Over the last few years, I have entered into the realm of fish keeping. Ultimately my goal is to enter into the realm of keeping Koi! I am learning all I can about Koi before I begin the amazing journey of keeping Koi! The Koi Partner's videos are excellent in providing background and ideology surrounding these incredible creatures!

This is almost a commercial for serious koi enthusiasts but wow, I've never seen so many beautiful koi! I grew up in Hawaii and in the Ala Moana shopping center they had koi ponds, and when I was little, the koi were small, and as I grew, they grew. There were ones I got to know individually, and I liked to think they got to know me. Also, one time my mother and I sat on some grass by a pond that had koi in it (not Ala Moana center, another place) and my mom had her foot kind of close to the water, and a koi came up and tried to swallow her toe! It was so funny! Koi are so beautiful and adorable!

For some reason, I find it very satisfying seeing people lift up the fish gently from underneath with the koi not struggling too much. Maybe because so many other images of people holding/catching fish are much rougher and more chaotic (fishing for consumption, for example). I love how people get attached to these fish. We had one year in a Chinese public garden where a river otter got in and took many of these very old and specifically beloved fish.

I never new anything about Koi but now I see how majestic they are and why they are so respected in Japan.
I live in Wash state and plan to build a fish pond. These fish will truly be in my mind.
    Thx!

Was totally captivated by this video, thank you so much. When I was young I travelled to Japan and saw the Koi really for the first time. And this video showed me the behind the scene work. ❤️❤️❤️
