He was gunned down by a sniper and left to bleed out on his porch on the day Ricans celebrate "El Grito de Lares" , a short lived independance against Spanish imperialism. His killing on that day delivered a clear message by the US gov. towards anyone who wants independance and is willing to fight for it.

The whole independent movement is a joke in my opinion. On the island it's mainly supported by old people who grew up in areas without a lot of education and It's more of a scapegoat than a true movement.

So in your world view even the founding fathers of America weren’t patriots against the stronger power of Britain. I have read and watched about how the Black Panthers came to be and what they did as in patrol the streets. The main guy of the panthers fled the United States when the DOJ issued a indictment for him. If I understand it clearly he has yet to ever return to the U.S. assuming he is still alive some where? That’s been a long time ago so I am not sure what his age is today and may have passed away.

TBLE To help you out and speak like adults in a conversation which some people seem to struggle with being childish, rude comments and lazy. Fred Hampton was a Panther leader in Chicago, he was killed during a joint raid of police with the FBI in his apartment with another Panther. The guy you mentioned that fled the country I can not recall his name but he was a Panther who did leave the country before authorities caught up to him. That did happen I just can not remember his name right off hand. As far as I know you are right he did never return to the states. Fred was a young man when he died so I would imagine the other guy was around Fred’s age. I am not certain on the rest of the story regarding the guy that left the country.

Griffith Valentino So what was the last four REFERENDUM! held for every 8 years 🤔???thats if you even know what that means...you need to be educated the U.S ask PR to choose it’s destiny at each one of these referendums weather to main current commonwealth status, independence or statehood.the first referendum I think was in the 70s they choose to remain a commonwealth the last one in 2012 they choose to be a state but PR refuse to switch to full English which was required,so the US couldn’t grant them statehood never have PR Choose independence at these referendum the next one will be held in November 2020 you should tune in u seem very uneducated

Griffith Valentino so hold on I’m confuse you clearly stated in your first comment that it was the U.S not giving PR a chance for independence now your paintings the picture that it’s the local PR government the reason for all these controversies for their future dude you clearly don’t know who to point the finger at ...go to sleep 😴 and the next thing if the Puerto Rican feels like it’s going to destroy their culture like Hawaii there will be a option for independence come November you’ll see, like I told you in my first reply comment

Only Boricuas could free Boriken. Boricuas can’t vote our way out of being a US colony, because democracy was never used to colonize us. The US militarily invaded us 125 years ago in order to colonize us. Today, 2 thirds of Boricuas have emigrated from our national territory, and those who have not, live in poverty. Does that look like the US is the champion of democracy? Today, 38 million Americans live in poverty, while the People’s Republic of China has eradicated her poverty since 2020, despite having 4 times the US’ population! Today, only 40% of US citizens are satisfied with our government, while more than 90% of Chinese are satisfied with theirs. China, therefore, is the real champion of democracy! And with 8 of the 10 richest men in the world being US citizens, we can say, with all certainty, that the US is the champion of plutocracy! You can’t have a democracy when oligarchs govern the US.
