In this webinar, we will cover what Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) are and discuss the similarities and differences between the three FDA-approved types of MOUD. We will also provide a brief review of historical and current stigma associated with MOUD, as well as recommendations on how recovery residences can embrace shifts to use patient-centered and compassionate language when embracing individualized approaches to care and supporting the inclusion of MOUD patients. Additionally, we will discuss MOUD patient rights and how they are connected to existing state and federal regulations including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, and Washington Law Against Discrimination (WLAD). Finally, we hope to provide some actionable ideas for how recovery residences can review and integrate relevant policy and procedures updates, to be more inclusive of MOUD patients who will be accessing their programs.
