I wouldn't say spiritually depressed because I respect depression as such a serious affliction and I do not believe my emotions to have been on that level, but maybe close to it. Spiritually dry or lackluster rather, though emptiness is very apt to describe the sensation too. For a long while now. It all just feels so hard, and like all spiritual engagements whether prayer, church or cell groups are like fighting a brick wall. And I find myself thinking back a few years when it all felt easy and just flowed naturally and you wonder where it went wrong. I don't typically find any youtube video timely, but this one might just be.

Generally, in my opinion. Discontent would probably be more of an unhappiness while emptiness would be more of aimlessness/feeling lost. But the principles outlined in the video probably apply either way
If you're thankful you are single, why would you be emotionally empty? A call to biblical singleness is marked by contentment and happiness about singleness as Paul was in 1 Corinthians 7. If you are glad you are single because you are wounded and hurt from a past relationship, that is different and a sign you need healing before you try to date again. If you just want to be single for healthy reasons, then that is biblical and God will not force you to marry. Marriage is for those who want it, not a command to all Christians :)
He doesn't violate your free will. You can feel anyway you want to feel. He won't override that. If you want to be empty, I feel compassion for you. You must have a lot of pain.

What happens if you dont want God to end your emotional emptiness? What happens if you're thankful for your singleness? Can or will God override that?
