acola is going to grow grey hairs when he enters his 20s, cause the dude had to clutch out 4 consecutive game 5 sets in a row (including one earlier in the bracket against Masashi's Cloud) to make it to grand finals. That would've had me stressed out of my mind, but the dude is clutch beyond belief.
@@stealthgamer4620nah you can’t even say character aside when its Steve. I remember when he made a comeback game 5 against akakisusu the hero and he only hit him 4 times and robbed the final stock
@@Jumogas I will say a lot of his close brackets, he looks like he’s gonna lose cleanly, but then he just wakes up after 1 loss set and destroys the rest of the sets, or comes back. Basically referring to like Miya and Hurt type sets. There are a handful of players who’ve overcome his insane odds like Asimo in a GF match, idr if Shuton did. (Who did Shuton beat to place 1st at a supermajor/major event?)
Something I only noticed after both Maesuma and LMBM this weekend is just how much better Acola’s Steve is compared to everyone else. In LMBM, I saw countless Steve players in top 128. Hell, one of them even made it to top 8. But none of them really seem to compare to how good Acola is with the character. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Steve just as much as the next person, but I think it’s worth showing how even though there are so many Steve players that are probably carried, there is a clear player who is the best at him. (I genuinely do wonder just how much some players would struggle if Steve were to be banned lol)
If you haven’t, watch the Steve ditto between Onin and Acola when Onin was considered 2nd best Steve. That will tell you all you need to know about how far the gap is between him and the other Steve’s. Pretty sure Onin started picking random characters at one point lol
I will say Acola and Doramigi are the only 2 best players of their detestable characters that make them look interesting. Like you actually have to analyze what they are doing. Miya/G&W might be up there but I feel like we don’t see it enough for it to be okay, at least he’s not a 1 touch character like Luigi. Kazuya at top level is slightly enjoyable. The way Raki had mixups was pretty nice.
@ That’s why I don’t mind watching him-he’s not someone I will willingly watch though. I actually think Doramigi displays why Min Min is actually a cool character. It’s also funny, how Up Tilt has a reflector and it kind of counters Steve Down Air 😂 I watched that in that actual match and it killed, no clue if it was intentional or not.

not as fast as sonix with all the second places
Acola for sure one of the biggest and best comeback players, character aside.

Doramigi really had to play 5 sets of Steve in a row in top 8
I love watching these videos. They let me keep up with the smash scene while being very entertaining
Steve, Min Min, Steve, Steve with a Kazuya secondary….

3:05 I will pull you up on pronunciation: Apparently, mzk's tag is pronounced 'Mizuki'.
Adding in that Crete’s tag is pronounced “Crate”.

Doramigi is shockingly aggressive with Minmin especially his edgeguards

Was routing for alice the whole tournament, and he barely used kazuya too.
no he actually used a lot of kaz that tourney it's just that majors somehow barely report sets for some reason 💀
