Think about this... Cory Wong and the horns have never shared the same airspace. Dirty loops recorded their bits and video in Sweden. Cory and the horns did theirs in the USA. The video was set up by matching up the gear - lights, camera brand and model, height and distances... Cory talks about it on his Podcast with Henrik Linder
Quincy Jones is just their manager though. They produce their songs themselves, together with Simon Petrén. I heard one of them say, in an interview, that they don’t send Quincy anything, not even demos, until it’s completely finished. They’re mad as hatters and it’s utterly brilliant. 😁
This channel made me discover these guys. So huge thanks for thay .I have to say theres not many bands in any genre that i listen to and im groovin to the beat smiling and blown away at the same time. Its definitely been awhile. These guys dirty loops are insany good. And just fun and happy. So good . Cant applaud them enough! T
Saw them live two nights ago. I can assure you, unbelievably, they sound just as good live. They’re a recording engineers dream. Phenomenal artists at the top of their game. I spent the whole gig either shaking my head or picking my jaw up off the floor
I saw them live about 6 years ago or so. Jonahs singing was definitely on point live as well, and it was absolutely tight enough. One of the best live shows I’ve seen all categories!
I've heard Aron play live on a few occasions. He was a hired session drummer for those gigs, and the music played was not this extreme pop fusion. I've gotta say, he was every bit as tight live as on these recordings, and extremely tasteful and respectful to the music that was played. He did not show off, and the few off the charts technical fills he pulled off was always blending with the music. He is insanely gifted. And he's really nice too.
This is beyond perfect - almost a target for ultimate energy, precision, expert in action - have to make errors or misses for regular music, and not music for relaxation, but for inspiration for the best musicians!
Yeah, that was pretty much gonna be my comment. As a metal head, definitely not my norm but, you cannot deny these guys! Their musicianship is remarkable and would probably be a phenomenal group to see live post-covid cause I'm pretty sure people are ready to get out and move & groove! 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼
one amazing thing about this band is even with the techinicality of playing, and with all the backing orchestra, i can still pick out the individual instruments in the mix so easily and be able to follow them individually. the production here is just wonderful and everything played to perfection... i dont doubt this band can pull this off live, i think its second nature to them, 3 complete virtuosos. they make it look easy and i love all the little playful looks they're always firing off towards each other, great stuff.
As I say always, when seeing extraordinary people: Not everybody is able to reach Mt. Everest without oxygen, not everybody is able to gain a giant body to win Mr. Olympia nine times in a row, not every human is able to run 100 meters in 9 sec. etc.. etc.. etc. In my opinion Dirty Loops is such an extraordinary Band like Dream Theater or Devin Townsend Projekt, where every single member is gifted with outrages talent and all meet together to the right time and at the right place. Ridiculous! Talent. It was difficult to tell the difference between the bass line and the back beat. The base accents and drum accents at times seemllesy and intricately working together to really compliment the dynamics. Sheww 🤯.
Dirty Loops are amazing, even live (seen them once at North Sea Jazz Festival)! What I think is funny, watching a few reaction videos like yours, is that no one is commenting about the Picture-In-Picture stank face of Grace Kelly in this video (7:19 in yours, top left corner) :)

Check out the Flyers: Nate Smith is one of my favorite drummers, and an incredible musician in his own right. For your own enjoyment, Nate did a concert at Berklee a few years ago for Zildjian that is fantastic, covers a lot of different styles.

There are quite a few videos of them live here on YT. I would say that, except for the absolute craziest vocal runs, they do replicate this stuff live without a sweat - and the same crazy pocket. They've played together for a long time, especially Aron and Henrik.
I don't know that there is a drummer-bassist duo that are more psychically linked, joined at the hip than Henrik and Aron. Just outstanding every single track.

Really great reaction. I've been listening to this multiple times daily since its release and I keep hearing more with those repeats. Loved your expressions throughout. What these musicians are doing one can only hope is make great music accessible to the regular listener. It's all there for the casual to the pro. Definitely next level. I do think Henrik and Aron are the best rhythm section in music right now. Also thought the horns had a real Tower of Power vibe to them.
They are absolutely incredible live. When I saw them they added a synth player to help cover extra parts. One of the best live performances I have ever seen
I think that 4th guy was actually Simon. It was when I saw them about 6 years ago. They run tracks for bgvs and keyboard candy, but Jonah and Simon did the heavy lifting keyboard wise. And then Jonah was able to not stay tied to his keyboard all night as well.
