It's so interesting hearing people from (I'm assuming) different places in the world and backgrounds Having beliefs about cat whiskers. I've wanted one of my cats whiskers so bad I even THOUGHT (I would NOT actually do it promise) about cutting a piece of his whiskers that had snapped one way but not fallen completely off But I never did because I thought cats whiskers didn't grow back!? I still won't cut cause it's sensitive but now im Glad I can find some on the ground and my silly cat isn't hurting when his whiskers bend somehow lol

OH MY GOODNESS! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! I've been collecting my cat's whiskers since we got him. My dad got me 3 cute little small vases for my birthday last year and a necklace! The necklace was made by a woman who matches the color to your cat's eye, and then she cross hatched mine with some of his whiskers! She sent back the extra and we used the extra + the other whiskers in the vases and it looks super cute.
Maybe one day they’ll be able to clone pets with the genetic information embedded in them. I adopted my cat from the shelter as an adult, and they said that she’d been brought north after one of the major hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast; She’d definitely been in a home and been feral for a time. I often wonder what a different personality she’d have if she was raised from a kitten to adulthood in one home… 🤔

Whether for breeding or resources who knows. But ik damn well the program isn't getting money just to clone pets. They gotta be cloning rare animals too. And make their money off grieving mentally ill costumers so they can fund grotesque experiment's (Mentally ill as in so sad you've gone delusional and will spend a crap top of money to get the dog back. Not tryna be rude I have mental issues too. Takes one to know one lol)
Doing this is perfect for embedding into a ring or getting one of those stuffed personalized animals that looks like your animals because you can put the whiskers in it, i love the dedication btw ❤
Me too, and especially now after one of my cats passed away (was sickly, had a cancerous tumor, and had a seizure so had to be put down the day after) at the beginning of the year (it wasn't the best new year's gift and we all still miss her) and she was only 6 years old. But it's lovely when I'm going through my stuff and find one of her wiskers 🥲 I truly miss her though, she was my sleeping buddy But yeah, I'm glad she didn't have to suffer too long Anyway I'm going to end this before I cry or make anyone else cry 😅 Have a great day y'all and don't forget to tell the ones you love that you love them and give them a hug because you never know how long they'll be around! 😊 ✌️ peace y'all!

Be careful if you walk barefoot, the whiskers are hard and can get embedded in your skin. My youngests, Nova's whiskers are really tough and I normally find them embedded in by foot
@bailey7792 jokes on you, we don't vacuum, we use a broom and hair tends to fly away. The only vacuum we own is for the car and can barely lift up anything.
My mother used to do this. She was going to paint a grand painting, of her 4 kitties, and use some of the shed whiskers in the painting. She thought it would be a very unique and creative way to use the whiskers. She never got to do it, but it's a cool idea.

Crazy cat lady here🐾. I just emptied the vacuum cleaner & pulled out lots of whiskers. Got more to wash from the cat tree shed. Used a serated knife to get the hair off! One day I’ll separate them & put them in tubes like this. Have you seen the book called Hats on Cats? Shows you how to make hats from their fur. I might get use the whiskers like a hat maker would w/ feathers.😊💖
I witnessed a whisker fall from my cat Oreo one time,and I was litteraly having a panic attack. I looked it up and learned that it's normal and that cat whiskers are good luck! I now stash my cats whiskers on my nightstand 3>
My cats have a genetic circle in their family tree (the breeder was sh,t they no longer operate I think they even went to jail for animal abuse) and they have curly hair so their whiskers break very easily and are very short because of that. Since we rescued them from their previous owners one of them has gotten longer whiskers the other one is still wonky. If you get cats from breeders make sure they know what they’re doing and don’t inbreed their cats, that has a lot of health risks. Both my cats are disabled/chronically ill.
