@@deucetwos I haven't witnessed LA in those times in person, it's just something that reminds me of that decade, when people were more conscious about there being "no future".
LA was always more sunny than NY so I don't think there ever was as many dumpsters lit on fire on the streets.
Then came the 90s and US was on the top of the world and life was just about having fun, problems didn't disappear but were covered by colors & noise and people again had some hope. That was such a beautiful lie that some still cling to it.

I feel like Los Angeles and NYC have a lot of similarities in this regard. Parts of each city are filled with glitz and glamour and home to the wealthiest and most influential people, yet have these dark poverty ridden areas a stones throw away that most people don't like to talk or even think about. I guess thats true in most major cities, it just seems more jarring when the city has a higher GDP than most countries.

It’s a contrast in value systems. I grew up in the Bronx and there were kids who lived on burnt out blocks who got scholarships to Ivy League schools. The difference in value systems produce these results . There is a lot of economic and educational opportunity in LA if you are born to good parents who impart good values to you. Same with most cities . The gang thing is the most evil, they want to see everyone fail like they did. This is a hell realm . The best thing these people can do is never have children and stop the cycle, but they won’t. Their kids will most likely be just like them.

East New York (once) and South Bronx (again) -- BAAAAD places to be. But not EVERYWHERE is like that.
We know it's not ALL of a city that gets to be this way, but the fact that it's happening to this degree is what's so chilling. These people are ZOMBIES. They're gone. They're already practically dead.
They CHOSE this. That's the disturbing part.

But wouldn't you agree that that the problem? I'm referring to the "social programs" and assistance that they receive? This as a problem that can ONLY happen in 1st world countries. I visit several 3rd world coutries every year and you don't see this crap, so what's the difference? The difference is that the vast majority (not all of course) of homeless people here in U.S cities are just catching a free ride, a lot of them eat three meals a day, have a place to sleep and don't have to worry about tomorrow. Now, in 3rd world countries if you want that life-style... you'll simply die because no one will help you, you have work or do something to make ends meet or nobody is going to take care of you, reason why you don't see this in those places. I know several people that come from abroad and with or without documents they find a job the very first day, something that's impossible in their own countries.

The government system put in place to serve us get so much tax money from every place it can and is looking for more. The only job government is supposed to do is to enforce the law. The government has pummeked us with permits penalties permissions and Punishment. 15% of our income is more than enough to pay for a government system that serves the people. We pay well over half of our income in tax to A system that is easily three times the size it needs to be. What do we need in government a good military a good police someone to fix the streets of plumbing and the electricity that's really about it. Maybe people choose to be homeless but taxation being half and 3/4 of people's income is disgusting and Ludacris. Government should be reduced by 2/3 just for starters just to see how much more should go. The people of this country are the kings and queens and the government is only in place to serve the kings and queens. The government will not take out the corrupt Federal Reserve System which is why we are broke paying 30% of our paychecks and paying interest on the debt of money that never existed to a cartel that is not part of the government of this country they are privately held Corporation and have never been audited. The IRS is set up only to collect the money for the corrupt Federal Reserve System and the government will not take them down in fact the government supports them and tries to make us think that they are legal. They are a satanic group these are the people that run the world that own the banks and begin and end War because they say it's good for commerce. Our government should close the border and take down the Federal Reserve system. Our military should be used to take out these corrupt people they know where they are it would take a couple weeks to get rid of most of the people that are Sinister and evil in this world and no one will do it barely anyone will even talk about it. Our world is going down the tubes by itself with no one to come along and fix it no superheroes and all are easy third grade mentality repairs close the border fill the tunnels under the border and dissolve the Federal Reserve System. If you government people don't want to do that you should quit your job and go home
