I've never had this happened to me before, but I'm a big movie lover. Recently I had this strong conviction to stop watching horror movies. Or movies that revolve around violenece being the main plot of the film. Games are also included.
That seems like the Holy Spirit speaking to you as that would align with biblical wisdom to avoid worldliness and darkness! God bless!
Same exact thing happened to me. Even with music. God has opened my eyes about how wicked the music industry is as well as Hollywood. So much He revealed to me that I was oblivious about. I am still learning and will continue to pray for His knowledge about the things that I have been spiritually blind to.

Me too. I was a horror movie and rock music fan all my life and at the age of 49 (3 years ago) I came to Jesus. The first thing the Holy Spirit showed me was how wicked, sadistic and inappropriate violent and occult horror movies really are. I stopped watching them almost immediately. Now, I can see them for what they are - dark and satanic and not edifying for the soul at all. Same goes for a lot of rock music, Hollywood products, violent video games etc.
Jesus said, "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters".
(Matthew 6:22-24)
I’m proud of you, my brother consistently watching war and action movies and he’s so angry and aggressive.
Look up mirror neurons I think Joe Rogan has a bit on it.
When my wife left me the Lord spoke to me in 3’s, one was my internal voice the second was a picture hanging in my parents hallway at their house and the 3rd was a huge sign at a church when I got lost in a part of town I hardly go to. The verse was psalm 46:10

Yes this has happened to me with dozens of hurtful people when I've got a gut instinct about the situation.
God protects me through the situation so there's nothing to worry about
A word or sign from God will glorify God, direct you back to God, give you a peace and not a fear, will not feel urgent as if you will lose out if you don't act quickly, will humble you rather than build your pride, will give you rest if you will trust and rest in it, and all these will persist over time--a false word will wain. God's word does not fail and needs nothing to be sustained (except faith in God), but a word not of God will need constant maintenance. But do not put your faith in what God will do, but in God regardless.
You are right Mark if they bring it to him he certainly does have something to say about it. He always has something to say when I question things that he hasn't done yet.
How awesome, my devotional this morning was also about listening to God.
Sometimes god is silent. Then I remember the teacher is always silent during a test.
My experiences:
Feeling at peace in a place inside that is not connected with my logical mind.
Suddenly thinking about certain scripture for no reason that I wouldn't have memorised
Dreams and topics spoken with various people that all connect in a very short space of time as if the same short idea is being repeated many times and those people have no idea about my situation or are connected with each other.
Praying about something and immediately remembering a series of seemingly disconnected scripture that comes together to form an answer which is then confirmed through the above
Thoughts that come into my mind which align with the nature of God
The first time I heard God speak to me I was crying & praying about my abusive ex. I heard Him say “5 years” & “he’s not the man for you.” I was like whatttt 😮 he split up pretty much right after our 5 year anniversary. Deep down I knew he wasn’t the man for me & I remembered the 5 year thing a few times before it happened but until it happened I didn’t believe it was truly Him but it was!

I didn't hear from anybody. I know it was God that told me to reach out to this person. I felt it deep within. That I feel his pain in knowing he wanted to know the truth as to why we are hear and what it is all about.

The problem I have is the feeling that I am going lose the fight I have been dragged into due to something stupid and so far out of a belief it will be my breaking point because I was nothing but a means to an end to be discarded at the end the whole time.
I want to believe that there is a reward in the end for the misery I have endured for the last two years, but things are already at the point where there is no worldly reward that will ever justify the many senseless losses I have had to deal with along the way. I want to be wrong, but my gut says I will lose and it will be bad because I have had enough of being screwed over.
I get those feelings . Usually right.

Do not Know , But i was in a Kingdom hall meeting years back and the Words Save yourself and to shout it out was so strong. I did not do it, But i was like who need to Save themself? I do not Get these things. I Tried to leave a spesific person in that congregation many times since 2015. Nice does not mean it is right. But when I started to Get sick from listening to What They say and teach then that is not truth to me. I did not notice anything in the beginning and They can impress. Now I just blocked her without any warning.
Thank you, Pastor Mark for this video. It confirmed to me that God spoke to me in a very special way through a woman I'd met, and I'd like to share this with whoever is reading these comments.
For whatever reason, God seems to speak to me through beautiful women. I guess that's why I'm so tempted by beautiful women too. lol
Back in August of last year, as I was beginning to get back into church ministry, I met a woman through music ministry. She is an insanely amazing triple threat- musician, dancer, actress. We became fast friends and from the first day we met, I had this unshakeable feeling that she was actually brought into my life by God to change the course of my life, and be some sort of positive force by spending time with each other; the *internal positive word.*
After not seeing each other after a month because of work and ministry, I wanted to see her at her gigs, so we attended open mic nights and continued to get to know each other, and we developed a deeper friendship quickly... maybe a little too quick, but that's besides the point I wanted to share. We continued to text and spend time with each other and even went on dates, but I never told her that I was looking for ways to boost my income. I had some money saved and budgeted pretty well so I had extra cash to treat her to dinners and go on outings, could even be considered dates, as well as purchasing studio time so we could work on a music project for my brother. We were having fun with music, having great conversations, were vulnerable with each other, and things were going quite well. In our dealings with each other, we experienced a lot of healing from past heartbreaks and I know that I began to think more maturely than I ever have because I was actually starting to consider what it would be like to have a Godly, Christian relationship... and with her. But I knew we both were sort of holding back a bit because we weren't ready for that step after only a few months of knowing each other... I had just settled into full-time work but looking for more income/the next echelon of my career, and she was also busy trying to grow her career, wherever that was going to take her.
She calls me up one day and asks me if I would be able to take over for her music ministry at her parish since she was going to vacation with her family down in tropical paradise. Of course I said yes, and since she at first said she'd be back, so I was thinking it was just for a couple of months. Turns out, when she came back to our city with her family for a funeral, she had chosen to stay with them long-term, out of our city and she'd be leaving a week after the funeral. Effectively, that ministry was no longer temporary, but long-term for me, and I could have it as long as I needed it (and the pay ain't bad for an our of singing per week!)
It's been helping me save more money and is helping me toward my financial goals of paying of debts and saving for the future. And because of how busy everything is, we haven't talked or texted much since she was last in my city. Not only did this open me up to her ministry, but it also opened me up to taking on another ministry at the university church I used to attend as a student and as a music minister before the pandemic.
All of this was the *external evidence* that God was speaking to me using a language that I could understand most easily: a beautiful woman who is as/more creative artistic than me who is as committed to faith, mental health, and openness to God's surprises.
However, her leaving our city to grow her career and spend time with her family was also God speaking to me about my feelings for her, saying either, "No, not yet," or "No, not her."
I don't know if this is the end of God's purpose for her in my life. While I hope that there could be something more in the future when we are more ready and open to a Godly Christian relationship that may lead to marriage, if this was the role and purpose God used her for, I'm eternally grateful to him and to this woman. My thought though, if she's not the One, how much more awesome is the true One going to be?

For a while now I’ve literally been taking steps towards many directions in multiple areas of my life yet I neither get a yes or no, not even a not now. Just seems like silence from God.
My rationale says if I’ve taken steps but nothing is happening then maybe this is where God currently wants me. But where I currently am I just feel pretty stuck and going no where. 🤷🏻♂️
I was in a long distance relationship two years ago with a lady who turned out to be a covert sociopathic who kept ghosting me so i asked God to help me with situation with her then a friend who i had not heard from in a while contacts me out of the blue asking me if i was still courting this lady so i told him yes and he had seen her on a dating sight cheating on me so i feel that God was protecting me by getting my mate to let me know what he seen so i thanked him then cut ties with her...
I only just got a warning after 15 years of marriage in my dreams. No solution was given. Just a warning that I was going to be very unhappy in the future. I also got a warning I’d be homeschooling and it wasn’t a Happy declaration. My youngest is in public school now and I have two more years left to homeschool my oldest. Most Christian men expect premarital sex, my best friend was dating a guy in our church called The Way International and we all worked as employees for the church and he didn’t want to ask her to marry him until she had sex with him. She wasn’t his first but he was her first. She cried and was very stressed the next day wondering if he was going to stay with her. In my church waiting isn’t encouraged and it’s the don’t ask don’t tell standards. Men cheat and women must submit.
It sounds like you need to find another church.
When i look at the clock a few times it says 9:33 I don’t know if it because there’s a radio station 93.3 I love listening to. I thought it as something seeing that number pop up several of times.
Do you think it's possible to "hear" God like in your mind? Telepathically, for lack of a better word?
The problem I have is not with God making changes to my life. It's with doing the action without first buffering the fallout from leaving the old situation behind and transitioning into the new one.
Rather like a surgeon starting the cutting before applying the anesthesia every single time. It doesn't matter that they may be the best doctor that ever existed. It's the fact that they can't be bothered to numb up/knock out the patient before going nuts with the cutting. They get to it but always well after they have already carved the patient up like a turkey.
I recently prayed to god about wanting to experience hearing him. That same night I had a dream that I quickly woke up and told the person next to me “call my phone number” they were calling my actual cell number but when I woke up I was confused as to why the person in my dream was calling my cellphone when I meant for them to find the bible …. Could that be god talking to me?

what if you thought you heard God's voice and asked for confirmation but did not really get an obvious one. you go ahead to do said task but are now confused because you no doubt it was God's voice? what do you do?
Internal quiet voice, inner ear, and the wild one, outer ear as if He were standing next to me. It was to tell me no about a girl I wanted to date. It was a very strict, no. I heeded it. Sad, that He had to talk out loud to warn me of a girl instead of something more holy. Shame on me.

God doesn't "speak" to you.
He shows himself to you and in doing so communicates through himself. Through the vision of him you understand what he wishes you to!
Some people have audibly heard Gods voice
He can and does speak.
Be very careful of visions - even Satan appears as an angel of light.

What about repetitive dreams? I have dream repeating from time to time. I got married to a man much older than me but with higher status and wealth. My mother and sister support this marriage. In some dreams i marrym in some i reject marriage because of fear.
Please if someone has gift to read dreams. Could you help me interpret it? Thank you.
My advice: pray to Jesus for discernment, if the dreaming vanishes it is from the evil one. If stay it is from the most High
