I own this lens on a6600 body and use it recently mostly with gimbal. You do not have to rebalance a gimbal every time when you change the focal length. You just need to set it to 35 when you do balancing, so in the middle and you are good to go.
I just saw you saying that.. and can get that outta my mind.. 😂😂😂 but nice video. I am a Fuji shooter. But I often visit your channel for you presentation. Super nice!! 🤓🤓
Amazing lens! I think if you do a blind test, no one would identify this lens as APSC if compared with full frame equivalent. Great video as always Arnúlfur! 👍🙂
I'm really looking forward to the tamron 17-70 2.8 for apsc in January. Looks super good for a allround lens with stabilization and at 850€ Will you look into the lens?
Hey man, which lens/camera combo did you use to shoot this video? Like at 1:05 which camera and lens did you use for this shot? That's the shot I'm trying to get with my TH-cam channel haha
Great video! I had a hard time choosing between this and gettting the sigma 16mm 1.4 and 56mm 1.4 but eventually went with the primes. I love it at times, but at other times I wish I could have the zoom so I wouldn’t have to constantly change lenses 🙏🏽👍🏽
Sony makes great lenses, just wish they were more affordable. The lack of OSS was an odd choice. I'm looking forward to the Tamron 17-70 f2.8 like many others.
I'm always eyeing this lens but it's very pricey and for the time being I'm also waiting for the upcoming Tamron 17- 70 mm f/2.8. hope that beats this. Mainly because of the stabilized and lower price.
Also love my Fuji 16-55 2.8 for APS-C pretty much for the same reasons. Downside with the fuji is the weight though. You guys are shooting very nearby where I live. I might bump in to you one day hahaha
“According to the internet”...it’s weather sealed 😂😂. For real though, the price is keeping me from buying it. Like I told you before, I’ll see how that (stabilized) Tamron 17-70 turns out before I upgrade from the 18-105.
Hello, please if you got a minute please answer me.... Is the Sony 16-55 F2.8 G absolutely silence like the 16-50 oss kit lens... at video work...? because i got the sigma 16mm 1.4 (an exelent lens, BUT unfortuantly the electronic moter on it, makes mach noise at video work at autofocus ...! Thank you for your time ..
Hey man, I’m looking to get new lenses for my first camera, came across this. It’s a very relatable and friendly feeling video. I loved it man, you seem like a real good guy. Thanks for the information.
What is your current Sony lens lineup? I just bought the a6600 with 18-135mm on eBay. Still learning, but trying to decide what glass investment makes the most sense. Still trying to figure out what focal length I find myself shooting in the most.
I have the Sigma trio and recently I get the 16-55G. Sharpness is a bit superior in Sony from f2.8 and all focal lenght than Sigma trio. Actually selling Sigma 16mm, only conserving 30mm and 56mm for my a6600.
I just wanted to say that I love what you're doing and all of the Videos you're putting out. Really informative consice and most of all entertaining. Absolutely perfect👌🏼Comparable to Peter Mcinnons content in my opinion😌 keep it up.
No idea if anyone will see this comment, but is there an equivalent to this lens including power zoom? I want to use it on a gimbal, however there are so many lenses that makes me confused.
That is such a beautiful lens. I've been looking at it and the Sigma or Tamron lens that are close to that range but less expensive. Decision, decision. Great review.
Hello, thank you alot for this video! I have a question though. I'm currently on a full frame sony a7iii and I do vlog type of videos. I really need help here because I can't decide if its good for me or not. Will the shakyness be a problem or can I just turn on the stabilization in the camera itsself? And this lens would be 24mm then right? I think that's just about wide enough to do vlogs. Icelandic photography genius, please help me out, I really need it. Btw. good video and merry christmas!
Great, great great ! For the lens and for your comments! I don’t know if I should thanks you, because of you, I just order that « fantastic » lens. When I’have my Sony A6000, I miss the kit lens 16-50mm, I love that range, but I give that kit lens. I have other lenses Sigma. 19mm, 30mm f1.4, and the old sharp 60mm, for travel I have the Sony 18-135mm great (+85% of the time on my camera) . --- But, this Sony 15-55mm will be, finally be my best bet on my old trustable Sony A6000. So, well, I thank you! 😂👌🏼 I send you the bill! 😊 // By the way, I don’t shoot video at all with the Sony A series, video is for my cell 😌
I have bought the Tamron 17-70 yesterday, but now iam considering to return it and take the Sony. Because I don’t like the haptics of the Tamron. Compared with my 70-350 g it makes a cheap impression.
I've noticed Sony lenses with OSS are not as sharp as lenses without OSS. This Lens include. It is so sharp. I'm not an expert with the engineering but seems mechanisms to stablise causes issues to sharpness
Questions from a newbie: Do you think a Sony a6600 in combination with the SONY 16-55MM F2.8 G would make a great system for recording bird videos like this example on youtube in which birds are landing on a feeder or food pile: ( th-cam.com/video/xbs7FT7dXYc/w-d-xo.html ) If the Sony a6600 or the SONY 16-55MM F2.8 G is not able to create great bird videos like the ones in the link should I buy a Sony A7Siii ?
I like this video arnulfur and I think that I will go with you in Iceland and I will go and swim in Atlantic Ocean together and catch a ship but if we die then nothing to do
@@Schonberg98I ended up getting the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary for Sony E Black from Sigma and I have been very impressed with it's overall quality.

Ah!! My bad thank you so much, will update. Usually on lenses that change sizes reballancing is a problem for me.
How do you like that combo, I just got the A6600 and am debating getting the 16-55mm
that comment actually I needed a lot thank u for sharing!!
It's funny when you film yourself and you notice you say "super nice" and "you know" waaay to often lol.
Hi! Love your videos and your aesthetic. I will be moving soon and would love to know what the color of your wall is called! Greetings from Austria
I just saw you saying that.. and can get that outta my mind.. 😂😂😂 but nice video. I am a Fuji shooter. But I often visit your channel for you presentation. Super nice!! 🤓🤓
Are you going to review the Tamron 17-70mm? Please do so! I’d love to see a comparison between these two
Just wanted to say, love your aesthetic and video style man! Always a joy to watch and learn from you! 💯✔🙏
I appreciate that! :)
Planning to make a video about the Tamron 17-70 for aps-c? It's goooood.
Amazing lens! I think if you do a blind test, no one would identify this lens as APSC if compared with full frame equivalent.

He says 7:15 that the camera he is recording the video from is an a6400
You're so great at what you do. You've helped me a lot with my Sony purchases over the years. Plus you're a great shooter!
Thanks a ton man! Means alot 🙏🏼

Great to mention about your Fuji Lens, both are on APSC
Just ordered mine today from the local store!! Quite excited! The only zoom lens I've tried thus far is my kit lens!!

I'm waiting for the Tamron 17-70 2.8 and how it will compete against this ... Looking forward to that video ... Great content mate ..keep it up ..👍
Yes I'm planning on getting the tamron, looking forward to testing out that lens for sure!

You definitely need to make a review 18-105 vs 15-55!! Photo and video! It will be awesome! Keep shooting dude!
Quickly, the 18-105mm very good for video vs the 18-135mm is better for photos .
I am super frustrated with the video autofocus on my Sigma prime trio, so I will be upgrading to this as soon as I can.
Hey man, I’m looking to get new lenses for my first camera, came across this. It’s a very relatable and friendly feeling video. I loved it man, you seem like a real good guy. Thanks for the information.
I just revisited this video, can you compare it with the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8
What is your current Sony lens lineup? I just bought the a6600 with 18-135mm on eBay. Still learning, but trying to decide what glass investment makes the most sense. Still trying to figure out what focal length I find myself shooting in the most.
Good question!
Fint!
Vet du om den är parfocal?
Har du förresten testat sigmas 18-35 1.8?
Ha en fin jul!
Very nice review. Thank you! Also thank you for speaking to both its photo AND video capabilities.
Great video
May I ask if I have a 35mm 1.8
Should I get the sigma 16mm 1.4 or 1655g better?
So now I'm stuck cause I want the Sigma 56 to complete my trio or have all in 1 and not waste time in changing lenses but love quality Sigma glass
I have the Sigma trio and recently I get the 16-55G. Sharpness is a bit superior in Sony from f2.8 and all focal lenght than Sigma trio. Actually selling Sigma 16mm, only conserving 30mm and 56mm for my a6600.

Yo Arnúlfur, great video as always! What do you think about the new Tamron 17-70mm? Would you prefer this over the Sony 16-55?
Hi, can i use this lens for time lapse stars at night
Hello, do you ever consider to use a monitor for your camera ?
Ill wait for the tamron 17-70 2.8
Excited for that
Same here looking forward to that lens!
Nice ! Also, when you using matte box for video - and you zoom out - the matte box will spin.. :)
What should your aperature be to get depth of field
No idea if anyone will see this comment, but is there an equivalent to this lens including power zoom? I want to use it on a gimbal, however there are so many lenses that makes me confused.
U use this lens with Full frame ? Its may be great 24-82,5 ? :)
我正準備購買這支鏡頭…… 你看起來是個溫柔的大塊頭👊
Great review, is the zoom by hand nice and smooth or steppy like the Tamron?
It's good 😊
Would you still choose this lens over the sigma 18 and tamron 17?
That is such a beautiful lens. I've been looking at it and the Sigma or Tamron lens that are close to that range but less expensive. Decision, decision. Great review.
Yubbb hahaha, I'm waiting to get my hands on that Tamron. It will be cheaper and with OSS :)
You wanna try out Tamron 17-70 f2.8 for apsc
I'm planning on getting that one!

This lens was designed for use on an apsc camera, not for use with a full frame.
Love your videos, big fan from Nepal😁
May be the tamron 17-70 2.8?
Will want to get myself that lens!
Thanks a lot for the review!
Glad it was helpful!
yaayyyy! even more convinced towards getting this lens now!
Hey mate, so what is camera and lens you used to create this exact video?
hey! Sigma 16mm + sony a6400 :)
I always wanted to buy it but the only problem is no oss its shows up when you go 30mm and higher
Yubb totally agree, that I would have loved to see in it. Specially at that price point OSS would have made this a perfect lens.
which lens is similar to this but with the stabilizer? anyone can help?
Great review as usual. Cheers from Greece !
Oscar is a national treasure. Man is always down to pose 😂👍🏼
I already have an 18-105/f4. Should I still get the 16-55/f2.8? I think the 18-105’s. focus to be a bit soft. The 16-105 seems to be tack sharp.
Great video 🙌 watching from Guyana 🇬🇾
❤❤
Great, great great ! For the lens and for your comments!

Please make videos on mobile editing photo's
is it a wide lens ?. Try shooting landscapes 🙏
Anyone counted how many times he said " super nice " ?😂
Really nice video man. I love your aesthetic when it comes to video and the light setup!
Merry Christmas!
I've noticed Sony lenses with OSS are not as sharp as lenses without OSS. This Lens include. It is so sharp.
I'm not an expert with the engineering but seems mechanisms to stablise causes issues to sharpness
Is it better than the Sigma?
what lens are you using to shoot this video?
Sigma 16mm
ICELANDER MASTER IS IT STILL SO EXPENSIVE!!!??
Everyone said it was too expensive. Even though I live in a country where the dollar is 9 times more expensive, I'm still considering buying it.
Waiting for an apparel drop from this guy with “Super nice” across everything, that on a hat/cap would be... sUper nice, you know?
Duuuuuuude that's the best idea ever! Hahahahaahaha 😆
SUPER NICE YOU KNOW
great review.
you know, the lens is super super nice;)
Great job, Iceman 8)
Thanks Rudy man!!

You are the best!
I love your accent
Not blaming you ... I bought a 6400. Then Sony released 3 new Fantastic lenses ... None of which have O.S.S. ! Sigma trio, and a gimbal for me !
That first like is mine 😂
If the lens was stabilised it would be much bigger in size and price. I’d rather pay for good glass over gadgetry.
your accent is not familiar but I like it 👍
Nice
I love the accent.
👍
I like this video arnulfur and I think that I will go with you in Iceland and I will go and swim in Atlantic Ocean together and catch a ship but if we die then nothing to do
the perfect lens that I will never own😂. I mean its good but rather have sigma 18-35 1.8 cause I can put it on a gimbal and faster aperture
Damn...buy this...or sell the a6400 and finally move to full frame...
Tough question tbh, I love my a74 though 😊
I am in this exact situation. But don’t know what FF lens to buy to get similar performance to the 16-55 on my a6400
@@Schonberg98I ended up getting the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary for Sony E Black from Sigma and I have been very impressed with it's overall quality.
I am not excited about paying $1400 for a lens.
Sorry. It is not perfect now. Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is a King for Sony APS-C.
