Probably the most intelligent NBA player off the court too. He was a strait A student in college. 20 years ago I remember seeing him on public tv and he was talking about European and African history and Shakespeare too.
The first time I saw Earl play on TV in 70 or so he had the ball along the side of the court and a defender ran up and blocked his path. He barely slowed down and spun around that guy so smoothly. I was mesmerized by that. I had never seen that done. He left a lot of defenders shaking their head
