Man, the raging blast 2 animations are so smooth, and the flash of lightning across the screen they do to make your combo's looks stylish is so cool as well.
Yeah I've only played offline. 1: Why can you revenge directly after getting hit by a rush blast? 2: Why didn't they make vanishing like Ultimate Tenkaichi where it gets harder the longer it goes on? 3: Why do my rush attacks just stop sometimes? 4: Why can't I spam the Fortnite emotes? 5: Why did they remove ki charge penalty for instant max power mode? 6: Why are barrage Vegeta's technique blasts so useless that if you get hit you can just mash block to evade the entire rest of the move for no reason? 7: Why add maps like Destroyed Cell Games and clean ToP just to not unlock them?
If any of the Devs see this comment lol the dream patch notes would be: - Super counter 1-2 frame window - Vanish exchanges more difficult to do and cost more ki and you continue - After image strike lasts one 3-5 seconds (ki and stock meter gain penalty after use) - Full Power skill characters get meter gain penalty after use (Sparking skill) - Buff characters with bad/useless skills - Z burst dash costs more meter - Sparking - Z burst dash - into unblockable awakenings adjusted. - Yajirobi costs 3/4 DP - Android 19 & Dr Gero lose Ki when burst dashing - Giants should NOT do damage with Z-burst dash - Revenge counter behaves more consistently - Damage may need to be reduced with super counter/vanish nerfs -- Rebalance DP some bad characters are high DP I think that's everything !
At the end Raging blast 2 still the best skill based db game Of all time. Played it the again for the Last 7 months on ps3 and i was Addicted … a ps3 game.
My biggest issue with SZ is the lack of training options in the game it lacks huge in that department. The map glitches to bad and the most annoying part is the sound when you break someone guard and win, your opponent still makes the sound as your win quote goes off.
Great video. Bro, you will not believe this, but I've genuinely seen someone in YT comments (also got a healthy amount of likes) say the vanish wars are good because they add "chaos". Vanish wars are the most controlled, repetitive, least chaotic mechanics I've ever seen. People will really say anything to defend this game from valid criticism.
I think Vanish wars in the previous games were better, they were faster, had different timings that you could choose depending on which direction you intend to send the opponent and they costed more ki. I think this is infinitely better and more chaotic, and much shorter than SZ’s vanish battles
@@Katisaki Might be. I'll freely admit I was much worse at the old games because I just didn't grasp the mechanics as well as I do in SZ. That being said though, I WISH vanish wars were toned down, it would be so much better.
As a fighting game player wanting to play a dbz game. SUPER casual game, very cheesy, ez mode, scrub freindly. Exceptionally unfun to play when you get to A rank and above. All they need to do is tone down all the things that make it unfun. Defence is braindead, ki blast is stupid in sparking, auto vanish tools are braindead, vanish loop needs to GO ect.
i just gonna copy paste my comment i left under one of dotodoyas video or what his name is. cause im a passionate tenkaichi and raging blast fan as well. this is not so much a look at the competitive aspect of the game, mainly because im not a competitive player, but a look at the game as a whole, which i think is a complete disaster, a 5 out of 10 AT MOST. would like to know what you think about this. this is a bit of a long comment though, and to be honest... it covers about 70% of my issues with the game issue 1: the story mode considering the previous tenkaichi entries, this story mode is a joke. you have a few characters to play some of the story battles with sure, but sooo much is skipped. no dragonball saga, no gt saga, no movie saga (not even the broly movie) and even in the z and super saga, many battles are skipped. examples? sure. with goku, you go from the ressurection F fight, directly to the future trunks saga. no universe 6 tournament fight? or with vegeta. you skip the entire saiyan saga (no goku vs vegeta, no great ape vegeta vs goku, no kid gohan great ape vs vegeta, no goha, krillin and yajirobe vs vegeta) and start with the fight against cui...okay...but then you skip the dodoria and zarbon fights. what? in the zarbon fight was an actual fight after all. in the anime he just straight up blew cui to bits. and there are so much more to list here that are just bizarre decisions issue 2: the presentation of the story when you actually get some cutscenes, they do look nice. but the game has barely any animated cutscenes. most of it is just slideshow images with voice over. acceptable on the ps2 (even though games like budokai and infinite world had fully animated cutscenes, but whatever) but not on the ps5 with 6 years development time and a deluxe edition that costs 120$ issue 3: lack of any game modes the tenkaichi games had a lot of game modes to keep things interesting. for example tenkaichi 3, you had the dragon sim mode, which was pretty unique, a mission mode with 100 missions that get more and more difficult, a survival mode and you can import game modes from tenkaichi 1 and 2 as well. so the game has 5 game modes, and a pretty decent story mode. sparking zero has none... it has a really lackluster story mode and thats about it. issue 4: customization when compared with the customization items of tenkaichi 2, 3 and even raging blast 2. this game is severly lacking. it has a few stat boost capsules sure, but the previous games had so much more. optic customization is also pretty limited, with raging blast 2 offering the same if not some more options there. im not 100% sure about that, but can you even change the aura in sparking zero? i dont think so. also...the best feature of tenkaichi 3... RED POTARA CHARACTERS??? it was so cool to fight with completely broken, overpowered characters against the AI. or try to win a fight against a red potara character issue 5: polish ohhh lord.. this game is the most unpolished dragonball game ever. ive seen it all. T-posing characters, characters being buggy and stuck in the air, moves not registering at all even though i clearly pressed the button, camera clipping through the map constantly, LITERALLY FALLING THROUGH THE MAP. and these issues are still a thing. issue 6: gameplay the game didnt innovate...at all. it actually regressed in many areas. it literally copied the basic gameplay of tenkaichi 3 and said "aight...thats done" and even then, many advanced mechanics of tenkaichi 3 either dont work at all, or not correctly. but the worst part is, tenkaichi 3s gameplay was great...but not perfect. and raging blast 2 fixed a lot of that and improved on a lot of things. for example, giving each character a unique special move to make them stand out, vanishing attacks can be done in 3 directions, each direction changing the timing to counter it, so raging blast 2 doesnt suffer from the issue of constant vanishing until one person runs out of ki. oh and....COMBO CANCELS !!!! that thing alone makes RB2s gameplay a lot more complex than even tenkaichi 3, let alone sparking zero. which is crucial for a fighting game to survive in the long run. as it stands, Sparkings combat is a pretty basic adaption of tenkaichi 3, with next to no depths and complexity, and a lot of issues that have been fixed already, but becuase they were not in tenkaichi 3, sparking doesnt have it either... and to be honest there is so much more i could write here. like the camera, the pop in of textures (in a unreal engine 5 game on ps5...lol) the lack of real split screen except one one map, the lack of many iconic maps (even tenkaichi 3 has much more maps) but im already writing a damn essay... the game is a huge disappointment. a 5 out of 10 AT BEST. it does nothing to innovate or move the series forward, hell...it doesnt even properly copy it. after 17 years of tenkaichi being gone, we deserved the absolute best they could possibly make. instead we got a bunch of leftovers with mold on it, put in the microwave for us to enjoy...geez tldr: the game is poopoo. play tenkaichi 3 instead
These are a lot of things that people overlook just because the game is "fun," and it's another sad example of the game being carried by being a Dragon Ball game. For how long we waited, this should've been EXPONENTIALLY better. Especially the story. Real, I studied of bunch of your bt3 and rb2 videos before the game came out and made it to top 7 Android 17 in the world (doesn’t matter) but what I realized most is that skill doesn’t matter in these kinds of games, at least not anymore smh.
The games unfinished. Developers think better graphics means fuck everything else lol. Story mode and what ifs are mid at best and rushed. Hardly any maps like glacier, hell and Kamis lookout. Over 180 characters yet ppl only use about 5 in ranked. Gameplay is meh people spam perception and instant sparking. Shit sucks I waited almost 20 years for some shit.

Its okay, people complained about raging blast but it has a community of players both casual and competitive. People complained about Xenoverse 2 but it has a community of players both casual and competitive. People complained about FighterZ but it has a community of players both casual and competitive. People are currently complaining about Sparking Zero but thats okay because it to will have its own community of casuals and competitive players. While hardcore players of previous db games may not like Sparking Zero, it will slowly have a community of its own. Sparking Zero is here to stay, whoever doesnt like it will fade away as it's official community is formed just like every other DB game lol
I'm still a big fan boy for the story in SZ right now. Only cuz RB2 story was super ass but I still loved it for all the collectables. And RB2 is my GOAT DBZ game still.

I haven’t practiced it yet but I saw a video saying if you hold up and hit square at the right time it’s better to successfully do the super counter. I’m not to sure why players complain about 4frame button just a button. In street fighter we have 3frame links to do combos 3 frames and we don’t complain. Yeah it’s delayed online and is bad with terrible connection but it’s not impossible. The individual went to the piccolo training to practice it instead of going to training room.

Sparking Zero isn't the first game in a new series. The Budokai Tenkaichi games were called Dragon Ball Z Sparking in Japan. They just decided to forego the English title this time around. It is still very much BT4 in every official sense.
The quality of play is just mainly a$$ in this game, there’s unbalanced then there’s just downright dumb ish in the game. Just because a game gets any patches does not automatically make the game perfectly balanced all of sudden thats not how games work, but things need some touch ups for as casual or “competitive” as people want to play it

Sparking Zero isn't the first game in a new series.
The Budokai Tenkaichi games were called Dragon Ball Z Sparking in Japan. They just decided to forego the English title this time around. It is still very much BT4 in every official sense.
It's unfortunate really.
The quality of play is just mainly a$$ in this game, there’s unbalanced then there’s just downright dumb ish in the game. Just because a game gets any patches does not automatically make the game perfectly balanced all of sudden thats not how games work, but things need some touch ups for as casual or “competitive” as people want to play it
