Don’t ever apologize for being so happy!! It is obvious that you and your Bride worked together extremely well on the plan. Enjoy every second watching your dream come true.
All the thousands of hours of picking peoples brain, family needs discussion, lost sleep, self doubt and the just straight up run of the mill stress of running a good sized project with such an enormous personal investment in, just came to fruition with it coming out of the ground. If you run into an unexpected future need, you will be able to accommodate it with that foundation. Not only excellent tutorial videos, but just in general good content!👍🏻
Your background/vocation certainly is serving you well in your planning and design of your "palatial estate" Blessings to you and your family. Thanks for taking us along on the journey......
Great looking foundation!! You can’t beat poured walls. Looks like good drainage around the house with all the shale . You guys must be really excited!!
I can appreciate your enthusiasm and humble appreciation of everything it takes to realize a dream. Thanks for sharing your vision with us - it's been a pleasure watching this come together to this stage. Please know we're cheering for you and your family out here. Merry Christmas!
I couldn’t imagine a better life! Between my wife and girls, my family, my work, and now building our dream house on a great piece of property, I’m very very blessed to have the life I have. Thank you!
@GunpowderandFreedom I thank you for making these videos... You and your dad have some of the best videos on TH-cam. You're very humble , but you do excellent work. I've watched everything you've posted , and the garage at your house is fantastic! And the driveway and the other things you've done ...good work! I love watching people that know what they're doing. I live in Texas , but I've been to Pittsburgh and all over Western Pennsylvania. The first time I went to Pittsburgh was 1968. I know it's changed a lot , since the last time I was in y'all's area, I think was 1982? But I was there from 1968-1982 many times. I am a musician and have played all over the United States, every State. I was traveling with my father the first few times we went to Pittsburgh. I love Western PA. Pittsburgh is a great city!. I have also done construction work for decades. Mostly around Dallas and my hometown, Ft Worth. My specialty was working on older buildings and houses , doing full restoration. I love doing restoration work. But I've done plenty of new construction too. I love the older architecture of the older homes and commercial buildings. I've done some work in Northern States, but never had the chance to restore buildings around Pittsburgh.... I would have loved to worked on an older home in Pittsburgh or a building. Anyway , I love what you and your family does and you and your dad should be very proud of how good y'all are , beautiful work! I hope you and your family , your wife and beautiful girls have a great Christmas Season and Christmas. Merry Christmas to y'all , your whole family and fellow workers. Thanks Again for your videos, I really enjoy them!
Steve, I really have enjoyed your channel. I watched every video on your Dad's channel and now I watch every one on yours. I have never thought of storage under the porch since you're pouring a basement. Great thought. Merry Christmas
I love it! Progress. Now... if the Steelers beat the Ravens tomorrow, everything will be alright in this world.... for now... lol. Seriously, it's looking good. There's always lots of clutter and it tends to look messy for a long while before it starts looking much better. Love the way you just keep plugging away at this.
Beautiful. You will never find a new build like that with all of these cookie cutter builders. Like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. Great call outs on making the most of adding additional storage as well. The initial cost to do the extra storage is still probably a lot less then having to put up a pole building. Unless, you get a motor home or camper, wait? You have a camper. lol
You have the right attitude Steve! A mature/ good/ confident tradesman does what it takes to help out. Nothing is beneath him! Great to see you so happy working on your own home! Been there done that, so I relate to you. Was doing a major remodel on my home this time last year after retiring recently as a remodeling contractor. Fun to be able to work on your own home instead of working for others. The MO of the door openings look real close to the correct size for a vault door.😂 Sooo good that your utilizing all the space below the garages vs backfilling & only pouring floor above. I'm guessing the precast isn't that much more than backfilling & compacting. I'm thinking you'll get a deal on the cost of labor for pouring the floors below garages. 😉😊 You'll never regret adding the lower garage spaces! Keep it up Steve & thanks for including us with the videos. Merry Christmas!!
Hahahaha the one door is a different size which just so happens to be the ro size for a vault door hahahaha thanks for watching and thank you for the kind words!
great talk .good advise about the extra storage idea.looking forward to those planks for the garage floor.now from an old man your plan on how long till you finish things are wise.but your girls will want that pool now not when they are going into college.dont finish the basement do the pool.have a Merry Christmas
How high are you planning on your finished ceilings going to be in both the main floor and the basement ? I would make the storage rooms climate controlled to control mold and moisture!
Do you plan on putting in a perforated foundation drain, surrounded with stone and wrapped in a fabric, before you backfill? Now is the time to do it. It's better to be safe than sorry that you didn't do it in the future.
There’s 4 of us. Me, Rachel, Eleanor, and Victoria. And Ryder (our dog) too. We are wanting more kids in the near future haha and I’ll be honest, I’m not sure of the square footage haha
Good Job looking and the big picture from A to Z make the provisions of Constitution phases as it makes financial sense. Every good thing in life starts with a strong plan regardless of the construction time line it will keep you on your forward progress doing it right the first time and NOT demoing new construction that gets costly a consequence of poor planning. So good job I'm proud of you regardless if you have a 30 to 50 year outlook of your construction phases it gives you something to look forward to and you can make Financial Provisions to pay out right for it that's the smart way to approach it Bank money is no money squirrel your money away and plan out your phases and proceeded young Man most importantly stay healthy and stay safe it all hinges on your well-being in good health I've been in commercial construction industry for 35 years it can get dangerous!!
I will be touching on that in a future video. I’m just trying to figure out a way to go about that so it doesn’t come across like I’m bragging. That’s one of my biggest worries with this is that people will think I’m trying to show off.
@@GunpowderandFreedom Nice, even with utilities / piping / etc. run overhead, you will still have a great ceiling height in the basement when you finish off the space in the future. For a few extra bucks now in form work and concrete you will be happy that you constructed the tall foundation walls.
i wasnt born yesterday. theres no way a young guy pouring concrete with his pop can acquire all this and be able to build a monster house. there has to be something missing. is your pop paying half your bills or something or giving you all the profits from every job you do?
I don’t need to explain my financial situation to you. No, my parents don’t pay for anything for me. It’s a lot of hard work, saving, and wise investing.
Don’t ever apologize for being so happy!! It is obvious that you and your Bride worked together extremely well on the plan. Enjoy every second watching your dream come true.
Haha thank you!
I love the “forward thinking “ that you and your wife are putting into your build, God bless!
Thank you so much! We appreciate it!

Thank you very much! Rachel and I are very excited to finally begin! Merry Christmas!
A man counting his blessings in the new year 2025. A great way to begin!
Thank you! Happy new years!
Storage under the porch, a friend of mine turned his in to his weapons vault. He actually found a vault door to secure the room. It’s great.
My gun room is going under the garage haha
Like a birth watching it grow from a baby into adulthood 😊
Hahaha that’s a pretty sound analogy!
Great looking foundation!! You can’t beat poured walls.
Looks like good drainage around the house with all the shale .
You guys must be really excited!!
Thank you! We definitely are excited!
When my buddy built a house he put spancrete over the 3 car garage. So his basement is the same size as the house. You are going to have a nice house.
Thank you very much! Rachel and I have put a lot into this so far and I know we still have a long way to go but we are very excited!

Under porch makes a great safe room for tornadoes which seem to be getting more frequent in western PA.
Haha I know right?! There were a handful of small ones this past year!
I love that your happy about all that is going on in your life God is Good!

I hope you are putting in in floor heat in the basement even if you don't hook it up at lease you have it rough in
Oh definitely!
That's going to be very nice , Steve! Looking forward to the next videos 👍

Haha the gun room will be under the garage 👍🏻
@@GunpowderandFreedom I think you mean the gun room will be under the garage??

When I do basements I set a 1x6 of PVC or azek trim board then end my rock right in top of that if dampness is an issue.
If it works, it works!
This house is going to be vast!
Haha thank you!
The walls turned out very nice!
Thank you!
@GunpowderandFreedom You are very welcome!

It's a beautiful site. Will you be able to hunt in the woods right outside the house?
Thank you! Absolutely I can haha I’ve been hunting it for the past three years
Merry Christmas 🎄, house looks solid so far. Nothing wrong with over thinking it. I'd do the same thing buddy 🎉

Very nice. The house is going to be sweet. Is CWTH going to do all the flat concrete work? You might get that family discount. :) :)
You know it! I'm hoping to get that family discount! Thank you!
So, there's flatwork, polished floors, foundations, pools, precast, slip form... What other concrete specialties are there that I haven't heard of?
There’s overlays, stains, countertops, and concrete jacking haha just a few more
