Thanks, we all have a thousand stories to tell, some good, some not so good. I'm just fortunate to make it here, doing what I am. Congratulations on your journey, you will not regret moving here.
Don’t put rocks overtop of soil. I also wouldn’t put rocks overtop of vapour barrier either. Weeds will grow in the soil through the rocks, creates a nightmare and if you put plastic underneath, eventually sentiment gets in there, seeds blow in, and you get the same problem. I think the only way to avoid hours of pulling weeds through rocks is to put a thin layer of concrete under them, then put a thin layer of rocks, and eventually when you get weeds, it’s easy to cleanup. You can also once a month just power wash the rocks to get out the sentiment
@@ParadiseNThailandthe best solution is to use shrubs that require zero maintenance except for trimming. I did landscaping construction / maintenance in college summers. Can’t tell you how many ppl loved the instant results of river rock only to hate it 2 years later and have it turned into a rock weed pit
Off topic. You've said previously you want to put lotus plants in your pond. We have a pond similar to yours and put 8 lotus in concrete containers last year. Now out at least once fighting a losing battle trying to stop them covering the whole pond and maybe suffocating our fish (?). Wish we had never planted them!
According to my wife my Thai mother-in-law is 150 cm and when she waded in pre-rainy season it was up to her chin, now would be over her head...I try to encourage her to wade further in but she's not falling for it! My sister-in-law is out in the boat at least once a week and scything away but following week the leafs are almost covering the pond again. Very labour intensive. Lovely flower on some but not all. The work you are putting into your videos are much appreciated.
Have you tried growing the longer bananas like we get in the states? I tried the Thai ones enough and never liked them much because they don't have that classic banana smell. They sell for more too so I wonder why more people don't grow them.
Vid's like this, just little updates on what you're up to., are what's nice. A cctv camera being set up to see just the landscape, maybe just overlooking the pond area, shooting from the house. That would be cool to check out on a regular basis. Just spit balling.
Hi Kenny, I know you said you are about a week behind in the video's but thought I would mention that there is a disk speed checker called 'Blackmagic disk speed checker' that will confirm if the sd's are real or fake. Have a good one mate and hopefully see you in about six weeks.🍺🍺🍺
I can testify to that, about 5000 bhat later. I think I have purchased 3 full sets, then started buying one at a time to get find one that will work before I buy enough for all cameras. What until the next episode of SD Card Saga. The journey continues.
Loved hearing more of your back story Kenny. Arriving in Thailand with family for good, end of October. Here's to keeping the dream alive sir.

I do like it when you take us for a walk out in the fields. Great Video!
I will try to do more of that, local walks and activities

Sounds like a lot of work no matter what I do.....

Enjoyed your video and looking forward to the next one. Enjoy the day.
Thanks Steven
Yorr a handy guy. Just build a cupboard around the TV. Then you can lock it up when you go away.
Good idea. But the birds and geckos will make nests and poop all over the cupboard. Bird spikes are the answer
Good thought, I saw one like that at an outdoor bar in Florida 15 years ago.

How deep is your pond? Mine is 3m, I think too deep for them in the middle, but I am not sure.

@hmfc007 definitely do not want an invasion . I think I'll hold off on the lily's in the pond. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, Sompit planted some about 4 weeks ago. I'll do an update on them soon.
My wife says that if you put a few of the glass shrimp in with the guppies you won’t need a filtration system.
I will see if I can find some
The plants you were asking about are pineapples.
Yes, Sompit told me. I didn't realize anyone around here grew those. Thanks
Good content brother ❤
Thanks Cary, appreciate the feedback.

I have the CCTV but have never tried to grab any footage form it. I will try that this week. Thanks
How are the solar lights doing on your perimeter fence and where did you get them?
The batteries are not that great. Go dim/out in a couple hours now. They are on Lazada for about B13 each

Thanks Daz, I will check it out.
Lots of copy SDCards around. I have had this problem.

Lucky thing you spotted that rice knife it's pretty dangerous
Never thought about that, but you are correct.

hi guys
Hello Terrence, as always, we appreciate your support of the channel.
Wife said pineapple
Mine said the same thing. Thanks
Next project is a Koi pond😂
OMG, that thought has crossed my mind, but worried about the maintenance it will require. Stay tuned, it may eventually become a reality.
