalez Morales, WOW! thats a super GRANDE moniker!💯😉
      SO, for you problem...
      I was thinking Just connect a THERMOSTAT and set the desired temperature, and it will turn on when the thermostat dictates🤷🏼‍♂️
      The water will only get as hot as the thermostat allows...the peltier elements are very awesome, because:
      If its winter and your need heat, you put the positive and negative power terminals one way, to get HEAT OUTPUT... then later when its SUMMER and hot, and you want COLD OUTPUT you just reverse🔁 negative&positive terminals🤷🏼‍♂️easy breezy! So you DON'T have to disassemble the heat sink and move components around🤷🏼‍♂️the peltier element HEATS or COOLS depending on which way the electricity is flowing💯
      As for the solar power part, add up the electrical requirements of all the components and have enough batteries to run the system components and enough battery power for 2days worth of power consumption.
      Then set up a solar panel to keep that systems batteries charged...
      have fun making one brother!
      👋Michael Elliott from Toronto🇨🇦

  • @HutchinsonJC
    @HutchinsonJC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This device is taking the heat energy from the air and moving it to the water tank. It could easily be made to go the other way around and heat the air and cool the water, too.
    The device's cooling effect, the way it's been setup in this video, is going to be applied to the side that has the aluminum block with the fan attached to it (You can clearly see the temperature of this side of the device cooling down with the thermometer sensor that was attached). The fan will then take the room's air and suck it through the fins in the heat sink which will cause the air blown from the fan to feel cooler. The peltier is moving the heat of the room to the water loop. You would need to probably dump the water and put fresh water from the tap at intervals. Another idea would be to somehow have a slow trickle from a faucet into the top of the water containment, and then have the water also doing a slow trickle out a window using the spout that was installed in the water containment unit. That way the water never gets too warm, it's always fresh. Warm water in the containment would be when this device would be most inefficient.
    You can find thermoelectric coolers running at 12v and 5 or 6 amps pretty easy on amazon. That's 60 to 72 watts, but how many BTU does that actually equal with inefficiencies etc in consideration? I don't know. I can tell you a 5,000 BTU window unit (115v 5amp) is probably in the neighborhood of 575 watts and inefficiencies are already in that math. From that, we might surmise that this project with a peltier *might* be worth 450 BTU of cooling?
    A single sleeping human might give off 315 BTU of heat and an active person might give off 400 BTU of heat... just for a rough idea. Someone can do a more precise math if they want.

    • @syrarax
      @syrarax 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or I think you could reverse the polarity of the peltier and pull the heat right back out, dependant on how good the heating/fan are

  • @ajinkyakabbur4511
    @ajinkyakabbur4511 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I see that your fan doesn't provide a good air flow. You would have been better off by swapping the cold and hot sides and making a water cooler instead.

      Airconditioning Unit works by pumping/tranfering the heat of the room to the outside of the room. In this case it will blow cool air but will not cool a room coz the heat from the water will also stay in the room. If you can manage to separate the hot water container outside the room and insulate the tubes it is theoreticaly possible to cool an entire room but it is not as eficient as AC units.

      You would have to change it evantually, but water can store a lot more energy than air. Water can store about 35 times more energy per volume than air. Depending on what temperature difference your TEC can create, you would need only a bucket of water to cool a perfectly insolated room.

      I thought that's why the spigot was there. You can empty it from the spigot and fill it from the top. I just wanted to see the water after cooling for a long time. There should be droplets or fogging at the top of the container if it is adding that heat from the difference.

    Perhaps two of them back to back, so the heat from one, is used to heat the other to give an extra effect.
    I thought chilled water would be a nice effect to have as well.
    Though considering two compartments with a wall of these in the middle to have a cooler and warmer side by side. So one chills your drink and the other warms your lunch, with a solar panel of 100W capability to drive it, with provides over 6 Amps.

    What if we did not attach peltier module in this project when we are using water-block ? We don't need fast cooling for domestic use , 15 -20 degrees cent. heat is enough !
    We can adjest the temp. afterwards according our need !!!

    Did you measure the air off the cold heat sink? Why not? This will provide very little air cooling.
