    Thanks for the video, you made it super super straightforward.
    The extra step that I did was disabled the auto tailgate function from the dashboard beforehand. Shut the tailgate manually after installation then turn back on the auto tailgate.
    Works great, and no resetting needed.

    Thanh, thanks for the great video. it was indeed simple but awkward to install.
    Biggest problem was getting the connector loose, not obvious how to release.
    It was also difficult to reinstall the panel because the wires from the harness and the finish panel left the panel hanging.
    I kept pulling out the connections on the LED inserts.
    I finally had to loop the led pigtail and feed wire and sip tie so they didn't pull apart as I was trying to reattach the door trim panel.
    Cant wait to see the difference at night for loading the back.

      @@vietbubbletea the item arrived in a week from China to Toronto!
      I just installed on my 2023 Hybrid LTD.
      Pushing the close button on the hatch didn't do anything, didn't even make a sound. I remembered reading a comment left by one of your views before I started the install with a similar issue and thought this might be common for newer model years.
      As I walked around to the drivers side I had this dreadful thought, since I manually closed the hatch what would I have to do to be able to open it again if the button from the interior wouldn't open it either....................Pushing the hatch button by the drivers side did make the beep sound and hazard lights blinked to acknowledge the button actuation but the hatch didn't open.
      I next turned the vehicle on and pushed the interior hatch button once again and this time it worked - all functions are back; kick to open, key fob, and interior button.
      Thought I would share this with your viewers, thank you very much again for your review and install video, keep up the good work!

    Really liked the lights. Going to order one, as prior to this I was unsure if this was plug and play.
    I was about to order the automatic fold/unfold mirror mechanism from cartrimhome, however it mention without the 360 camera? I am unsure if that mechanism would work for the platinum highlander with the camera as I have that? If it can be done, would you do a video on that?
    I have also ordered ambient lights for the foot well, doors lining/holders, console and for the roof lining from aliexpress. This is my first time doing the ambient lights, no experience on it. Will see how it goes.

    Idk why by 2024 they still haven’t added lights to the trunk of the Highlander. The grand highlander has them. I can’t see anything in the trunk at night

  • @davideap2281
    @davideap2281 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was really helpful! I did have a question. The cover of that trunk does stick out a bit even though all the clips are in. I’m not sure if you had that issue or if my wires are making it so it’s not secured completely.

    • @vietbubbletea
      @vietbubbletea  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I would double check to make sure all of the red circular clips are properly fastened to the cover as I had one red clip that stayed stuck to the lift gate and had to realign it. Also the wire bundle that plugs into the ECU is pretty thick and could cause the cover to bulge out if you're cramming the wires behind it, I used a couple zip ties and cinched it closer to the rear lift gate and that helped me with any clearance issues. I hope that helps!

      Agree with that comment, for me, the right one does not turn on automatically although the left does 100%. Contacted Cartrimhome support and they said factory would send a replacement one to see if it fixes it. I feel a real switch would do a better job than a capacitive sensor switch. EDIT: just received the replacement part tonight, installed right away. Tried it 10 times: 10 success. I can say the product is very good! And the customer service is up to the product!

      Try removing the lights to see if the lift gate works normally again. If it does, reinstall making sure your car is turned off and no electronics or AC is turned on during installation. I manually closed my lift gate after I tested the lights and everything worked for me. If you still have beeping issues, try resetting the PBD function on your steering wheel control to see if that resolves the issue.
