Ordered my 2022 TRD Off Road Premium in September 2021 at MSRP when dealers were adding $7K or more to vehicles on the lot or arriving. Lots of after-market mods available. Several Cali Raised mods DIY already in addition to Bilstein shocks and Diode Dynamics LED light pods.
Bulletproof 4runner is the 1985 Toyota 4runner SR5 5 speed, sits on 35in tires with 5:29 gearing, everything is new from front to rear, overhauled engine, considering performance upgrades this fall. I found it on Ebay 10 years ago and had it shipped in from a warehouse in California, no rust... it has the SR5 embossed factory installed seats with power windows. altimeter on dash (still works). I would consider this gen BULLETPROOF over the 90's 2000's and today's 4runners.
In 2017, I bought the last model year of the Jeep wrangler JKU, never a problem. I now have a 2023 Four Runner TRD off road, and intend to keep it fer EVA!
I own the first of the Gen 4 (V8 motor) and the last of the Gen 5 and plan on keeping them until they die. If the Gen six is so Awesome (after they get the kinks out) I can always sell one of the others and won't loose much value.
The "bulletproof" is exactly why I'm seriously thinking about trading in my 2014 Trail with only 74K on it for a '23 (or if they make them) a '24 5th gen, just to "reset the clock" on a platform that I love. Yeah, the engine is a little slow off the line compared to all the superduper turbocharged little engines out there now. My F150's Ecoboost leaves my 4Runner in the dust, but personally, I don't need the speed, and will always take reliability over speed and HP. I'd consider a 6th gen, but not for at least the first 2-3 years.
I have a pedal monster that completely fixed the acceleration issue just as fast if not faster than anything ive owned on my 2014 at almost 300kmiles. Take advantage of the aftermarket for the 4runner. Easy fix.
Awesome video bro 🔥 I’ve heard some ugly things about the new tundra’s reliability, curious to see how that power plant does in the next Tacoma and 4Runner
Doesn’t make sense to buy a used 4runner anyway, they go for damn near MSRP and you won’t have to gamble if you’re getting a vehicle that was driven like that
Love this! I just bought a 23 4Runner for all the same reasons!!
These are the exact reasons why I just got it 2023 TRD Pro. Couldn't be happier. Picked it up two weeks ago.
Just drove mine from Alabama to Kentucky. I averaged 22mpg with 4 people, 2 over 200lbs, with a loaded cargo. Also had a loaded cargo tray carrier.
Nice. I have exact… NJ. My third runner and you’ll need to include it in your will! 😂😂. She will treat you well…. Lunar rocks
I have a 22 Tundra and am trading it in for the same 4Runner you’ve got ! Minus the predator package or whatever it is
Fifth Gen T4R is simply the G.O.A.T.
2024 still 5th gen

Will last you 3 generations unlike modern vehicles lasting 3 weeks 😂😂😂

How did you drift it?

Redlining a small displacement turboed out engine for emissions and economy..what could go wrong? Is it really engineering or is it just politics

The first 30 seconds of this video demonstrates why I don’t buy used cars anymore.

That’s why I bought a new one xD
I couldn’t get a new one unfortunately. The wait was too long
I don't do offroad, so I bought a Limited, is that still as good as KDSS ones?
The limited is good. KDSS is nice when off-roading though.
No it's worth buying this one
Let's buy the 5th generation 4runner now because the new 6th generation 4runner power train might be disappointed. Agree or not.
What D rings do you have in the front? U have a link?
They’re the badlands 1/2 inch d rings from harbor freight. I have rubber washer from an off-road shop to keep them from clanking around.
Rust proof it and it should last.
Love the color... your offroad has the amazing KDSS system as you know too... awesome 😅
Annoying music. When you talk cut that music.
You can break a Toyota. But she'll still bring you home.
😢 Music to LOUD 📢
Thanks for the input
Old saying old gold is better than new gold.
Rust proof it and it will last u a lifetime
I recently put an oil based coating on it. Hoping it helps stop dirt from caking too
