    Oceanic Fabs really need to get their website up and running, it looks like they make great boats but for those of us on the other side of the country being able to see their work online might make a few sales.

      When it comes to building your own custom boat is you have total control over the set up and layout of your boat. I take all of my previous boats and other peoples boats,pick the things that is going to work best for the new build and talk with Aris at oceanic to make it happen. I dont dislike anything about my builds because I know exactly what Im building before I start. When It comes time for your build, I have absolutely no problem helping you out with setup ideas, just let me know and we can throw a few different ideas around:)

    By the decisions made on this build package its clear you've got sea time and know your boats. Only difference I would have made is a diesel inboard. The torque and fuel economy is unparalleled. There noisy and take up deck space though.

      Thanks Dean, yeh everything is an compromise i guess, outboards have come a long way these days and definately suit what I do. If it was a long range cruiser for remote stuff I would defiantely consider going Diesel inboard.

    With the heavy plate sides and bottom does the boat drum at rest on the water? This is a very nice boat, but could be a deal breaker as most aluminium boats are noisy. I look forward to your reply as I'm looking for a bigger boat. Cheers

    Nice boat but to much clutter in the rear. No room to fight a fish. Pilot house roof extension keeps you from having casting room.

    • @excessivefishingaustralia2849
      @excessivefishingaustralia2849  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh hi mate, thanks for your comment, most of our casting was done from the front of the boat. We would often have 3 blokes throwing lures up there with ease, and although you the roof poles were there, if we needed to chase a fish, which we did all the time, we would go up front, around the bow. I never built this boat to be a game boat, more of a offshore/island explorer, Cheers

      @@excessivefishingaustralia2849 cheers mate, sick weapon, you reckon driving comfort wise you would rate this centre cab (helm weight distributed in middle of the boat) over the other 8.5 full front cabin you have(helm weight distributed at front makes it feel bumpy going over chops and swells). Thinking of getting a set up 8.5m similar to this centre cab set up. but being 8.5m did you find it a bit big towing it around etc? (I currently own a 7.5 Coraline Cuddy Cabin) i find it way too bumpy giving me sore back driving it even tho having good deck space being a Cuddy Cabin. thanks!

    • @excessivefishingaustralia2849
      @excessivefishingaustralia2849  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@maniyhy9451 no wokkas mate. The centre cab is definitely a better setup for fishing, the fact you can move around the whole boat, as for the ride I wouldn’t say the forward cabin was worse, but the boat itself handled a lot different. The centre cab was better in a sense that it would get up on top of chop and just fly across the top, you could go faster in the rough, where as the forward cabin was a bull dozer, just smashed through the rough, both super comfy, these hulls ride so good. As for towing, your towing 7.5m, not much different in the 8.5. I’d go 8.5 all day, you will never look back and go “I wish I had a smaller boat”😝

      @maniyhy9451 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@excessivefishingaustralia2849 haha, thanks for sharing it mate, exactly what I wanna hear and definitely going for 8.5 in that case hoping to keep the weight under 3.5T for as i tow with a ford ranger. what about 2.7 beam you found it inconvenient having the over-sized restriction? Apparently you not allowed to tow in on freeways night time and thats the only difference. And being black boat does it absorb a lot of heat and looks dusty very easily? I can tell a lot of thoughts you had put into the boats you built, how long the the whole building, paint and fit out process took? Sorry about all those questions as I wanna make sure I have a good thought about how I want it to turn out etc cheers mate!

Our 7.95 meter with 2.8 beam loaded with goodies (bait, Berley, beer, food, 5 pob) she’s weak out of the hull with a 300 yammy. I wish I had of gone twin 200s

      Thanks for watching Luke.These hulls are very efficient, cruise all day with auto pilot on at 26kn fully loaded with a top speed of 36.5 fully loaded. Does 38kn half full with 4 blokes on board. Its not the fastest boat out there but plenty quick enough, besides, I like the fact it was averaging only 1.1L per nm which was more important to me than hole shot.

      @@excessivefishingaustralia2849 not problem I really enjoyed watching you show case your boat, She definitely is a beautiful boat and well set up, I’m sure you were sad to see her go and I bet the new owner is stoked. Also that is some nice fuel economy but my point wasn’t speed or fuel economy, it was power delivery when you need it. For Bar crossings and high wind/ swell situations. Getting instant power to get out of the hull is more of a safety thing on bigger/heavier alloy boats. Did she spend much time out in the rough stuff?

If bar crossings are ya thing then I guess the more hp the better. Dont get me wrong, twin 200's or 250's on the back would be nice, but it did everything we built it for with ease.
