    I remember going to the theatre to see this with my Dad when it first came out and his eyes lit up when this scene came on. He explained that the Pearl was his generation's version of Allen Iverson.

    I love this scene. Brings a tear to my eye, the passion and love for the game Jake has. The strings, the clips, Coney Island. You can see Jesus beginning to soften towards his father, the shared bond they have for basketball. And the way Jake hugs him after (after this clip ends) 😢

    He was right about the knicks putting the shackles on him!! He had to tone his game down to fit in to the knicks system and it ended up working for all of them- got that second title in73.

    @jaygreg50 I've watched this movie so many times. Right after this is where he tells Ray, why he's REALLY there, to get him to play for Big state university. Not to mention that he murdered his mother. This movie has so much texture and detail, you need to watch it several times to get the beauty of it. I absolutely love this movie.
