I will be grinding the factory one to see how thick the end is. We talked about it i just didnt feel like getting brake fluid all over the place yesterday lol
When you put that hole saw up there as a template, I'm over here giving advice..."flip it over... use the other side...dude, turn it around" then you said this side probably works better..."atta boy!"😂 Great video. Love the content!! 👍
A little trick with the swag press brake is to get different sizes of angle iron to get your bends tighter. A lot of guys have 4-6 different sizes, you just stack em on top of each other.
I seen that in another guys post ! I was going to go through my stack of random metal and see if I had any laying around. Thanks man. Its a good attachment to have for sure.
Loved the little switch panel from a license plate. I bet if you did a couple bead rolls along the left and right side, it would stiffen the whole panel up quite a bit more (not that it seems too flimsy like you mentioned in the video). Keep up the great work!
I'm with you on the switches. The new hand held boxes are neat, but old school switch and extension is where it's at. Have them in my ranger and putting them in my suburban build.
My dad did a crown Victoria front clip on his bump side ford and had braking issues. He ended up calling wilwood to get the correct conversion master cylinder for the crown Vic brakes. I think he needed a proportioning valve because he has Torino rear discs. Point is, give them the information they need and see what they can work out for you. Stroke, cylinder diameter etc will need to be known.
My buddy james dad did the same thing with his torino went with the wildwood stuff. I'll have a bunch of phone calls this week to figure this out. Thanks man !
I been talkin to you for a minute now i wish you'd listen lol but take the booster off completyly and go old school manual breakes it will save a lot of headake
Look into a booster delete kit I know some companies make them, we used them in the Honda show cars to wire wire them and clean up the engine bays I know it’s a low rider now lol unless you’ll be driving it daily
Your switch panel is Badass, dude! On the booster, is it possible to create a pocket on the firewall side so that the mounting flange of the booster recesses into the firewall?
@elexisaldaco9082 I came accross a lot of wilwood masters last night I haven't found any that are short enough yet. Hopefully if I call them they might have something I can use
Do the solenoids use 12v on the coil side to switch the larger voltages like a relay or a Ford starter solenoid? If so, could you run the switches offf of 12 volts in the car and run less risk of burning up switches?
With these setups, they are normal starter solenoids. But you're also running 3- 6 in a line, all hooked together, so you'd be running 24v to them to make sure there's enough power between all of them to make sure they all open. After editing, i realized I said it weird. I meant to say there was just a higher chance of burning stuff up because of the power going through everything to power the pumps, not the power triggering the solenoids them selves. Normally, my cars I run 48 volts to the pumps and 24v to the solenoids, but in this case I'll be running a much higher voltage to the front.
Do they still make side port cylinders in a 6"? Im not sure if that the answer or not, but may be worth looking into. Buld is looking great brother. My 98 is going under the knife soon, these videos are giving me motivation.
Yeah i didn't even think of side ports. I had a set on my grandmarquis back in the day. If I can't find a shorter master cylinder I'll definitely look into that. Awesome what's the plan for the truck ?
@Virginiaisforlowriders I just got my batteries in, waiting on a few more parts. I'm doing a laynplay with a mono leaf like a 90s setup. It's a 98 so I have upper and lowers so it's a little easier then a I beam setup. I'm thinking no coils in the back, just accumulators in rear. Im still working it out. But soon. I miss hitting switches so bad
Black magic has fat side ports, I was just looking, not sure if that would work. I don't remember who else makes them. But a small booster will probably be the better answer to the problem. Can't wait to see what you come up with, I love that truck.
I fully intended on doing a mono leaf setup and keeping this much simpler. That just snowballed super fast lol. I've build 5 cars / trucks with no coils and just cylinders with accumulators . That's the way the rear of my caprice it. It rides better then factory.
What if you either change it to manual breaks or just beat the fire wall in a little bit and just keep the hood closed a manual chevy master will stop that lil truck they make so many options
Yeah. We tossed around a lot of ideas very similar to those. I think manual brakes is my last easiest option. Before I go those routes a smaller master would be the easiest route for now. I have some experimenting to do. Thanks man.
I know i talk alot on the videos i watch butI'm just like you i use licens plates for a lot of just kinda sheet metal i used one to make a 2 din radio besiel for my lexus with an amp and fog light bar switches
Oo no your fine man I don't mind at all. And they are one of those things I feel bad just tossing them in the trash when it's good material for something else.
@Virginiaisforlowriders I really like this channle and would love to contribute more of some ideas if possable I'm not able to do much of this stuff anymore. Having a heart attack and a few years back I had cancer I like to build through suggestions lol
Yes sir. Always glad to lend a hand well I really would if I came up there but I live in Southeast Tennessee may have to make a trip one day I got some vacation time coming up heck ya man if not I'll still set here and talk to my phoneb
You better than me cause at the 8 minute mark im taking a flap disc to the end of that master cylinder for clearances 😂😂😂😂

Sundays don’t come fast enough. Great job Crawford!!
@jesseray2535 thanks man ! This one took almost 2 hours to upload for some reason
I look forward on Sundays to watch progress on the ranger and all the other past projects . Grab a couple Brewskis kick back and enjoy!
I appreciate the support man.

Haha thanks man. It was a long day lol.
I like when Sunday is roll around I get to watch your videos
I appreciate the support buddy
Like your switch holder that awesome your template making is very cool thank you for opening my eyes 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you !
Love the sound the box chevy produces
It sounds pretty good for an old worn out 305. Thanks man !
Good progress. Cool switch plate, great idea. Looking forward to seeing more of this truck
Thanks for the support man
Another rad update on the lil hopper. I'm interested in the switch setup with different voltages can't wait to learn more & watch you weld more 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤙
I appreciate it man. Once you see it all laid out it will make sense .
Love watching your quality of work. Don’t forget to drop the welding video💪
@dreamgarage9214 I appreciate it man. I have a few non truck videos coming soon that I'm working on.

So much smaller is what she said. Lol. Great video.
@@KentuckyTheMiniTruckState 😆😆 thanks man
Custom problems come with custom fixes. Gotta love it.
@@kirkoglesby6175 It's all part of the fun!
An you know this man! If it were easy, everyone would do it, brother.

Ive made a few with a hemmed edge and it added a lot to it. I've never tried bead rolling them that's a good idea. Thanks man !

Something about an actual click of a switch rather then a little Button off of a TV remote feels so much better lol
@@Virginiaisforlowriders agreed!

The old square Broncos used a setup that angled to the side.
Yeab i looked at those also but I think that bracket would put the master cylinder into the fender
hey bro looking so far but tht stupid master cylinder is always a pain lol but good video peace
Thanks man !

They made the truck in a manual brake version I was going to use that as my last resort. Thanks man !

That is a possibility . I'm going to test some other ideas before I go that far . Thanks for the idea man !
Smaller angle iron in press will result in tighter bend vs rounder bend ya got
I did read that online I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for the tip man !
Look into wilwood master cylinder

A side port with a 45 will angle the hoses down and would give it a clean look as well

Maybe a manual brake conversion?
Ive been looking into it they sell the manual brake parts for this truck since that was an option back in the day
