So much of exercise, in fact a massive percentage, is in the mind. If you’re healthy, in relatively a good base shape, get good nutrition and rest, there is no reason why your body cannot achieve maximum effort. Then the reason we don’t is all in your head. Positive mental attitude really is the key.
Maximum effort doesn't require being in good shape, eating healthy, getting plenty of rest or any other such thing. Maximum effort comes from the heart. Nothing else. If you truly want to achieve something, give it your maximum effort regardless of what obstacles may be in the way. We all have it in us.
The 2nd week of "Torcher" in Max/Size almost brought me to tears today. Hell with it, I cry at the gym, I cry at the gym. I have set the bar WAY TOO LOW in my life. "Max/Size" helps me realize this. I'm 57.
Very true Jeff. I was ranked the #1 chess coach in the world by the Internet Chess Club in 2016 and 2017. My main piece of advice to students was to focus on being task-oriented rather than results-oriented. These are the two main types of motivation, but being results-oriented makes it very hard for most people to bounce back from negative results, whereas being task-oriented allows us to always feel productive and good when we complete our tasks (that were intelligently selected) that move us in the direction of success. At the same time, this leads to the maximum amount of effort exerted, leading to the most success.
truth. I tell my athletes to focus on each stroke of every workout, even if that workout includes over 2000 strokes! its the difference between bronze medal and the wood medal #practicelikeyouplay
thank you so much sir. I'm from Iran, I recently met your channel, I can tell your channel is the best on the internet. a year ago I decided to quit smoking cigarettes, I have achieved that goal. I made a promise to myself to workout everyday and I kept my promise since 100 day ago till a week ago, last week I felt a pain in my shoulder area, and for fixing and knowing the cause of the pain I started to research about it on the Internet and I find your videos about posture and how to training it, from one a week ago I stopped my daily workout which was based on an app called homework out, and started to fixing my shoulder based on what you've told on videos, I don't have any weight at home, just a bend and pull up bar, I eat well, my body is ready after fixing my posture to continue workout, I wanted to know which playlist should I watch to get better result for fullbody and legs. once again thank you so much for existing, one day I will get out from this place and meet you personally and will thank you face to face. merry Christmas sir and have wonderful year.
This is perfect in it's timeliness. I've been following your vids and doing what you teach and today I didn't let myself off the hook. If it felt wrong, I stopped and refocused the mind muscle connection. If the weight was too light (happening more and more) I stopped and got the appropriate level of challenge for the exercise. If I started to stop a little short, I mentally said "it's still your mfn set," and kept going. I didn't stop until i was DONE, with maximum effort. And I left that gym wrung out and satisfied. Keep preaching, we're listening.
Yep. Keep it up. You'll get bigger and stronger. In about 3 or 4 months you'll be repping 185 for ten. At 16 you recover pretty fast and playing sports in school is good.
I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I do hardwood floors for a living, 26 years now, started when I was 18 and I am now 46. If I put the effort that I do in to my job into my workouts, I think I will see more games to what I have been seeing. Your point makes sense!!

This video is 100% RIGHT, I workout alone and I need to hold myself accountable for slacking off when I get tired, Thank you so much for posting a wake up call
Start of spring I’m buying this program. I’ve been working out give or take 4-6 days a week. Am I going 100% no, but I am doing the best to my knowledge. I’ve been watching these videos for awhile, either Jeff is one hell of an actor...or he really cares and knowledgeable. I’m going with the second choice. I’m no expert but what he speaks on makes sense...like logical sense. He doesn’t speak on a miracle happening or some pill you can use. It’s all about hard work, effort and dedication. You’ve earned this subscription and my hard earned money.
Jeff has a very unique way of delivery worth noting. A very pleasant mixture of support and "ya f*cking up" type of vibes .. A necessary skill. Well done.
This video helped me straight away. I watch this right before my evening workout. It instantly got me back to a very intense workout. I needed this. This is an old video but I'm commenting in June of the 2020 quarantine. Thanks for all the great tips over the years.
That was pure gold. I will go ahead and say that putting a more conscious effort makes for a psychologically easier workout, in the sense that you are not dragging through the sets, but you are getting them done efficiently and getting out of the gym in less time.
Just started watching this channel last week. I’m nearly thirty and not in shape, but Jeff is a real inspiration for me to work harder on my nutrition and training (not diet and exercise, I love Jeff’s distinction!).
These videos suck you in with something you think you want to learn and then you just end up getting a motivational speech from Jeff. Top quality videos!
I’m by no mean a true athlete, but I train until I laugh and cry at the same time drenched with my own sweat… 6 days a week, plus one active rest. You’re an inspiration, thank you for your content.
That's awesome man! We are ready to give up on ourselves too early, those extra 2 reps or that 30 second mind set during the workout makes a difference. One set/exercise turns into two, three, four, until our workouts are of a higher standard. I love your channel man. How awesome is it that we have someone like you to offer all this free help and to such high quality. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being selfless.
I’m not one to brag or boast. Just being honest here. I’m tapping into this video after about 10 months of some serious training. I had to take it easy starting out, because I was coming back from an injury. I’m so proud of myself, and thankful for the knowledge that Jeff gives out. I’ve done 3 of his programs so far. I’m not doing a program at the moment, but I definitely take that knowledge and mentality with me while doing my own regiment. Everyday I train I really give it everything I have. I hate burpees so much, but I make myself do them every week. A HIIT cardio session. 10 burpees rest 30 seconds repeat that for 15 minutes. Y’all I seriously thought I was gonna die, I was really giving it my everything. It was at about the 12-13 min mark.. and I just snapped. I went from being out of breath, feeling like I was about to pass out. Then my adrenaline kicked in and I was able to regain my breath and I started doing them really fast. The point is. Push yourself. And when you think you’re at your breaking point. Focus on your breathing and keep pushing, give it all you got. You can do a lot more than you think you’re capable of! You’ll thank yourself later! Thanks again Jeff
You really are the best Jeff ... would really like to learn personally from you

He tells you how every time at the end of the video, I did go to athleanx.com and chose my programs, it really feels like the guy is personally training you.
yo wasup jeff I've been following u since the time u had 200k subs. I like what you teach here, all the information, the science behind a good workout n gains. but last year I had an ACL tear n had to undergo its reconstruction surgery ( june). since then I wasn't very confident abt hitting the gym or doing any muscle oriented exercises besides physio. so I didn't watch any of yr videos after then coz I was looking for something which would give me confidence, build up my lost strength n I didn't find that in yr videos. so I would request that u do videos on sports injuries as well as on motivation. peace.
It's about effort (as he says) and atleast how I understand that effort It's about maximum quality = focus+intensity = correct techniques with maximum power while not let either one of those eliminate each other. "Go harder" sounds like a bad technique..
Charlie Alfonso it's an awareness of your efforts. so wherever you are in your Fitness level, you most likely could be doing a little bit better, is what he's saying. He says you can train hard or long but not both.!

Maximum effort doesn't require being in good shape, eating healthy, getting plenty of rest or any other such thing. Maximum effort comes from the heart. Nothing else.
This is great advice for everyone
truth. I tell my athletes to focus on each stroke of every workout, even if that workout includes over 2000 strokes! its the difference between bronze medal and the wood medal #practicelikeyouplay
Good distinction.
Great advice, thank you.
thank you so much sir. I'm from Iran, I recently met your channel, I can tell your channel is the best on the internet. a year ago I decided to quit smoking cigarettes, I have achieved that goal. I made a promise to myself to workout everyday and I kept my promise since 100 day ago till a week ago, last week I felt a pain in my shoulder area, and for fixing and knowing the cause of the pain I started to research about it on the Internet and I find your videos about posture and how to training it, from one a week ago I stopped my daily workout which was based on an app called homework out, and started to fixing my shoulder based on what you've told on videos,
I don't have any weight at home, just a bend and pull up bar, I eat well, my body is ready after fixing my posture to continue workout,
I wanted to know which playlist should I watch to get better result for fullbody and legs.
once again thank you so much for existing,
one day I will get out from this place and meet you personally and will thank you face to face.
merry Christmas sir and have wonderful year.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Trick2G Open up those gates
what is d cane doing here
Lmao wtf
Maximum disrespect requires maximum effort
Trick2G You were the last person I expected to find here, lmao.
My knees would pop out if I tried this.
*MAXIMUM EFFORT*
Since using your tips ive gone down to 150lbs and can bench 185 for 1. You are honestly the best trainer ever❤❤❤
Damn you re pretty strong i weight the same as you but bench 165 keep up the good work!
@Original Savage - Keep working hard. I weigh 155 and bench 225 for 5. At one point I got it for 8 reps.
Now I'm 41. When I was in college I was hitting 255. Not as strong now.
Im 16 btw
Yep. Keep it up. You'll get bigger and stronger. In about 3 or 4 months you'll be repping 185 for ten. At 16 you recover pretty fast and playing sports in school is good.
This is absolute truth. I realized I have to wreck at least one muscle group in a session, put real effort in. Keep progressing.
I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I do hardwood floors for a living, 26 years now, started when I was 18 and I am now 46. If I put the effort that I do in to my job into my workouts, I think I will see more games to what I have been seeing. Your point makes sense!!
3:54 Yes, father

Anthony B *Yes, Jeff Daddy
DM Punk lmfaoooo

Jeff: 'Not good enough!' XD

He literally has hundreds of videos for that
No, watch the old videos.
Saurabh Soni there’s literally unlimited knowledge available at your fingertips. Start learning, it’s a life long process.

The over-50yo brigade agree totally.

This video is 100% RIGHT, I workout alone and I need to hold myself accountable for slacking off when I get tired, Thank you so much for posting a wake up call
Every time he says his name I think he says chef and I imagine him wearing a chef hat
I saw you training Antonio Brown and I was glad when you put him on your TH-cam channel.. and here we go Steelers!!
Joseph G. I seen Antonio at Jeff's on Antonio's Snapchat and I never have been so excited
That is were I saw it too.
Jeff is one inspirational man 👍.
th-cam.com/video/SVOQ41y9TQw/w-d-xo.html
Half an hour before my workout, and I got the best video recommendation TH-cam ever gave me😀
Haha same story here, "whats up guys jeff cavaliere here" is the best motivation 😂
Jeff has a very unique way of delivery worth noting.
A very pleasant mixture of support and "ya f*cking up" type of vibes ..
A necessary skill. Well done.
Probably the only time I’ll ever appreciate some classic clickbait. This channel is great.
This video helped me straight away.
I watch this right before my evening workout. It instantly got me back to a very intense workout. I needed this. This is an old video but I'm commenting in June of the 2020 quarantine. Thanks for all the great tips over the years.

The cut was to hide the fact that Jeff scratched his knee again with his other hand to avoid muscle imbalances.
I do this before I watch every one of your videos...
Faster Fitness wtf man
th-cam.com/video/SVOQ41y9TQw/w-d-xo.html
Street WORKOUT why
:)))))
If Jeff says so..! 💪 #GAAAAAINZ
That was pure gold. I will go ahead and say that putting a more conscious effort makes for a psychologically easier workout, in the sense that you are not dragging through the sets, but you are getting them done efficiently and getting out of the gym in less time.
Every video is a inspiration. Mad respect!
Jesse looks like he has artificial limbs below the knee.
No
Yes
Yes
LMAO :D
That's his genetics. Bet he could never have massive calves. Bet he'll work on em as best he can anyway.
Just started watching this channel last week. I’m nearly thirty and not in shape, but Jeff is a real inspiration for me to work harder on my nutrition and training (not diet and exercise, I love Jeff’s distinction!).
Kind honesty builds strong men.
practice like you play, my main motivation for athletics in high school. it truly worked, I'm a national champion in my discipline!
What is that discipline? Chess? (Jk I'm a top 30 state chess player)
Work hard. Play hard.
No pain, no gain.
LexusTor wow never heard that before
what u gna play with?
No money, no honey
A stitch in time saves nine
Be kind-rewind.
What other cliches?
Fuck hard
That's awesome man! We are ready to give up on ourselves too early, those extra 2 reps or that 30 second mind set during the workout makes a difference. One set/exercise turns into two, three, four, until our workouts are of a higher standard. I love your channel man. How awesome is it that we have someone like you to offer all this free help and to such high quality. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being selfless.
I need a workout for before my workout and another workout for after my workout
Jesse’s beard is magnificent
This is the only TH-camr I trust
And I respect him a lot as a teacher and a great athlete
Dking Fitness support him and yourself by buying his programs. Theyre great
It's a good thing you can order online.
Love the straight talking jive. The kind of inspiration that screams "step up boy, you can do better!".
Jeff, you have no idea how much impact you have on our lives. I live by your words when I'm training!
yo wasup jeff
I've been following u since the time u had 200k subs.
I like what you teach here, all the information, the science behind a good workout n gains. but last year I had an ACL tear n had to undergo its reconstruction surgery ( june). since then I wasn't very confident abt hitting the gym or doing any muscle oriented exercises besides physio. so I didn't watch any of yr videos after then coz I was looking for something which would give me confidence, build up my lost strength n I didn't find that in yr videos.
so I would request that u do videos on sports injuries as well as on motivation.
peace.
So the secret to gains is to go harder, thanks Jeff
It's about effort (as he says) and atleast how I understand that effort It's about maximum quality = focus+intensity = correct techniques with maximum power while not let either one of those eliminate each other. "Go harder" sounds like a bad technique..
Charlie Alfonso it's an awareness of your efforts. so wherever you are in your Fitness level, you most likely could be doing a little bit better, is what he's saying. He says you can train hard or long but not both.!
Jessie straight up killed that 2nd set. This channel is helping me in ways I didn't think were possible.
I always thumbs-up Jeff's video before clip starts (y)
I gave this comment a thumbs up before I read it ;)
Put my best effort into those 1 legged jump squats got it!

In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and egg. Stir together the remaining sugar and cornstarch; then stir them into the egg until smooth. When the milk comes to a boil, drizzle it into the bowl in a thin stream while mixing so that you do not cook the eggs. Return the mixture to the saucepan, and slowly bring to a boil, stirring constantly so the eggs don' t curdle or scorch on the bottom.
When the mixture comes to a boil and thickens, remove from the heat. Stir in the butter and vanilla, mixing until the butter is completely blended in. BIG ZU chutiya*
BIG ZU WTF?
This video alone shows why this guy has over 12M subs. I’ve seen no other fitness TH-cam gurus talk about the depth of things like he does.
Thanks for the inspiration mate!
Sir, you and your team are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thanks so much for putting YOUR ALL into helping us... GOD BLESS!!!
Popped up on my feed this AM, and needed to hear this! Thanks for the videos, Jeff!
1:30 - this happens every single time when Jessie is training with Jeff around, that why he is so scared.
