When I saw your video I thought that the cylinder would freeze completely since it usually requires a lot of sugar to be able to make a slushy drink. Then the soft drinks would not freeze. thanks for the video.
Just a heads up that I realized after the fact that I didn't secure the tanks properly. Those plastic things that get in the way of tank removal and installation are there for a reason. Next batch didn't make as much noise.😂
I just bought the single bowl machine . I was scared of it until I watched your video. Thank You for sharing your video, and how to make a Barq`s root beer slushy ! (my proffered root beer)
I will be using mine at small events… it will only be used during Thursday - Saturday … does this mean I’ll have to preform a cleaning at the end of the day on Saturday & have it prepared to use the following Thursday… Even if I’ll be using 2 liter Coke all the time
I think the answer lies with your county's health department regulations. I know when we did chili contests, we had to provide three sinks (washing, rinsing, sanitizing). For one of these, if you are feeding the public and you want to keep people from getting sick, I'd think you would want to clean it after each use. Possibly need to sanitize and let it dry good so it doesn't mold on you. I don't know how fast bacteria on a room temperature sticky sugar/acid concoction grows. But I personally wouldn't want to find out.
It depends. What's your threshold to use it and not let it collect dust. Tear it apart and wash thoroughly after each use, lest get food contamination, and deal with assembling it. Once you get used to putting it back together, it's not hard. But the first few times can be a PITA.
There isn't a "thickness" level as much as the temperature you want. With soda, it tends to freeze really good around -3 or -4C depending on ambient room temp, starting temp of the liquid, etc. With Strawberry margarita/daiquiri mix we needed it to get more like -6c. I think I had it up to "15" or whatever that number is that you crank up or down that impacts the temperature. Wine slushy will be a challenge since the alcohol in the wine will act as antifreeze. These residential units might not have the cooling capacity. But if you're talking about the number that you can go up/down, I'd take that to double digits and see if you can get them to -6C. It also helps if you chill your liquid before using the machine (why make it do all the work)?
This is EXACTLY what I did for my HOA July 4th party. Hit with the kids. Dads that got dragged along loved it and made all the neighbors less annoying.
There's the buttons for up/down. I think the higher the number like 12 or 15 or whatever makes the machine colder. It's counter intuitive. So if you put your liquid in the fridge so when you put it in the machine, it's gonna be close to 0c. Your machine should be able to get it under 0c. Usually for soda (with sugar, not diet), -3c seems to work (but will take up to an hour if using both tanks or a little faster if only using one tank). But I did margaritas for 4th of July, and that was a learning curve. I didn't put alcohol in the machine, but i put it in each glass. But the mix needed to be colder, like -6c. I cranked my machine up to double digits to get it colder.
I am thinking of getting one for my kitchen,Problem is this thing always making noise or does it shut down and restarts?Think its kinda loud and would be annoying to hear this and watching television at the same time lol.....
Buenas noche, tienes un video de la granizador slush machine modelo XRJ10LX1 por favor tengo una y no se k medisa de azuacar y agua llevas para ase granizado
Yeah, they all are pretty much the same in terms of noise. There is a compressor running as well as that tube in the middle freezing and scraping. It is a pretty fun gadget tho!
very carefully. i have yet to put alcohol in it as I think that increases the degree of difficulty (it's like trying to freeze antifreeze and these things aren't that powerful). But on this machine, you can go "up" or down. The numbers don't mean anything as they don't equate to a temperature. But they kinda do. I believe the higher the number, the longer the compressor stays on and will try to chill your liquid. So with root beer and orange crush, I only had to get the number high enough to get the temp down to -3c or so. It eventually froze to a good slushy. Strawberry margarita/daiquiri mix took longer to chill. I had to get the mix down to -6c and it eventually did good. But that still didn't have alcohol. I put the numbers in the double digits like around 12 or 15 or something. I didn't have time to pre-chill my mix, but i added frozen strawberries that I ran in my Vitamix to puree with some simple syrup. Just a learning experience to try to see what this thing can do.
I don't recall having a fizz. When you go to 7-11 and drink a Coke or Mountain Dew Slurpee, does it still act carbonated? I think the pure nature that you are pouring your pressurized carbonated bottle into a tank that has 1 liter of air headspace gives it plenty of room to lose its carbonation. I think it's just frozen syrup water at that point. Still pretty good.
How did I put it back together? After disassembling and washing the tanks and letting them dry completely, I pushed them onto the back gasket by turning sideways to get past the auger. Then I can turn it right side up. You have to push back and keep the front lifted up a bit as it has to clear the plastic hurdle that is in the way. That 'foot' on the tank must be behind the plastic ridge on the machine. So keeping the front of the tank up will do it. and push hard. turning it sideways may look intuitive, but it will never work that way.
I need a refractometer. We simply poured the Barq's root beer in one tank as is and Orange Crush in the other. There's enough sugar to "freeze" if you get the machine down to -2 to -3c. We did strawberry margaritas for 4th of July this year. THAT was harder. I had to pump the number up to maximum (15?) and it got down to -6c and finally froze after a while. No alcohol either. Just margarita mix, simple syrup and unsweetened frozen strawberries in my Vitamix. Concentrate you can use water works for some people. But lots of arguments on how much water to dilute it with. This might not have been ideal, but it was easy and very tasty.
@@jimmieleal4080 Some of the noise is if you get the temp too low, like -4c or colder with this drink, then it is 'harder'. I didn't secure the tanks as I didn't realize the plastic foot in the front of each tank must be behind the plastic ridge of the machine. I noticed that AFTER the video. So now I know how to secure those. They make less noise.
I put up a video for 4th of July. We did strawberry margaritas. I did not put alcohol in the tank. But the mix and frozen strawberries and simple syrup took much longer to freeze.
Make sure your liquid has sufficient sugar per the manufacturer. Non-diet soda seems to work. Chill your drink in the refrigerator so the machine doesn't have to work so hard chilling it. Set the number up a few digits and monitor the temperature. It will need to be -3c to start freezing. Much colder than that, and the machine will make noise. If using alcohol, then that will require more cooling and you will need to bump the number up to 12 or 15 to get the temp down to -6c and that still might not be cold enough for it to freeze into a slushy.

That thing is fun! I will be interested to see how it handles fruit juice.
Thanks mark. Fruit juice should be fun.

Hi Amy & Eric!!! That sure would be fun at a cookout. The slushies looks tasty. Nice machine. Great Video!!!...🦋
Thank you DiDi. Glad you enjoyed. Thank you for watching. We appreciate it.
the wife tho.... ha shes a whole vibe❤
That looks cool! I would love a Coke Slushy please?❤️
Coming right up. LOL!!! Thank you for watching. We appreciate it.
As someone who loves Sonic Slushies, this may be a wise investment for me.

Have you tried margerita man mixes in that machine ? I does not slush for me ? Soda works fine . Please let me know ?Thank you
Thanks for sharing 🎉
Thanks for watching, LadyTJ4u!
Can you do one with slush mix ???
Did you leave the thickness level at 4 when making this? Im having a hard time making wine slushy consistently. Maybe my mix?

Buenas tardes, tendrá algún vídeo de la máquina de granizado Slush machine, modelo S16-XV1, por favor
I am sorry I don't. I only have this one machine.
You can do one for the kids no alcohol and the other for the adults with alcohol
Very good idea indeed. Thank you. Just hope the kids don't accidentally get the wrong slushie.😜

I'm wondering to put soft serve ice cream mixture, is it works?
Margarita man makes a soft serve ice cream mix you can in it!
I haven't thought of that. As long as it has a certain sugar content 11-18% or whatever the manufacturer wants, then it should work.
Fun but quite expensive for home use.
It is really great if you are planning a party or family reunion! Thanks for watching, Wakibrat!
You will need to add a cup of sugar per 2 litre for better conistency and flow and no clicking
I want one but it sounds waay loud. Not sure if thats just how they all work.
Yeah, they all are pretty much the same in terms of noise. There is a compressor running as well as that tube in the middle freezing and scraping. It is a pretty fun gadget tho!
Part of it was noisy because the tank was lose. I didn't lock it into place so it was bouncing a bit. The compressor is noisy.
How would you do a mix drink

The brix level of soda is low for proper slushy. It’s freezing inconsistently and why they sell concentrate. Brix level needs to be 13-15%
I agree. How did these guys get it to a slushy consistency
I figured that is why it started making noise. It was hard ice pieces in there

A&W/Barq's taste pretty sweet. If they tasted like mouthwash or toothpaste, I don't think it would freeze.
