Everybody likes to talk about Kurenai using genjutsu on Itachi but no one points out Asuma saying he can take Itachi and Kisame alone. Honestly not sure which is more absurd.
I keep forgetting that Itachi and Kakashi worked together in the Anbu, where Kakashi was the senior. They know more about each other than the rest. Also, Itachi's reaction on hearing Kakashi talk about Sasuke was great. Especially if you consider that he and Kisame had come to the village as a warning to Danzo and to protect Sasuke after Hiruzen's death.
People like to meme on Kurenai for trying to use genjutsu on Itachi, they fail to mention that it worked on Kisame. And that she broke out of Itachi's genjutsu herself almost instantly as well.

I believe that Itachi is the producer team's most favourite character. Dude got the best plot include a big twist, a handsome face with unique feature, awesome jutsu, and on top of that, every small action of him scream badass from the way he open the cloak, touch his hair, etc. The dedicate and effort they put into this guy is awesome and I love that.
I love that Kakashi made sure to let Itachi know that he was watching Sasuke. Just that subtle little "I know you're here, and I'm watching Sasuke. If you try anything, it won't be easy for you."
