As a 71 year old previous late model pit mechanic, keep the education of Onayx's to respect fellow racers and do not let him get vindictive to fellow races. do his best and not get like my driver who would take out the competition with wrecking the car that I worked on to get race ready every week . It took a year for me to quit the team from his repeated spoiled loser attitude and keep seeking revenge on his perceived loses as someone else's problem. Keep up the education and a spotman attitude and always seek the extra tenth lap time gains at honing your quest.
I had a driver that wrecked someone the first race I couldn't tell if it was intentional or just a little rubbing but second week when he side slammed a lappedcar into the wall under the flagstand and got black flagged I put the car up in the shed till I found a kid wanting a chance and willing to listen he finished the season got some seattime he learns quick I don't have to give much instruction and in his 3rd year he was in the top 5 several times and only out of the top 10 a handful and 1 was equipment failure a shift fork got jammed up and he only had 3rd gear so restarts killed him but he didn't get mad and fought till the end
8:10 if you would run up front like maybe 1st place I don't think you would get dirt on the camera. Just something to think about. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing your adventures 👍👍👍✌️
Thanks for another great video everyone. It was interesting and enjoyable. Good job onyx and Zach. Both of you raced hard. I feel both of you did very well. Nice driving onyx and dad. Appreciate the filming. Thanks to Randy for all of the cooking. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Onyx man, look at what this past years seat time has done for you!! Your racing with some of the best that have been at it for 20 plus year's!! No need to be disappointed, be proud of where you started and where you're at now, it's incredible to see your progress!! Great job!!!
Everything Zach said at 21:06 about Onyx's run was dead on correct. He's come along way since last spring and it's been fun watching him learn and grow and gain confidence and speed. Onyx has more maturity and better instincts than a lot of other B-mod drivers. Good luck in 2024 Onyx!
Your doing well Onyx and I feel you continue to improve. Your a clean racer and that means a lot. Your going to get a lot of respect from all the fans and other racers.
Well done ZACH and ONYX i can see your confidence is improving ONYX dont be disappointed mate you are doing very well and its just more and more seat time to sharpen your skills as Dad knows only too well. All the best from QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
When you’re competitive it’s hard to not be hard on yourself. I used to race bicycles. Always learned something, didn’t like it, but I used that to be better the next time. Thanks for sharing the content.
I've been waiting for this video, I'm really enjoying this dirt racing content. Thank you for repeatedly updating and explaining what's going on between races. (I can tell your under pressure) I'm no expert, but Onyx was looking real smooth during the side by side action slinging that car through the turns. Be safe out there guys!
Young buck is doing well. All that racing and still going home with a racable car. Keep your head up Onyx, your not going to win if you can't learn to finish. That's a good weekend of racing. Learn to walk before you run son. Trophies will come.
Randy the traveling gourmet chef fed you Turkeys like Kings. Better double his beer rations, so he doesn't run off. Second thought he's wearing Crocs....doubt he'd make it far unless Crocs decides to sponsor a Nascar team. Lol
[ always taught my son who wanted to race in nys microd associato after my experience with sportsmanship give honest feedback on what the cars issues were on that being an gracious learner to learn from his mistakes on track as a learning experience. we wound up 3rd in the state as he learned that hen had gianed the humility that some other team might be better than him./ if you want to win, you will learn from your mistake's always be the humble learner ar to how you go forward in life. again the secret is recording the minute changes to the car and how they result in a tenth or 2 to improving your lap times
Ah stuck behind strand #71 I personally think he and Tyler Peterson are the best at running two cars and do great in both cars you did great for not being in that car before 😊
The way I taught myself to drive was not only by getting beaten race after race but once I learned to pick a target I'd drive like them take there line and do what they do until you get close and I always found that pressuring em they would choke and move out then pick your next target aim at his outside rear wheel and repeat until your aiming at the leader. Man I miss racing 😊
Onyx looks and sounds the best in turn 3and4 much more smooth coming into 1 in my opinion he should just grit his teeth and pound it in there a little farther cut it hard to get it turning then come right back into er just like he was same place at the other end it's all about consistency try to stay right on that line when the track is open if u find yourself either sawing on the wheel or playing with the throttle your loosing time gadda get comfortable with it smooth is fast 😊 man I love these videos it brings me back like you wouldn't believe the kids a good driver I just think he's afraid to spin out or wreck gadda be fearless in dirt racing once that's out of the way u have to be smart and cunning like Zach he's a great driver
I understand onyx is getting older but mate you dont cut off the hand that feeds as we Say in Australia. So as you said Dicking around with youtube pays for things, never ever speak to your dad like that. Boy you wouldn't last 10 seconds in the real world with that attitude. Great job cooking and helping Randy.🇦🇺
so what your saying is Onyx isn't necessarily racing for 1st. but honing his racing fundamentals (I'm so sorry if I spelled his name wrong, please forgive )
I believe my boss hates those racoons as you do as he lost a engine fan on his Case IH 8250 axial flow when a racoon camped out on his combine. DIRTY ANIMALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine what this country would be like if all the time money passion and effort put into racing and football was put into making the country better we wouldn't have all the problems we do nor would we have all these ft people.
Hey onyx if you're going to wreck your car in the race you need to learn to help repair the damage not just stand around and give orders to the guys that are there to help you in the pit crew
Of course Onyx is going to do better than dear old dad and his garden equipment. All dad does is sit at the back of the pack collecting evetyones mud there kicking in his face😂
The late model is around 700 horsepower, while his mod is about 400-450. The late models also run wider tires, more active suspensions, and they're wider and lighter with a full nose on the car so aerodynamics are more important
Just finished reading the comments here. You must be followed by ALL the professional dirt trackers that never finished worst than 1st........ Dont let the assholes detour you from poating videos....... its gonna be nice to one day say. " ive been watching that kid from 2000 miles away. I knew he do it."
Racers should never be happy with their results. The trick is to learn why you're unhappy, and to be better from it. I like that Onyx is disappointed, but it's a hell of a head space to be in always 'losing' in your own mind.
To be honest it really looks like onyx is letting off to soon in the corners and then his throttle control going through the corners sounded a little inconsistent the control in and threw out corners is where it's at. It's a confidents thing gadda have no fear it's a hard thing to learn the only way is having a good setup and knowing that your machine will go where u want it to power is huge if the power isn't there when u want it it's useless unfortunately

Well said!

You tell Onyx for as long as he's been racing big cars. WOW! I hope he reads some of these comments he did incredibly well. Great sportsmanship
That was some DAMN fine racing Onyx!!!!!
8:10 if you would run up front like maybe 1st place I don't think you would get dirt on the camera. Just something to think about. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing your adventures 👍👍👍✌️

This is awesome and memories y’all will remember for ever and can also watch back on.
This is so awesome Dad and Son doing what they love 💪💪💪
“Would ya quit dicking around with the TH-cam” lmao the boy is growing up!
Thanks for letting us ride with you on the car. Looks like a lot of fun!
Your doing well Onyx and I feel you continue to improve. Your a clean racer and that means a lot. Your going to get a lot of respect from all the fans and other racers.

All the best from QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
Onayx did a great job nice ride.
Love these videos. Onyx is out there learning every lap. And he is a clean racer so that will earn him some respect
Onayx is growing up, and learning so much. Enjoying watching him learning to farm and race.
Good Job Onyx. Its called racing not winning, and racing is what you did very well.
"Quit dicking around with youtube"
He's only repeating what he's heard LOL...Just don't ask your dad where the bathroom is!
Good chance you tube is paying for the car. May want to keep it rolling.
@MuskyFarmer this guy gets it 😂
@MuskyFarmer new toterhome
I laughed way too much on that comment 🤣🤣🤣
When you’re competitive it’s hard to not be hard on yourself. I used to race bicycles. Always learned something, didn’t like it, but I used that to be better the next time. Thanks for sharing the content.
Randy’s wife is watching these videos like that son of a gun never cooks at home. 😂😂😂
Tell that boy you have to dick around with TH-cam for all of us that are not there. lol love it

Agree Zach Onyx was Battling...Not so tentative as previous race you last showed. He seems more comfortable in the 73.
Master pipe layer, master chef... LOL!!!
Randy providing, Zach dading, and Onyx learning GOOD TIMES! I was waiting for a Chet reference on the "Ricoon" for dinner lol 〽️😎👍
Onyx you were racing and doing great. I was sitting cheering you on. Proud of you buddy. Zach you were better tonight lets go getem in the race!
Young buck is doing well. All that racing and still going home with a racable car. Keep your head up Onyx, your not going to win if you can't learn to finish. That's a good weekend of racing. Learn to walk before you run son. Trophies will come.
21:15 God damn right Zach! He will learn its all track time the more times he can get himself in that position the better he will be
12:42 to 12:58 was a perfect "That's what she said" moment!! 😅
Randy the traveling gourmet chef fed you Turkeys like Kings. Better double his beer rations, so he doesn't run off. Second thought he's wearing Crocs....doubt he'd make it far unless Crocs decides to sponsor a Nascar team. Lol

I really enjoy these videos Zack and it's really awesome to see you and onayx's have something in common
Onyx is going to be a force to reckon with under your guidance Zach. Much respect between you two
Ahhhh brings back memories of my racing days.. 80% blood, sweat and tears.. 20% most fun you can have with your clothes on.
this video is full of gems!, onyx don't let any keyboard warriors get you down, did better than any of them could do, zack, next time you gottem
19:30 he wants more power! I feel him there it's in the motor
Everyone needs a Randy in their life
You did a great job Onyx.
Good luck Onxy you just alot more seat time. Don't get down on yourself hol d your head up high and keep g oing for it.
Wish you posted more videos. even the small ones. Thats way more better than the same one 3 times? I just love it when we get a new one. Thanks guys!
Appreciate the support!
Onyx is doing great. He's tough on himself but its obvious to see him improving.
Ah stuck behind strand #71 I personally think he and Tyler Peterson are the best at running two cars and do great in both cars you did great for not being in that car before 😊
yeah quit Dickin around with the tube! lol
Yo Crocs are amazing. Get you a pair of camo ones.
Love the camera angle on the late modle
Obviously onyx aint afraid to drive it off into the corner.... Kids gotta good future ahead of him!
love the videos ill allways watch them😁 i love racing
love those videos :)
keep em coming please
Nearing 40? Maybe need racing glasses? Reading the track is everything.
Awesome video Zach. Although i thought if you were driving fast you were to be passing everyone 🙃
🏎🏎🏎
Onayx is mature beyond his age ... good job Dad!!!
Pressure washer on the Radiator! It's not supposed to be Brown!😊 3:53
I agree that as long as Onyx is racing hard he is competing and will get better ! He lookes more aggressive.
You and onyx did a great job
Onyx you were digging every lap. The crew chief needs to work harder now.
The sign of a true driven competitor is one who is never satisfied with a finish other than in the money, preferably first.
I think all you need Zack is a block of wood on your go-fast pedal.
Did onyx just say say dicking around with the you tube@ 2:14😂😂😂😂
His parents don't have filters, neither does he 😂
....TEAM Johnson ❤😊 blessings...
He was just joking around
Nice run
👍
Between the Rows ( and Millennial Farmer).....,👍🤲❤🌈
23rd to 10th is good driving a good car Zach
so what your saying is Onyx isn't necessarily racing for 1st. but honing his racing fundamentals (I'm so sorry if I spelled his name wrong, please forgive )
Onyx did well, he had more bite in the tires than you seemed to.
A lot less power helps lol!
When Onyx tells Zach to quit dicking around on TH-cam to help him push the car 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Omg I died laughing when Onix said would you quit dicking with you tube😂
I believe my boss hates those racoons as you do as he lost a engine fan on his Case IH 8250 axial flow when a racoon camped out on his combine. DIRTY ANIMALS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi 👋
How much harder is race with all the cars compared to qualifying with only few. Track conditions?
Imagine what this country would be like if all the time money passion and effort put into racing and football was put into making the country better we wouldn't have all the problems we do nor would we have all these ft people.
Onyx is becoming a good driver
Good job on your in t😊
❤
Hey onyx if you're going to wreck your car in the race you need to learn to help repair the damage not just stand around and give orders to the guys that are there to help you in the pit crew
Jim, he helps us plenty.
I seen some balls for Crocs like Ramdy's depth guage
Is Randy"s penquin lurking around the pit area ?
Of course Onyx is going to do better than dear old dad and his garden equipment. All dad does is sit at the back of the pack collecting evetyones mud there kicking in his face😂
Someone's gotta do it
So i am a new to drit racing.. what ia the difference between what zach runs verse what onxy runs?
Almost everything
@@kaidenhixson9123 ok so give me the tldr..
The late model is around 700 horsepower, while his mod is about 400-450. The late models also run wider tires, more active suspensions, and they're wider and lighter with a full nose on the car so aerodynamics are more important
@@betweentherowsthanks for the explanation.
What about koala tacos??? Aussie drop bear taco 😂😂😂
well Don Onayx you did well
What happened to the podcast? Great racing video love the content.
We got too busy to continue it but hope to bring it back
Just finished reading the comments here. You must be followed by ALL the professional dirt trackers that never finished worst than 1st........ Dont let the assholes detour you from poating videos....... its gonna be nice to one day say. " ive been watching that kid from 2000 miles away. I knew he do it."
It seems worse than normal today 🤣 appreciate the support!
Those who can do and those who can’t criticize! Keep doing you and ignore the clowns!
Hey is this the real family of the Millennial Farmer or is this also just the actor 😂
It's the actor when the helmet is off, when he's in the car it's the stunt double
Beaver tacos are the best, just saying
Agreed 🤣
Ditto on the racoon's!!!! CAN'T STAND THEM.
Racers should never be happy with their results. The trick is to learn why you're unhappy, and to be better from it. I like that Onyx is disappointed, but it's a hell of a head space to be in always 'losing' in your own mind.
I would like to hear what Grandpa has to say about how well Onyx is doing.
You can tell he's proud!
Looks someone needs more seat in the late model been out of car too long.
Soooo when does the 73 go back to racing late models full time???
Whzt brand chassis is the late modle
To be honest it really looks like onyx is letting off to soon in the corners and then his throttle control going through the corners sounded a little inconsistent the control in and threw out corners is where it's at. It's a confidents thing gadda have no fear it's a hard thing to learn the only way is having a good setup and knowing that your machine will go where u want it to power is huge if the power isn't there when u want it it's useless unfortunately
Strange you don’t get enough going around in circles farming.
