Nice Coverage Peter. Just a clarification for everyone, this hill climb competition is 300 meters & 50 degrees. That’s why “some” don’t run an air filter, they come to this race with spare engines, transmission, axles, driveshaft, etc just like when you go to a drag race competition everything can happen. Most cars belongs to workshops & some have sponsors. Every workshop/team have to proof himself in this competition & for UAE this race is the most popular (there is drag races, drift, 1/2mile race, etc everything comes to your mind) but sand race is different for us, people come all the way from Oman & Saudi Arabia to this event, there is also straight sand drag. N/A Category most cars run TB48 engine (Nissan Patrol inline 6) and its stroked from 4.8L up to +6.5L (by using a longer stroke crankshaft from 102mm to 130mm & up to 142mm) and running methanol fuel + big camshafts + Nitrous , etc so it makes a lot of power.
